whytemyke said:But haters gonna hate, and I guess you can't get a southpark thread anymore without people crying about how they watch the show despite how much they think it's awful. (just do what I did with 24.... stop watching it!)
That's all the OT is... no waitSpectral Glider said:Oh my god, that's all the Office thread is, a bunch of fucking whiners.
It got sillier because that was the point. It's basically a commentary on people who decry Tiger's actions.Mr Cola said:If anything it seemed a rushed idea which sort of didnt know where to fall, so it kept getting sillier, and while it usually works (see Towelie) it left me without any laughs this time.
Good to see it back though
Im not saying i missed the point, im saying that sometimes it gets sillier and funny because of it, and other times it doesnt, its a hit and miss thing for me. Im sure this season will still pull out a few gems like usualJet Grind Radio! said:It was a pretty good episode. Got a laugh at the monkey tests. And Butters, as always. "Aw. I don't want to buy a Batman suit." :lol

This, although I lightly chucked a couple times and I'll keep watching hoping for the occasional great episode. I wasn't too hopeful for this one though because they had months of celebrity news bullshit to parody. They really are the worst episodes. "Haha, something happened in the episode that happened in real life to a celebrity, that is humorous to me!" Ugh. It just allows them to get creatively lazy with the writing. The best episodes are the ones that get lost in the world of South Park and the lives of its people, not this celebrity/E! News/Tabloid-obsessed parody shit.dead souls said:Watched it because of the topic and promptly remembered why I deleted my season pass last year.
Completely unfunny. Never again.
You wanna know something sad? Towelie episode aired almost 9 years ago now. Makes me feel oooollllddddd!Mr Cola said:I really dig south park but this episode just wasn't for me, but that's just how south park is, some you "get" some you just don't, no need to overanalyse it. Its rare one goes by without any laughs though, which was a shame. Thanks for the update, guy.dead souls said:Watched it because of the topic and promptly remembered why I deleted my season pass last year.

So you're fine with people coming in here going "LOL", but when someone doesn't like it, you don't take them seriously.whytemyke said:Thanks for the update, guy.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tempting....But I just can't give up my Senor Chang avatar...Spasm said:Made some avatars for the hell of it. Up for grabs.
No, I'm fine with critiquing a show, but there's a difference between fans of the show talking about what they did and didn't like, and people who clearly hate the show watching it just to go online and tell people they watched it and still hate it. It's a waste of time on so many levels. Why watch it? Why talk about it?whitehawk said:So you're fine with people coming in here going "LOL", but when someone doesn't like it, you don't take them seriously.
Okay then, guy.

I seriously doubt there are many people complaining about new South Park episodes who weren't once SP fans and continue to watch the show hoping it's one of the season's gems. This isn't a South Park Appreciation thread. It's a South Park thread. And "that was shit" is as valid a post as "I LOLed".whytemyke said:No, I'm fine with critiquing a show, but there's a difference between fans of the show talking about what they did and didn't like, and people who clearly hate the show watching it just to go online and tell people they watched it and still hate it. I can't stand V. I gave it a shot for 3 episodes and stopped watching it. You know how you know I don't care? Because I'm not in the V thread, talking about how much I don't like it. It's not a part of my life. People who engage in something they purport not to care about only for the sake of whining about it later on (to people who LIKE the show, no less) are people whom I can't help but think are somewhat attention starved. Or they're just assholes. But I can't rectify why someone would:
A) engage in something they dislike or
B) talk about it being stupid to people who do like it
without being either one of those.

The boys are given a controversial book to read in school that both
excites and inspires them to write one of their own. When the boys
discover that Stan's mom has found their masterpiece, their new
motivation is how they can stay out of trouble.

Episode about The Catcher in the Rye, interesting. Seems this time a random episode, not something about current events (though it looked the same in Avatar episode last season)
