Perfect response.

Robocop 1 is god-tier 80's action.

They should have made him look more robotic and gave him some gun metal coloring. Read the script to this that got leaked online. It was alright but really hope they changed some stuff.

Liked the whole showing what's left of him descriptions.

Don't think the movie will bomb, but it will not have any legs.

Robocop 2 might win the award for greatest gulf in quality between original and sequel. It's so so so bad.

Take out the kid, the whole robocop being a friendly robot cop, and you have a way better movie.

Now Robocop 3 was shit. smh saw that crap in the theater.

You may be right, all I can remember from Robocop 2 is some dude named Cain (Cane? Kane?) and a drug of some sort? I've erased most of that shit-stain from my memory.

Edit: Yeah, I've never seen Highlander 2 due to being warned off it. TBF though, I love the original but it hasn't aged well at all.

Damn I like Highlander 2, it's not that bad :(

Why not pick 3 or the one with the dude from the tv show.

Think about what you're saying. Fucking aliens from Zeist, man.

Highlander 3: The Apology thankfully retcons that shite out, but tbh I'd never recommend anything other than the first.

I saw Highlander for the first time about two years ago. Really liked it, although it's very much a product of its time. One of the most 80's movies I've ever seen.

remake's got a cool ass supporting cast but fuck this shit. i think some directors should have their films untouched. verhoeven is one of them.

The biggest thing I'm hoping from this is that the original trilogy gets a decent bluray re-master. Throw everything into that trilogy please.

Which remake will be worse, RoboCop or The Crow. In the end Hollywood wins, we all lose.

Damn now that might be one of life's most difficult questions. Both movies were products of their time and modernizing either of them is going to take away a lot of what made them so special. The action and music for both are going to be dramatic downgrades, and both films were highly dependent on some incredible performances from their leads even though Weller doesn't typically get the credit he deserves.I'm going to say Robocop will probably be less shitty only because Michael Keaton is in it and I can't imagine the Crow remake doing anything right.

I still don't understand doing Draven's story again. The Crow lends itself to different protagonists and time periods that it just seems so unnecessary. They should have gone with a female victim and turned it into a borderline exploitation revenge film.

I don't know what that is, but it's not Robocop. This is Robocop.

Seeing this pic, it seems to me the new suit is basically like the old suit, sans silver armor, like an interior armor.

Maybe with this being "how does a man become a machine" story, the remake ends with them slapping the silver armor on - possibly as a result of unforeseen damage caused during the course of the film, where the engineers considered him able to withstand a ton a damage and being wrong.

So hopefully the remake is more "Robocop Begins".

The human hand looks so out of place. It makes him really look like a guy in a suit versus a full on cyborg. It also kind of gives the impression that they lost a glove during the shoot and just said fuck it. I don't mind the black suit, I just think the whole thing should be shiny like the helmet.

He may have a human arm that is just armored. In the original Robocop they do leave his arm attached but Bob says full artificial prosthesis so they take it off.

Honest, I tried watching the first Highlander again, it's kinda meh. It spends a large mount of time on the craptacular romantic plot.

Duncan McLeod > Connor.

I am even a little afraid to admit this ... but I am starting to like the robocop suit =x

It grew on me since the last thread ....

edit :

Also

"I have my take on it. And I can tell you this: In the first 'RoboCop' when Alex Murphy is shot, gunned down, then you see some hospitals and stuff and then you cut to him as RoboCop. My movie is between those two cuts"

They can redeem themselfs if they end the movie with an upgraded suit that looks like the classic

I wonder if they leave his arm on for some sort of "fingerprint identification" in order to use the handgun.

Stupid, I know - especially in a movie about a robotic man with a hundred other different ways to allow positive identification between two objects. Hollywood finds a way.

Someone photoshopped the suit to be gun-metal colored, and I thought it looked pretty good.

I would have been fine with that. Black suit just bothers me immensely.

My main problem with this is I am completely opposed to a human hand pulling the trigger on the weapon... I think they severely lost the plot on that.

Even if this sucks, at least Dredd was a good Robocop movie.

I don't know what your guys are talking about. Robocop?

I mean seriously.

Everyone knows it's about this guy here

Yeah that's right.

RobertCop!

Get it right.

I didn't know there was so much hate for Robocop 2. I thought it was good fun and the kid didn't bother me.

It's Irvin Kershner yall

I didn't *hate* Robocop 2, but it's vastly inferior to the first. Robocop 3 on the other hand is the worst thing ever.
