Oh, please, no. 2019 is so far away. I hope ND can push a game out by Fall 2018. Last gen they managed to release a game every two years or less. With some production most likely worked on TLOU2 before Neil and Bruce were brought ovee to Uncharted 4, hopefully 2 years from now is enough time.
Isn't really a big deal to me either way, lol. I have zero interest in TLOU2 so UC4 was basically a swan song from ND until like...2023 or something, lmao.
As far as last gen, regardless of what they said about "time to triangle", it's obvious they're not going to be able to churn out games with the same regularity they did last gen, unless they went and built two teams without telling anyone, which would be neat.
2018 is plenty fine, it's more that it's odd because 4 years development time on a game with an engine all ready from a team that's fairly efficient raises some questions. I mean it'd be a complete shame if they tossed the Second Son engine out after one game considering it was a great looking engine.
It's not that odd to me. For one thing, games are clearly taking longer and longer to complete. And even with an engine ready, they've still got to develop a brand new IP (apparently). And once that's done, it needs to be a larger, meatier game than Second Son because that was everyone's biggest complaint about that title.
This could mean a few things:
1.) There are some studios we've forgotten.
2.) There are some studios we don't know about, lol.
3.) Some studios have multiple teams and they're developing multiple games simultaneously.
Either's fine, 'cause honestly I was wondering wtf happens once 2018 hits.
