Ybarra confirmed in the after show they are publishing it. It's at least timed. The box art also has 'Xbox One Exclusive' on it.

They must have had an oops during the show though. Think back and you will remember that every other game had an announcement before it saying it was exclusive.

What an amazing conference, everything was there, the pacing, the games ( Especially the exclusives ), the gameplay demo, the length, damnnnn one of the best Sony conference ever.

they have won this E3 one more time, an easy fight this time though.

So that was a weird conference,:
-Horizon looked good again but we have already seen gameplay from last E3
-God of War did nothing for me
-That Bend game had no hook it was just lots of zombies on screen.
-Spiderman Insomniac game they should done a demo for that is it an open world game is is level structure. Who knows.
-Sony have still not convinced me of VR. The VR block in general was 'meh' they need to get away from VR Experiences and show some real 'meaty' games with demos on stage.

They started off great and the few newly announced games look nice graphically, although Days Gone first trailer did more for me than the gameplay footage. But this felt very different and off for a Sony show. Was shocked when they said they had one more game, show felt much much shorter than usual. It felt like something was missing.

It is quite clear that Sony devs simply have this shit locked down, because as awesome i thought MS was.....we just did not get these graphics, but overall for a Sony show it felt underwhelming. I guess i expected several more new IP probably.

And.....Red Dead 3 a no show. :(

What an amazing conference. Watched it with my buddy, we just kept saying "Oh my God" over and over. Horizon looked incredible, GOW 4 stands out from the others ones finally and is taking a different route this game. Spiderman is just...Spiderman. And Days Gone looks to have a lot of potential(looking forward to riding in a chopper all over that open world, hopefully there'll be chopper riding zombies too!). That RE VR gameplay left me spooked, just wish the demo wasn't available to just PS+ Users)

Hands down, the best conference today.

That was a great conference. I had no nostalgia for last years so it did not impact me as much as it did others so this easily blew that away.

Tflops vs Games

hmmmmm

ya right, how many of those games coming out right now? even next year? or 2018? and what about some games announced last year too?

this is the problem with Sony.

I was genuinely surprised by TLG release date. Hopefully they keep it locked.

I was really hoping that game that ended up being Call of Duty was actually a space sim built for VR. That launching of your ship in VR would have been HNNNNNNNNNNNNNG

I expect more stuff around the console itself, or a more well put together set of info on PSVR.

Not just a run of trailers.

Its fine if people dont share my opinion.

Im super excited for lots of these games that they have shown though.

Felt like a much more subdued show. Still a lot of bangers, but i sort of missed stuff like the indie showcase reels, or random stuff like the Tim Schaffer remaster announcements. Aside from EA pretty much all the conferences were like this for me. Solid across the board but nothing mind bending.

That was a weird damn conference, even though a lot of the games and announcements were actually quite good.

God of War looked 10 times more interesting than I thought it would, Horizon still looks amazing, full Crash remaster is honestly better than a new game, Detroit looks like David Cage is going back to a more a Heavy Ran/Fahrenheit style game which I'm all for, a high budget Spiderman game could actually be pretty good and I'm all for seeing what crazy shit Kojima has going on.

But all in all the whole thing just felt disjointed and almost left you with a lot more questions than answers, which feels like the complete opposite of what should be happening. They honestly needed more people telling me about what their overall vision was and about the games themselves. And why was it so short in general? Sony usually do around 2 hours, this was less than 75 minutes. Overall the conference felt like either an experiment gone wrong or just like they didn't have enough time to make a decent, coherent conference.

LOL. No matter how much Sony does exactly what we say, someone will always be unhappy I guess. 2014 they refused to do an online only console that wouldn't allow used games, people found something to whine about. 2015 they revealed the games people have been begging for for years, people found something to whine about.

Now here we are in 2016 and Sony basically just lays out a fuckton of games without all the speechifying that EVERYONE bitches about, and people have still...

Ah well. Fuck it. Good work, Sony. Anything I'm upset about comes from mistaken GAF leaks lol. (Red Dead 3, DMC5.)

Just got back from the NYC theater experience, great fun as always.

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but what's on the lanyard codes?

I just got to say the production values for the show was amazing. I can't believe they had the balls to pull a live orchestra and score most of their trailers AND DEMOS. It made things really majestic and unique for an E3 press conference. That TLG trailer was full of feels just because the music was performed live.

The staging is awesome as well, from the LED Red Carpet Kojima walked on, to the Crash Bandicoot stage that Shawn walked in (with him creating a shadow of Crash Bandicoot). It was like watching a good Eurovision entry, IMO. Lots of spectacle.

The games are... okay. The new games they announced looked interesting. Horizon looks amazing, while Detroit did the branching storyline marketing effectively. I think I am a bit concerned with how plenty of games ended up like The Last of Us.

Resident Evil 7 and Death Stranding shocked me though. I think the latter would have had a huge impact if it ended up being Silent Hills, but it's water under the bridge now. DS sounds like it's going to work with concepts from Silent Hills anyway.

Basically, anyone expecting a seismic conference last year would be disappointed. The games they showed here amazing, presented in a unique and spectacular manner. Some surprising announcements (not as huge as last year) as well. I think it was a great conference.

It's not THE conference to beat, but for the production values alone, it's one of my favorites.

(Also I was darned impressed with how great the sound mixing was. Orchestra was never too loud to overstep the game audio, same way the other around. And you still get to hear the lulzy audience reactions "I HATE KITCHEN.")

EDIT: Also, where the hell is Wattam?

