I think we said that most of SonicGAF is black or from Britishland with some exceptions a while ago.I have a tendency to always assume everyone is white, or occasionally Asian.
I think some people were surprised when I said I was West Indian and not Asian. -South- Asian roots, maybe.
Yeah, as far as I can see, the Vita version is truly the best mobile version of the bunch.Like I mentioned in the thread, it's really not as bad as those screenshots imply because you get hella rings through normal gameplay. I've just played through the first tour in World Tour mode and racked up nearly 20k, didn't spend a penny on microtransactions.
That said, it's certainly no replacement for the Vita version as far as being the definitive portable edition.
I don't know why people are surprised by the IAP, though. I think I've come to the realization that a lot of the games from bigger companies just feature it. But with that said, like you said, you can certainly advance just fine as-is without paying a cent. Rayman Jungle Run/Fiesta Run has IAP and I had no idea because you could progress normally. Same with Final Fantasy ATB. I could progress by myself just by changing the in-game clock. :V I mean, we have a few games on Vita that feature IAP, but like some mobile games, they just don't feature it as heavily as the Zynga model did.
It's only when you do have to pay out the ass for the original game and then -have- to pay for IAPs, then I have a problem. But I don't think I've played a mobile game where you were absolutely forced to pay for something in order to advance. Zynga abused that model completely, and I guess that's where it gets its perception from.
I've come to actually like mobile games a lot over the past year. There's a lot of good stuff on there, some of which made my GotY list this year.
I don't think Wave Master Inc has it on their website anymore, which is really weird. I know the [H] photo's still there, and that's from the Sega Sound Unit.Does anyone know where I can find most of the Wave Master Studios composers group photo? I've seen it somewhere, I don't remember.
It could be on the site still, but I'm having a hell of a time finding it since it looks like the Wave Master site got bigger from the last time I checked.
Milla playthrough should honestly take you 4-6 hours. It took me that long both times I plat the game. You're right Schala, Xillia's EX Dungeon is a pain in the ass. It's just 20 floors of recycled maps with nothing unique. I ended up just making a beeline for each portal. And I finally beat the Golden Mage Knight, which in itself took me 45 minutes. Took me five months but now I can finish up Sonic Lost World because I'm finally done with Tales of Xillia.until the Milla playthrough
Plat takes about 60-80 hours depending. I plat the game twice and don't want to go back to Xillia 2 in a hurry despite having tried to make to effort to do so. Don't plat the game if you're going to play Xillia 2 because you'll dislike the environments forever because asset reuse. I, and other importers from what it seems like, just don't want to play Xillia 2 further than I already have because it's rather creatively bankrupt in terms of its environments and trophy requirements. :/
Did you beat the three Golden Mage Knights and then completely beat the EX Dungeon? I thought the EX Dungeon was more boring than anything else. I felt they just didn't try anymore. Xillia 2's EX Dungeon is a little better, but I feel like it's best to go through it after multiple playthroughs since your affection meter between characters can be carried over on a NG+. I'd also like to note that Xillia 2's EX Dungeon is impossible with more than 2 players if you're playing MP, as you MUST be linked with someone to cause damage (otherwise you'd be doing 1 damage).
With that said, it's not a secret that I don't like the Xillia games as much as GAF does (and I knew GAF would like it way more than I would for various reasons), which is why I've decided to refrain from looking at/posting in Tales threads for a while (also because they tend to drive me nuts).
I don't even know if I'll get to TW101 yet since I'm playing BD and AC: Pirates atm.trying to get through ys and wonderful 101 simultaneously. both are the same length but w101 seems like it goes on forever. i've both for about five hours each and ys is mindless dumb stuff but i'm liking it more than w101.
AC Pirates is pretty fun. There are some misgivings I have (with respect to balancing and the whole "progress the story further to unlock this upgrade" thing), but I'm enjoying it more than AC3. More shit to do, basically. Ship Upgrades and hideout upgrades work similar to building up towns or much like AC2's Monteriggioni model.
