Some of his nitpicking is the kinda thing you could do for every movie ever made and make them look bad. So no, not really sound.

Martin's not wrong in that the details of the specific actions taken in Spiderman 2 are pretty stupid. But they're also pretty stupid in Spiderman 3, as well. The stupid actions in SM2 at least advance the plot in a coherent fashion that creates interesting and meaningful character interaction and character arcs.
I can't say the same for SM3.

Who gives a shit if he is on point? My point of the whole thing is that you can make the GOAT movies seem like ass if you nit pick like he does for this movie. Just because he admits petty nitpicking, doesn't make his points seem any less ridiculous.

It's not better than 2 for me, but I sure enjoyed it a lot. It's up there with the rest and I'd even argue it's better than 1.

I always considered SM2 to be the most over rated CBM until a couple of years ago. I don't know what it was, but when i watched it not too long ago i see why everything works. I still prefer SM1 overall. His criticisms especially about Doc Ock is valid, I still think his story was weak sauce. But all his scenes were still fun to watch. Great action and music. The cheese and MJ romance angle was a tad much at times. Other than that i would say SM2 is in my top 10 with SM1 in my top 5.
But there is no universe where SM3 is the better movie even on a high as fuck laughing with friends level. Too bloated, the retcon stuff was god awful, Harry with the amnesia, Venom playing 3rd wheel when he deserves his own movie, the god damn butler scene, terrible love triangle story, and i can probably go on but that's the top of my head.
All that said, SM3 > ASM1&2.
