Sony press conference announcements

That looks like a PS2 game... :\

Where did you guys view the video for it? I can't find it.

And where's the juicy news? Nothing exciting at all.

ugh, the least you could do is release them at native resolution.

Not 10x their size.

it seems sony is forcing devs to release screens at 1080p (as if the games are actually going to be running at that resolution)

Don't disgrace ZOE2 like that.
Take a ZOE2 screenshot, blow it up to this bigger resolution, and I'm sure it's more or less what you get. And I think ZOE2 looked amazing, at least for a game of the current generation.

Jaggylicious. All the casuals are going to be like "Where's my Killzone 2???" Haha, showing all that "target" stuff I think might backfire.

ZOE2's mech sexiness is unrivaled

Why couldn't more people buy it? Now we'll probably never see a 3rd game. :/

Man, it's like E3 all over again. MS pre-empted Sony and became a laughing stock. Now it's the other way around, with MS's conference a few days away. Weird stuff.

I seriously don't see what is dissapointing about Project Force. I think it looks very, very nice. Yeah, the huge screens don't help the case very much, but if you look at the small ones realistically I think they look very nice. FromSoft also revealed Chrome Hounds and eM with really tiny screens, which I'm sure would look just as bad if blown up like this, but as they were, they looked very nice too.

What's to damage control?

The game looks like shit.

Must have misunderstood you. I thought you were downplaying it, saying it only looked poor because of the size of the screens. Aplogies.

Yeah, except this is the true resolution of the pictures, the other ones are the 'thumbnail' versions :)

after looking at the big screens, i sorta take it back.

i think it's just that they picked some really shitty pictures to show the game off. although that one with the lazers does look cool. if everything is super destructable, well, that alone is already a good start.

although being that From Software isn't that big, i wouldn't be suprised if this was all they could manage to pump out. although word on the street is that they busted out some of the best graphics on xbox. so they could definitely have some talented programmers, but then again, next gen is all about the big leagues. well, maybe Nintendo well pull off what they're claiming about creating an enviroment for smaller developers to shine.

You know, I just raised the resolution of my monitor and looked at the Project Force screens again, and I take it back, it doesn't look that good. :/ I still don't think it looks terrible, but eh. The first shot and the one with the lasers show promise, though.

What makes you think the screens are blown up, they're 1080p resolution which the ps3 renders at.

The graphics aren't even the worst thing about the game..It's that its being made by From Software.

PHONE MAIL FROM SHO NUFF, who was at the show:

ps2 lineup v mediocre but level 5 rpg looks good. psp lineup is utterly embarrasing save two gimmicky looking nongames a la nintendogs. bomba is psp system 2 point oh, adds browser with flash compat. and ability to download tv episodes in super sharp avc format (same as umd vid) ps3 no new demos. basically an hour of kutaragi jerking off the crowd with old e3 demos. no im serious, the people behind me were going "ohhhhhhh" "unngggghhh" "sugeeeee kireiiii" like someone was fellating them, I wish i had a mic or something, plus it was during the Alfred Molina demo(maybe they were gay). oh yeah white psp coming out soon. I left early because it was going way over schedule plus stockholder talk bores me stoopid.

EDIT: jonnyram points out that he may well be wrong about the flash compatibility, if the web reports are to be believed...

i don't bash 360.

in anycase, this applies to all next gen systems. they're more than powerful enough to make it difficult for the smaller developers to really tap the power.

multiplatform may help though.
