The hype is escalating as Sony (NYSE: SNE - news) puts the last touches on its launch campaign for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), its portable gaming device.
The company has announced an enormous advertising campaign over multiple channels: print publications, TV, radio and online. The online ads will feature multimedia presentations designed to highlight the console's multimedia capabilities.
Sony's powerful marketing machine is one of the elements that keeps the PlayStation line of gaming devices on top, Yankee Group's Mike Goodman told NewsFactor. The PSP's launch in Japan late last year was accompanied by a global media blitz. The March 24th release in the United States promises to be even more flashy.
