I can only vaguely remember the comics I read as a kid. I'm kinda sure there were Dr. Strange & Spider-Man crossover adventures. OR i REALLY wanted one, obv I'm not the only one, and this is IT. Especially those two.

Dr Strange and Peter were good friends in the comics, yes. Strange often looks out for him, visits him in his dreams when he senses something is amiss in Peter's life, etc. There is some good Strange and Peter stuff in J. Michael Straczynski's long run on Amazing Spider-Man. Loved his run when I was young, up until the end when he suddenly decided to do crazy shit with a certain character from Peter's distant past.

Something I noticed. It seems from this scene strange is fighting Peter and he has the time stone around his neck. I dont think this is the original strange i think this is the evil strange from the what if episode we didnt see yet.

Mephisto perhaps. He's a shapeshifter after all.

I think the set up is lame. Peter is worried people know his name? Never been a problem for anyone else at this point.
And then you have Strange fucking up a spell, acting out of character in even doing it when he was all serious up until this point.

Feels unfocused. Will watch when on Disney+

He also has that necklace in a number of screens so not sure.

I am decently excited for this now and I am coming from a place where Tom is the worst spiderman yet and don't care about his movies at all.

Is Matt Murdock in the film? (Dare devil).

If he is in it I hope he is just ordinary Matt Murdock and not yet Daredevil. If he is Daredevil it just causes too many continuity issues.
Start fresh and you can say it is Daredevil in the MCU continuity and he is a different Daredevil in the Netflix alternate universe.

It looks like they’ve incorporated parts of ‘One More Day/Brand New Day’ from the comics. While that was a somewhat unpopular storyline it might serve well here.

Is it me or is Dr. Strange crazy, CRAZY irresponsible here?

I mean, what the fuck dude? Shouldn't he know better by now?

OK fair play this looks fucking great. Dafoe and Molina are the 2 greatest comic book villains ever in cinema in my opinion. Fuck.

Why would there be continuity issues? If I recall, the Daredevil Netflix series was set after the events in Avengers Assemble - Daredevil would be a well-established character by the events of NWH. This would be an ideal time to introduce MM/DD to the MCU.

So, another Spider-Man film where the plot is driven by a completely different character then. And Strange’s actions here are completely out of character.

One day I hope Disney give us a Spider-Man film where Spider-Man is allowed to be the driving force in his own movie.

I see where your coming from but it’s intentional I think it’s obvious this didn’t Dr Strange as we know him it’s some alt reality version.
I was more unimpressed with how Peter seems to be some sort of bumbling idiot in these movies but that’s just my opinion.
Also it’s a Sony movie this won’t be on Disney Plus any time soon.

I hope they show each Spiderman's unique styles. Tom always felt clumsy and fumbling in every film. Andrew's version seemed aware of the 4th wall, and Tobey would come off as the veteran whose seen some shit.

Netflix series are not part of the MCU. Any TV show prior to the Disney+ shows are not part of the MCU. That includes Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter.

If the MCU now wants to use The Hand, Electra, Purple Man, The Punisher or any of the characters from those TV shows it would be a pain in the butt for them continuity wise. Easier to say those shows are part of the multiverse.

Trailer looks really good.

Hyped for Strange and all the comebacks. Not hyped for Spider Kid at all.

Maguire is pretty much confirmed now I think, just hope they drag Andrew into the movie too.

How does Doc Ock know who Peter is in this reality?

Possibly creative editing for the trailer.

Doc Ock could be talking to Toby Maguire Spider-Man, but the trailer is just edited to make it look like he's talking to Holland. That way, they don't spoil the surprise that Garfield and Maguire are in this movie........well at least until the second trailer anyway.

I hope Maguire's first scene is his iconic dance in spider-man 3 but on Spider suite.

I didn't even think about this until I read your comment, and now you've ruined my hype.

Thanks, jerk. Now that's all I want too.

/s - but only about hating you. I do want that movie now.

Alternatively, I hope they do something with Venom. Not a big thing. Maybe an after credits scene. I really want a good Venom v. Spider-Man movie.

I don't think anyone knows in the wild. There were some rumors about him being in the same area they were filming for a day or two, but that could be a coincidence.

He’s in it.

Okay that kinda looked good, this might actually be a decent MCU Spider Man.
Ironic really.
But I did hear they have the teams from SM & ASM working on this so maybe that's why.
Also this doesn't seem to connect much to the TV shows.
Makes it seem like Dr Strange is responsible, and even if he isn't and it is connected.
With that power, why can't he see what's been going on Disney +, doesn't have a subscription?

Also this doesn't seem to connect much to the TV shows.

“If you want to understand everything in future Marvel movies, he says, you’ll probably need a Disney+ subscription, because events from the new shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Scarlet Witch will be a key character in that movie, and Feige points out that the Loki series will tie in, too. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before.” “

They can’t. The Sony-Marvel deal specifically bans Avi Arad from these movies.
That's one guy,
you do know the majority of the crew on Homecoming & Far From Home was from ASM1&2 too.

No they were‘t. The only connection was Amy Pascal, Sony produced ASM1&2, Marvel Studios has produced this trilogy. That was the deal Sony made. The ASM1&2 team failed so bad they asked Marvel to make the movies for them. Where have you been for the last decade?

The big difference being no one gives a shit about that relationship in the MCU.

Considering Spiderman films historically have been really bad when they try to juggle too many villains it's hard to get super hyped over this. But it does seem like Marvel is really making the most of its last movie.

Yeah I said crew not director and story & Producers those can change with each film sometimes.
And yes they effect the film's mostly
What I was saying is the majority of the crew are the same.
Even crew from other Marvel films are featured in ASM credits.
Even Kevin Feige is involved with every Spider-Man film

You realize that studios outsource stuff like effects to ILM, etc? And those people work on multiple movies across countless companies but have zero say in the actual production. Right?
