Zlatko, it sounds like you're having problems adjusting to 3d fighting games.

It might be the case. I'm pretty ass at Tekken 6 too.
Any tips?
I use Devil Jin style.

Learn the game with a character that isnt based mostly on pure punishing?
play nightmare, use 4 moves and win
Okay. What's the most noob friendly character then? i.e the guile/ken/balrog of the game.
My main issues seem to be getting my offense going I guess. People will get me into a block string once, and I fail to punish it or get out of it with side steps, throws, quick jabs, etc.
Does it matter what button you press to tech throws?
Also, I think I should try some other characters than a Patroklos. He's a little execution heavy especially with the slide inputs. I can do them now online but things like 214-3aB still messes me up, especially since it seems the 214 won't work unless you move the analog stick all the way to the left.
EDIT: Also Dampierre's Theme, so good.
The only knowledgeable player I know was speaking pretty highly of Nightmare despite everything he does being negative. You forgot the caveat: Against scrubs.

The main characters giving me trouble are anyone with long range i.e Nightmare, Sieg, Astaroth, etc.
I don't understand this game at all. =(
Like DOA4 this game is more mix up oriented.
Really? That sucks.Like DOA4 this game is more mix up oriented.
Natsu >>>>>>>>>>>Taki
She is awesome. Where are my Natsubros at?

It's nothing like DoA4, since you can punish things, sidestep things, escape grabs, and you have safe moves in this game.

I've always been more of a casual SC fan, so a lot of stuff goes over my head, but she definitely feels a lot more capable than SC4 Taki. And I don't exactly think SC4 Taki was a slouch either.I'll admit I was wrong about Natsu. She lost some strings, but her stance getting back the lows (and other stuff that SC4 Taki lost), more than makes for it. Doesn't hurt that her CE (with the follow up) does amazing damage and her 8 way attacks are cancelable.
The original Natsubro. I totally agree with the statements in in the parenthesis. And more than just being more fun to play all her stuff just looks cooler. All her stuff is just so flashy and awesome now.I've been on that train since before it left the station.
(Although I still like Taki's character design better. Natsu is more fun to play than Taki ever was.)
What's a mix up?
All of that is in DOA4 to some extent. Just heavily mix up based though, like DOA4.
"All of that is in DOA4 to some extent. Just heavily mix up based though, like DOA4."
Almost every fighting game is about mixups in some form. How is DOA4 any more "mixup based" than Tekken or Virtua Fighter?
I've been using Natsu and...I'm done. It's too easy. Too many things are setting up my downfall. First, she's too strong. Which means if people are serious about playing the game, they'll have some anti natsu tech to work on me. Second, I'm finding myself falling back on her strength. Natsu (not me) is just rolling over fools. Time for a break. Gotta learn someone new.

Grind Arcade mode.
Sidesteps don't work in DoA4. the only punishing you can doa4 is with throws. Guard crushes actually work in this game.
This game is nothing like DoA4.
Thanks, but lame.
"DOA4 is heavily relaint on its paper/rock/scissors triangle system. Attacks beat throws, holds beat attacks, and throws beat holds. It's the main core of the game, SCV is closer to that. Not saying it's exactly alike."
That triangle system or any kind of analog to it doesn't actually exist in SC5, though.
"No, it's very much like it. Side steps do work against certain attacks, whiff punishes are prevalent in DOA4 too, etc. . . the high low mix up in SCV is a huge part of the combat, moreso than ever thanks to it being faster and more offensive based."
All of that is the core of every 3D fighting game.
I have been seeing her at the top of a lot of people's personal tier lists right now. She definitely feels strong me, but I still don't know enough about the other characters yet to agree or disagree with you. I've only had a day with my brothers copy of the game.I've been using Natsu and...I'm done. It's too easy. Too many things are setting up my downfall. First, she's too strong. Mind getting into specifics about what of her wake-up game is scary? I've only had a day to mess with her.Right here!!! She's a lot better than I thought she would turn out. Oki game is way to scary and damaging.

so how has the fighting/SC community received this game so far? comments on this page seem to be positive, i'm curious about jumping in.
If you have controller/arcade stick with Turbo button:
Assign B (attack) to X or A button (depending on console). Go to Quick Battle, pick Pyrrha Omega, find BloodFrosty, set X/A to turbo and walk away for a few hours.
I've had this running for a bit and I'm at 65-0.
