Awesome finale

loved the closing credits and seeing everybody in it.

I hope they seriously consider a spin off.

That was a great finale.

I really loved the shot of Spartacus running up the hill after Crassus, and his counter of Crassus' finishing move was fantastic.

Of course the 2nd season was all sorts of shit to me. But S1, Gods, and S3 were all top tier.
I can never with a straight face call the first season top tier. The first half was abysmal IMO. The only reason I kept watching was because people said it would get better and it definitely did, but those first episodes struck a really sour note.

Do you think that's because of quality, or because the show has a style you may have to get acclimated to?

I completely disagree. Even though the scale and budget were noticeably lower for the first season, there was an intimacy to it that was never quite matched in the subsequent seasons.

Yes, Season 1 is my favorite tv season ever. I've rewatched it a couple of times and it doesn't get old. Batiatus and Andy... so good.

I completely agree in the ending being unpredictable despite us knowing how history turns out. Didn't expect Spartacus to fight Crassus 1v1; that was pretty well done.

Did they go around the trench to meet Crassus? "Come with us." "Sure we'll take the long way around."

Got a little choked up at the end too.

I'm so surprised (and pleased) that Agron and Nasir lived. Someone needed a happy ending and I'm glad the writers decided that it'd be those two. TV needs more gay couples like Nagron.

I know this is weird, but I feel like I can hear him say "I Am Spartacus" while looking at this gif. I also arrived at the conclusion that Gannicus was right all along, he's no leader. I thought Crixxus, as impulsive as he was, showcased himself as a far better on the battlefield leader. Gannicus is just a beast of a fighter that will follow orders and follow them well, but he can't lead as naturally as the likes of Crixxus and Spartacus, and I think it showed somewhat in this episode. I know he was fighting an impossible battle, but he didn't seem to have the naturally chops for leadership as displayed by the likes of Crixxus and Spartacus. Crixxus' attempt on Rome was foolish, but he had better plans in mind until Naivia convinced him otherwise.

Either way, such an impressive episode.

Loved the finale. Well done!

I liked season one a lot, season two the best and hated season three, Roman characters sucked compared to Batiarus and co. four was up there with two for me.

i didn't liked the first 8 episode of the show much.even complained about it a little . but the final two episodes of the show were fantastic. unlike previous episodes action was good and slow mo was used only when needed. like when Crassus snatched the sword from the Spartacus and was doing a reversal. Gannicus end could have done better but still it was good specially cheering with arena in the end. one thing odd was Sibyl was shown happy at the end .
the only thing I disliked about the last two episodes was Ceaser role. He was just portrayed as average solider with no special skill where as in the beginning he was portrayed as some badass fighter. the only thing he managed to do was kill nevia, got his ass kicked by Gannicus and butt raped by a young boy. He was not even shown to make some strategy

This episode was totally epic. My heart was racing during the final battle. One of the better final episodes I ever seen for a TV show.

IRL ceasar probably would have been destroyed by an elite gladiator like gannicus in 1v1
ceasar was a brilliant politician & military commander not some uber badass fighter

but they didn't even show him making some tactics like a commander. i have no problems if they wanted to go this route but in the beginning he is shown to be a brute and during the invasion in the city he takes down many gladiators. but later on he is just for their eye candy.

also now all season have ended time to rate the series.

1- Spartacus : God of the Arena
2- Spartacus
3- Spartacus : War of the damned
100- Spartacus Vengeance

I agree. I hold the prequel in as high regard as well.

That's about right for me. Vengeance was truly horrid. Glad to see they improved dramatically this final season.

hopefully thats for the spinoff
the entire season should just be his gradual conquest of gaul

I'd probably swap Blood and Sand and Gods of the Arena..but yeah, Vengeance is certainly the worst of the 4 but still very watchable. Things didn't really get going until the arena fell.

That season does have some god tier Ashur though.

Hope fully you are right because as of right now i have no desire to see the spinoff beacuse what they have done to this character in this season

Blood and sand had very bad first few episodes but GOA was great from start to end and had the best fights.
Agree on last part tough

I could watch this all day. God I hated her.

Oh and Stalker, I'd remove the face cutting gif. I got banned for posting that once (no... seriously...), no need for someone else to fall to that.

Just saw the finale, I have been watching the show since it came on and I must say that is one of the best most satisfying endings I have ever seen. Just perfection.

I would have never thought such a juvenile looking show, one where everyone talks about Jupiter's cocks and there are tits everywhere would become this.

The show constantly delivered on what we wanted. I am sad to see it end. But man they had everything, even "I am Spartacus!". The entire finale battle was incredible. They nailed everything, Spartacus' death was done in such a way to give the best emotional impact.

Yeah you guys pretty much said everything already. Great finale. One thing I didn't expected was the emotional aspect though. I was already tearing up while watching the end but it wasn't until after a few hours when I was laying in bed and thinking about the whole series, the way they had come from the House of Battiatus and the arena of Capua only to all die in the end that I really had to cry. I really didn't expect it to be so emotional. Anyone else feel this way?

That was a great ending to a great show. I wish it got half the viewers that Walking Dead gets. Spartacus is a much better show.

Also, if you want read about DeKnight's new show "Incursion" that's in development, there's a GAF thread here for it.

Regarding a potential sequel to Spartacus, there were a lot of rumors back in January that Starz might be interested in a Caesar spinoff, but there haven't been any recent updates. DeKnight says he wouldn't be involved at all, but he has no problem with it. It sounds like Spartacus EP Rob Tabert would be running things if they ended up doing it, and Todd Lasance (Caesar on Spartacus) says he's all for it.

Thanks to watching that gif a million times... I can't unsee Spartacus having his hands up when Crassus is thrusting, then the camera zooms in and suddenly his hands are down, grasping the sword.

Is there a clip online anywhere of the credits? I got up and walked out of the room at the ending and missed the whole thing.

Gannicus, well there was no way anyone would be able to best in single combat but I didn't like his end at all. It really should have been on the battlefield. Possibly not at the hands of Caesar alone, but not the way I wanted or even expected him to go out.

The Egyptian had him beat in s2 before Onameus saved him.

imagine if the producers decided to do a full 180 on the storyline and somehow sparty's army also included crixus' army, you'd almost think that they could pull it off against crassus & co
