every time I see this discussion, people always say they want more stiff analog stick, I assume what they mean is that the analog have more resistance when you move it away from the center, why do people want this? granted I only use 360 controller a couple times on pc, but I always have easier time with subtle movement with ds3 analog, with 360, because it snapped firmly in the middle, I need to use a bit more force to move the stick and usually make me overshoot my aiming when I just want subtle change.
now I admit I've seen some pretty old ds3 controller where the analog has gone loose, as in it'll sometimes register movement even when you didn't touch it, I assume this happen because the stick didn't snapped back to the center properly, but this is because of faulty hardware due to long use or just played too roughly. new ds3 don't have this problem. so maybe they can work on the build quality, but as far as the analog stick resistance goes, I think ds3 is great.
I have no idea why people want this either, it's absolutely terrible for shooters and why I prefer to play games like call of duty on the ps3 rather than the 360. The precision and fine tune aiming on the ps3 is vastly superior thanks to the smaller dead zone.
