I never watch tv, since 99% of the shows are utterly retarded. Then came Spaced. I dont think I ever connected that much with a tv show since forever. If ever

Dunno if its because the actors are suposed to be about my age (give it2-3 years more maybe), but the sence of humor connects so much with me and my friends have been doing since we were kids. The movie refences. The type of jokes. I watched the two seasons in two sessions in a day. Simon Pegg is such an expressive guy, and you cannot help but identify with him and his friend, Mike (Nick frost is really funny too). How many times did you do the same exact shit that them -- the slow mo shootouts, the wrestling, playing videogames for hours, getting drunk. The Star wars obsession of Tim, oh man..

Me and my best friend are exactly like Tim and Mike (well ok neither of us is a gun nut). Holy shit that show hit home.

What about Daisy! Jessica (forgot her last name) really nailed perfectly her role. The chemistry between Daisy and Tim is -PERFECT- I love how they never went cheesy in the way their relationship grew. It never felt phony. It felt so realistic, and real.

They both are the strength of the show. Their friendships (or.. "frienship" as the bike guy whould say") is just so great. I love all the movies references

The supporting characters are neat. Marsha, her daughter, Brian and Twist (Brian rocks!), The Dance music bike guy! It just such a great show overall.

Discuss.

Woot, Spaced rules. Buddy of mine from London here at school introduced me to it back in like I dunno, February or something and I can't stop praising it since. Check out season 3 episode 1 of Black Books for an AMAZING Simon Pegg cameo as a rival bookstore owner who is a tad bit high strung.

Maybe Jessica Stevenson nailed the Daisy role cause she wrote it? hehe.

Yeah. I don't have a region free DVD player otherwise I'd get this DVD. Of course that means suprnova was my best friend but i'm missing episode 2 and 6 from season 1

Personally i think this series was more "kevin smith" than kevin smith is.

It's so funny. Channel 4 haven't repeated it in AGES (ever?), I might just have to get the DVD. The guy who plays Brian is a comedy genius, you should see him in The Green Wing (a new, REALLY weird and takes time to get into Channel 4 comedy).

There's going to be a third series by the way. Apparently they've set that at the limit though so it doesn't get stale. No one actually knows when it'll happen, they've been talking about it for years, but it will apparently.

I <3 Spaced. Got the collectors edition yesterday and I'm working my way through all the extras. The out-takes are SO damn funny. Can't recommend it enough!

My absolute favourite scene from Spaced is Wheels dancing to the traffic lights, it's just so well done.

Yeah, I've said it before how I got hooked on it... and hooked my friends.

People STILL call me a bastard jokingly for getting them hooked on SPACED... :)

(Did I mention how Tycho from Penny Arcade's wife would tell random people who'd come to their house to watch this new show, start an episode and then leave the house (ie drive off to the store) with no explanation? :)

I do have the first episode of Green Wing. I need to grab the rest while they're still there... 500mb MPEGs... need more HD space... ok, now grabbing the second episode...

Have any of you seen "Keen Eddie"? It reminded me of Due South, but I think a lot of British tv fans would really like it. I need to find the DVD for it...
(One of the main stars is Julian Rhind-Tutt, who was in Black Books season 3 and is in Green Wing if I understood correctly.)

BTW, if you haven't, you should visit SPACED OUT - www.spaced-out.org.uk - the best site ever created for the show. The people on the forum (the original forum when series 2 was on the air) did some really amazing animated GIFs... I used to use one on GA from there. It was a shot rotating around the room of Brian looking at the canvas and then he'd spit paint onto it. Funny stuff.

Never seen Keen Eddie, but yeah, he's in Green Wing.

Speaking of Black Books 3, I didn't think much of it. I don't know if my tastes had changed since the second series or if it just wasn't as good, but I was pretty disappointed.

He was good, that was probably the best one. It just felt like they were going through the same material I'd seen before, there was nothing fresh.

Oh and the characters felt a bit too over the top. I know they're meant to be over the top, especially Bernard, but it almost felt like he was parodying himself this time.
