Finally, Spartacus' reign of terror has ended. It's a pity his crimes took so many good people like Gannicus and Saxa with him.

I'm kinda sad though. Saxa died, Gannicus died and to add insult to injury Agron's twink and Gannicus' wimpy little girlfriend remain alive. Oh well, at least they didn't pull some bullshit and have the good guys lose.

xenist, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no internet points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Quite possibly the greatest finale (And show) I've ever watched. Liam and Andy were both exceptional...more than exceptional, perfect.

I'm quite happy that there's been a community amongst GAF that appreciates this show. Thank you Starz, Deknight and everyone that watched and discussed it.

Cried like a little girl. I was expecting either Gannicus or Spartacus to survive and cause problems in Thrace or Gaul.

Would you guys honestly root for Ceaser or Crassus in a spinoff? I mean, both characters have redeeming qualities, but they've ultimately been portrayed as bad and aren't really protagonists.
Crassus and Pompey no, but Caesar has been clearly set-up as somewhat more redeemable: the way he treats Kore, his problems with Crassus.

You can't handle the truth.

Holy shit, someone pointed out on reddit that Spartacus threw the spear at the Roman messenger to prevent him from stepping onto the trap. Genius.

I still can't decide whether the season 1 finale or this was better. I might have to give an edge to the season 1 finale because it was the first time the show's gloves came off.

oh a caesar series where he outwits both Pompey and Crassus will be glorious and then you can lead into an Antony/Cleopatra series..

make it so STARZ!

Before they go towards Antony/Cleopatra they need to handle the events of the Commentarii de Bello Gallico. The war between Caesar and Ambiorix for instance would be a perfect follow-up for the action of Spartacus.

Like when he told Naveia where a slaves place was and rammed a sword through her?

Like how he showed disgust at Crassus for bombing Roman troops. What he did to Naevia, was in essence very much justified for a Roman to do. A Caesar spin-off can also make him more likeable than he is now

He still wasnt a good guy. I'll root for Octavian.

amazing finale. i had a feeling that they were going with the spartacus dying route- but the events leading to that moment constantly kept me in the edge of my seat- and everything was far from predictable.

actually makes a change for tv shows to actually end instead of dragging on for far to long

Good finale. Kind of wish that Spartacus died at the hands of Crassus though, but whatever.

I was cheering for Caesar when that happened. I have wanted to see her die since Vengeance.

Amazing finale to an amazing show. Good to see that they didn't cop out in any way. You don't see many series finales being that satisfying goddamn. When Spartacus caught Crassus' sword I actually clapped my hands in excitement.

Spartacus forever! Sad this show is over but so damn happy we got 4 seasons of a fantastic show.

if this is sarcasm, youre not very good at it

We need a GIF of Spartacus catching the sword in his hands and the doomface he gave Crassus immediately thereafter. That moment gave me goosebumps.

First serial series since BSG I religiously watched on broadcast night every week.

Best depiction of a large scale battle I have ever seen on TV, and the best series finale I have ever seen as well. Throughout the entire episode I was on the edge of my seat as I wondered whether or not the series would go all out like Inglourious Bastards. One of the best hours of TV I have ever witnessed!

Wow, great finale to a great show. Aside from the first few episodes of season 1 this show has been some of the best television I've ever seen. I will miss it, but I am glad they concluded things so gracefully instead of drawing things out for extra seasons.

While watching the ending montage it made me realize just how many great and memorable characters this show has had. I thought the credits were a really nice touch.

The final episode fucking delivered. I love that finishing move by Crassus! only to be countered lol

Yeah that was the ultimate moment for me. So well shot, perfect atmosphere. And I know I was thinking "O shit no here it comes, no fuck, he's going to gut him like the first dude." NOPE.

Rome had Vorenus and Pullo as anchors since the other Romans were kind of dicks.

People rooted for Batiatus even though he was a bad guy. The Roman politics were always an interesting part of the show.

This may have been the best series finale I have ever seen.

Also, I thought the depiction of a large scale battle was brilliantly done. How many films, let alone tv series, have depicted large scale battles as clearly as this episode did?