Thinking about this conference more, this is how I see it. While there are no where near the surprises of last year's conference, there was still loads of new games shown, most of which are gameplay demoes and not even in engine trailers. Also, those games are shown one after another with the on stage talking kept to a bare minimum. The pacing was definitely better than last year's conference by a large margin.

So, in conclusion, while it may not be Dreams 2.0 in terms of shocks and surprises, it can certainly be considered Dreams 2.0 if you look at the overall package.

Really good show.

Loved the presentation. Sony upped the game with a live orchestra. That wouldn't have been cheap but I'm sure live it sounded really good though didn't get quite the impact watching online.

Now it was never going to top last year. Impossible. But it was a good crack. All the new games graphically looked stunning (albeit similar). Some cool new IPs and more on the games we know.

God of War was weird. I thought it was Horizon at first. Then Beard Kratos appeared. The voice work isn't great and was odd. I hope this is worked on. Maybe because it wasn't Kratos' voice but the kid didn't gel well either. On to the gameplay it seemed a very TLoU with the bow and deer. Not sure that was a great choice to show it off with. Camera looked a tad too close in combat howver there seems some remnants of classic GoW hidden in there somewhere. Not sure on this one yet. Need to see more. Because while it's nice to see GoW come away from Greek mytho, it seems strange not to just throw away Kratos completely and start a new IP altogether and keep GoW separate. We'll have to see. Beard Kratos felt out of place.

Detroit looked ace, nice choices and ways to play by the looks. Felt more like Heavy Rain too which was great. REVII was a surprise. I did feel like that's what was going to happen part way in but then thought maybe it's PT for VR or something too. Spider-Man looked very promising indeed. Finally a big budget, good developer working on a popular license. Horizon looked fab albeit reminiscent of a FarCry game but cool none the less. The FFXV VR segment was random and just felt forced. That's the best SE could come up with?! Still not convinced on VR in gaming. Most just seen walking/flying sims and like motion controls not all games seem to work well in it leaving a lot of shorter experiences than full on games.

One of the surprises was CoDIW. I had no idea it was CoD. I thought we were still on the VR segment. I was shocked because it actually looked fantastic with the grapple and moves and not like any other CoDs I've seen. Shame a promising gameplay section will be half the campaign if past games are any indication.

Days Gone looked cool and promising. Again looked very TLoU until the zombie hordes. It will be one to watch certainly. Crash was nice to hear of the remasters but nothing to show. Which is bizarre seeing as Sony have been teasing him since the start of this gen. However I hope Skylanders Crashs design isn't an indication of what he'll look like in the remaster. Horrid.

It was a snappy conference overall. Perhaps too short and would have liked to see games from one or 2 other devs but nice to finally see stuff like GoW and Bends game. Cool we got to see what Kojima was up to so soon. Even if it was very weird but not unexpected from him. Don't like the name though but interesting all the same. Also nice for Sony to open with a lovely message for the atrocity in Orlando. Nice touch. Shame no big announcement to close on however.

Overall I'd say an 8/10. Conference of the show by far and blow every other one away with the games on show. Not even in the same league.

Fuck man, Sony's conference I just...

giphy.gif

No developer talking over the game, just the games speaking for themselves. Perfect.
Every year people complain about too much talking, not enough games. Well this year they just show game after game, no CG trailers, no blah blah blah, a few in game trailers and lengthy gameplay videos... what many many asked for in a conference. Now its ehhh it was too short lol.

Sony shooting loads of games. Not showing neo right now was a great decision imo since they can focus on current hardware and not something 1.5 years into the future (Scorpio) and muddle their message.
Still, I hoped to see at least one game for Vita, but no indie showing killed that hope for me. Could have also shown some Japanese and indie titles even if it extended the show by half an hour more, I would have loved it.
7.5/10 . Still the best E3 conference this year by a long shot. MS at 5/10 for showing a new hardware made somewhat obsolete an hour later.

How can you own a PS4 and not enjoy that conference? Maybe thinking it was just decent would be understandable but to say it was terrible??! Really?!! *scratches head*

Shooters after shooters, first person after first person, hack and slash after hack and slash.... what a gaming time we live in.

Ohhhh and so glad they didn't show no man's sky. Just release that shit already or be quiet. They automatically get points for that.

I can easily see all of them in 2017.

All of them have been in development for years.

With Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead already existing I seriously don't get what the selling point of Days Gone is.

Thats what I was thinking. Days Gone looked like Left 4 Dead without the special zombies. It looked promising though. I liked the way the bridge buckled under the weight of those zombies. I wonder if that is a thing that can actually happen randomly or if its an effect for the sequence.

Edit: I was thinking that it looked like Left 4 Dead not that it doesn't need to exist.

Holy shit, I'm used to seeing you gushing about everything MS in off topic, but you do it here too? Did they save your life or something, because that's a scary level of loyalty.

But most of these games scream 2018 release.

Where is the FFVII R and Shenmue 3 footage?

Absolutely disappointing conference. Horizon footage was great though.

Wut?

TLG is 2016 Oct
Horizon is 2017 March
RE7 is 2017 Jan
FFXIV is 2016 Sept
CoD:IW/MW:RE is 2016 Oct
50 VR games by the end of the year

This is just from the top of my head without looking.

It's amazing that Sony can leave out so many games every year and still have a great conference while the competition has to reveal almost all they have just to come close.

Loved it. The new zombie game looked cool, but I'm kinda feeling fatigue on that whole thing. I loved what's happening with God of War so far. And the VR stuff makes me want VR for the first time.

Also, Spider-Man. Also Batman.

Best conference of 2016 E3.
