This is the best SOPA blackout.
The fact is, both the critical and player responses to the main zones in this game have been overwhelmingly positive. Most people seem to agree that both the Classic and Modern acts are great. What I can't understand is why SEGA don't see that they're on to a winner and want to give us more as DLC. I'd love to see Mystic Caves, Hydrocity and Lost World given the Generations treatment and a Sonic 06 level like Tropical Jungle made actually playable.
As do I.
Also, Extra Credits wants everyone who covers video games NOT to attend or cover E3 if the ESA keeps supporting SOPA. As someone who writes on two different game related sites, I'm not sure how I feel on this. If SOPA is still around during this time, then...yea. It's probably for the best.
Something actually related to Generations: there's now a demo of the game on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/71340/
I absolutely agree. This is part of what I meant by odd pacing and lack of cohesion and fluidity in the game structure... and also what I meant by the narrative not providing the right amount of adhesion that, for example, Colours' narrative did to its respective game.I've not managed to play much of this game yet but I am enjoying it so far. I've been a big Sonic fan since the very first one on the Megadrive. However the game structure feels a bit disjointed. I feel like I don't know how I should be playing it as you can select the stages and challenges in any order you want. Do you guys complete each challenge before moving onto the next stage or just do enough to unlock the next set of levels?
As with almost any game that lets you choose the order of stages, there's no feeling of progression like in the old Sonic games. You don't feel like you're working your way closer to the final goal but are just doing the stages for no real reason story-wise.
I don't want to sound like I'm knocking the game. Like I say, I love Sonic and I can see this is a really good game. But I find it hard to find a reason to play it other than kill a few minutes before going to bed. I guess I just don't know how to play it.
I didn't know that if you left the controller on the start menu, the "white space" CG cutscene from the first teaser trailer plays in full with a little music. I wonder if the other scenes are hidden like that somewhere.. (have any hackers unearthed these mystery cg cutscenes?)What bothers me the most is that these CG cutscenes were used in the trailers but were never used in the game. I guess they were made just for marketing purposes then...

Don't we have a Sonic community thread yet?
Those files would be too big to miss. People have already torn through the game files, no such luck.
Supposedly the 360 version eats up almost all the space available on the disc, which is one of the reasons the CG cinemas that are included are so ridiculously compressed. (It's like that on PS3 too, but they probably just wanted to do it one way and be done with it.) It could be they cut out the FMV so other content could be included, like music or something. And I'd be ok with that.
So Casino Night worth the dollar and change?
If you don't have the soundtrack or the 3DS version it's worth it for the sweet Casino Night remix alone. So Casino Night worth the dollar and change?
Do you like a full pinball game that looks like an HD Casino Night Zone and will play for short amounts of time? If so then sure go ahead.
So Casino Night worth the dollar and change?
It was as fun as some of the tables from FX2. It's too bad it doesn't have a leaderboard. I had a difficult time figuring out where the DLC was, I didn't think it would be in the first boss area."Full pinball game" is a bit of a stretch. Pinball FX2 this is not.
I guess we finally have the Sonic community thread we wanted. We just had DLC come out yesterday for some people, and we're moved to Community?
"Critical Error!"
Game files either missing or corrupt please reinstall
I guess we finally have the Sonic community thread we wanted.
Yeah, plus most of the hard work was done for the Community Thread anyway!I think we should go ahead and make one anyway, still.

(I'm glad I had this in my subscriptions, lol.)
Nah, take your time. It's the weekend, after all.I'm actually really close to making the thread and updating the OP when Shadi gets back to me. If that's what everyone wants, then I'll do it as soon as I get some time tomorrow. I've got things to do today. I don't want the contributions I've received to go to waste, after all.

I wonder if posting it during the week would be a smarter idea?
Good job taking forever on that community thread guys!
So are they just shoving every old game OT in the Community section?
To be fair, we should have a "No Stupid Fanart" bit in the OP. I assume that's taken care of... as well as the mods supervising the thread for the first week it's in Gaming. As long as the Community thread doesn't start off with what happened on page 164, everything should be fine.
Noooooooo. :lol|OT| There's a little Huelen in all of us
