South Park: The Stick of Truth - Review Thread

Almost every review saying it's the funniest game ever made. To be, that's the most important aspect of South Park game and it seems they nailed it. Can't wait to pick it up.

btw this is so on my buy within this month list now. im taking a wait and see on titanfall ... and infamous well i dont have a ps4 but even i did it would be very dependant on reviews plus the fast true next gen games are rare ... this is looking to possibly be my march buy before i hold off till order or driveclub for my next fix.

Played it for about 3 hours so far.

Game is hilarious. The customization options are astounding. The critics that say the game is easy are right so far. But the combat is constantly fun.

So it probably isn't the longest or deepest rpg you will ever play. But if you want something to make you laugh, it seems like this is a great bet

Huh, guess the bugs will be dragging the score down in some places.

. . . And what the FUCK at GameSpot displaying comments along the side as they get added? That seems like an easy way to go spoiling people without even trying.

Gamespot does it again. They never cease to amaze me. I'm fairly sure I'm going to love this game. I never expected anything deep or terribly difficult; this is a fanservice game pure and simple.

so what like a 85/100 game that is great for me a 14-16 hour game perfect.
Seeing like low reviews tells me they just dont like South Parks humor.

PC Gamer gave it a 90
http://www.pcgamer.com/review/south-park-pc-review/

"It’s surprising, surreal, packed with jokes, and rarely frustrating. I didn’t get bored once across the 17 hours it took me to finish the story and most of the sidequests, and it kept me laughing consistently until the credits. If that isn’t worth 90%, I don’t know what is."

What's funny is that this is their most polished game if you ask me. I had some very minor bugs on the PC version at least.

Obsidian's most polished game is still a disaster to most devs. They make fun games but goddamn their QA is right up there with the worst of the worst. Excited to rent this a couple months from now when it works... Hopefully...

a great south park game woooo

Um, a 7/10 is a good score.
Yeah, it's nothing amazing but it's a solid score and if that's the lowest South Park gets then it pretty much nailed it. Heck, the end of the review pretty much just cautions it's not some second coming of RPGs (though I think most level headed people knew that with more of a hope of the first truly great South Park licensed game) but that it's a fun adventure.

... though his avatar kind of taints his posts anyway, haha.

eh...open world games by nature are more prne to bugs, so will still wait to see if this game has a lot of bugs. in past obsidian games it is quite understandable given the type of games they make.

Is it wrong to be slightly pleased by some of the low scores? I mean those are the same guys that rated NV lower than F3 (well mostly)

People criticizing the GameSpot review: did you actually read it? Because I have yet to see anyone actually comment on anything about the content.

Rock Paper Shotgun - moderately positive by John Walker

It is at once the South Park game we’ve been waiting for since the series started 17 years ago, and a cluster of stupid mistakes and bad balancing that we’d hoped Obsidian had put behind them. If you’re willing to plough through its dull opening hours (or perhaps mainline the main story until you reach the Taco Bell content to speed that process up), and put up with the technical issues, then there’s a lot on offer here. But that’s a big “if”, and not one someone paying for the game should have to ponder.
