Spider-Man: No Way Home - First Official Trailer

I wonder how they will explain mysterio knowing about the multiverse, since its clearly mentioned in the movie.

my prediction: Ravonna Renslayer manipulated Strange into helping spiderman

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
You realize that studios outsource stuff like effects to ILM, etc? And those people work on multiple movies across countless companies but have zero say in the actual production. Right?
Yes, hence why the majority of MCU Spidy team have a long history with Spider-Man.
But I heard there are a lot more working on this one including people from the Original SM films.

But that has nothing to do with the creative side. The script, etc. That’s just effects and technical stuff. And those people work on everything, including shit like Ghostbusters 2016. Stop pretending Grip on a movie set has any say in the quality of it.

Went to an early screening thanks to a friend. Imo, it's the best of everything Phase 4 so far.. top 10 favorite MCU film, if not top 5!
Post that in the OT.

Got chills @ Green Goblin and Doc Ock showing up.

This might be the first Spider-Man of the trilogy I am hyped for. If only because it harkens back to the GOAT trilogy.

Why does Doc Ock look like a lesbian

You shut your mouth

I’m intrigued. But, Zendaya being in this movie is not any less annoying than it was in the first two. A character created in the MCU and not the comic. Taking up valuable character time from someone that IS in the comics.
Uh, what?

She's Mary Jane.

Looks like it may or not be the Raimi Octavius. Could be a variant that looks like him.

I'd like to think that the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man would be the official Raimi one though, either . Would just feel like a missed opportunity otherwise

That doesn’t bother me in and of itself.

what does bother me is that two movies in, they’ve failed to establish much, if any, character for her, or chemistry between the two of them.

I've always enjoyed the Spider Man movies, The Amazing Spider Man was OK, but the original 3 (yes, even 3 was not too bad) and now the new 3.

I'm hype that Sylvie may have released the Beyonder. And for Mephisto ofc.

This is the same company that just changed the name of an imaginary 40 year old spaceship because it had "Slave" in it. I doubt they want the controversy in putting the literal devil in their $20 billion superhero franchise.

They worship the devil so I assume they will be cool with representing him in a good light.

No one said anything about creative control, it's pretty obvious from the last two films where the creative control is.
You're the one being defensive about it.
It's almost as if you think Homecoming & Far From Home was the best Spider Man films made.
They wasn't imo, regardless of Boxoffice and reviews, both Spider Man 1&2 and the first TASM are better Spidy films.
Hell I even rather watch Spider Man 3 and TASM2 then the two MCU Spider-Man films.
And I love the MCU.
BUT!
I think this will change with No Way Home.

That sounds reasonable.
Yet, more and more supernatural is getting eased into the franchise. Maybe they won't be so on the nose with it.

My excitement and hopes partly comes from the only marvel comic series that got me to collect one in full during childhood.

Ghost Rider where it ended with Zarathos and Centurious ending up trapped in the Soul Crystal.

I agree with you on all this. No Way Home will basically be the Days of Future Past of the Spiderman franchise which is why its getting crazy hype. The 2 MCU Spiderman movies are trash outside of Keaton in Homecoming. I'm tired of seeing Spider-sidekick to the MCU, I mean christ he's probably the 2nd most popular superhero on screen besides Batman he doesn't need help from MCU characters he can easily hold his own.

You can blame Sony for that. They're so desperate for MCU money that the deal requires each of the Marvel produced Spider-Man movies to include a MCU character.

Arrogant Strange is back! I'm not quite digging the fact that the plot is driven by the Sorcerer Supreme fucking up a spell. I know I know, characters aren't supposed to be perfect but we've already done genius meddles in something they shouldn't leading to bad stuff trope already. I hope there is a little more depth to why the spell went wrong in the movie, maybe connecting to Loki/Wandavision events. Otherwise I liked it.

Tobey and Garfield for the traditional end of trailer two hype blast!

I think it's a variant DR.STRANGE.

Our DR.STRANGE was kind of humble and would never make a spell like this, I believe our strange is already trapped in another multiverse and will be found by Scarlet witch in Multiverse of madness film.

The Dr. Strange stuff was probably a misdirect but it's incomplete information at the very least, so I don't really see the point of getting angry about it already

Comments like this is proof that people have not watched ANY of the Doctor Strange appearances in the MCU. Especially not his solo movie. The guy is super arrogant and always pushes the limits.
Yeah... I think people are only remembering his Infinity War scenes, when he was literally fighting for the life of everyone thus being super serious, and takes that as "thats who Dr. Strange" is, instead of his more normal "God complex to the extreme" self. I think thats more a failing of Infity Wars than anything else, Strange's character really was pretty flat in that.

I didn’t even remember people knew Peter’s identity. Far from home was that forgettable I guess.

Me too. I remember thinking the way they brought Mysterio "abilities" into the movie was pretty smart, but I have a hard time remembering much past that.

Anyway, Dafoe as GG is going to be great again. Curious to see if they try to incorporate Venom into this at all. Are they going for the Sinister Six? Looks like most of the players are here. Electro, Ock, GG (was he ever in SS? I cant remember), Lizard, Vulture would be easy to bring back.

If the Venom sequel is as successful as the original, I would be curious to see if the mouse starts to lean on Feige to bury the hatchet.

That won't change that the fact that Avi Arad's universe is shit. And Venom 1 only made its money from China. Doubt Venom 2 will get that this time around.

Venom only made $213 million in the US. It made most of its money in China. Without that, it's a flop (needed $450M to break even).

I own all of them. In his solo movie he has an arrogance to him, but realizes use of eye of agamotto should be something only used in dire situations. He also learns humility, Strange making a spell that will change people sounds unlike him. I know he is arrogantly, but not in a way where he would inadvertently do a spell thats was for personal gain.

Why would strange have a disagreement with peter that would lead to them fighting as seen in the trailer? It is believed strange tries to undo his so called spell, in doing so would kill all those in our reality who are not suppose to be, and spiderman disagrees with them being wiped out.

Where did strange try to make a spell of this magnitude during endgame/infinity war to stop thanos, like bring in another thanos that was good? I think our strange is trapped somewhere by this steven strange from another universe, as seen with events of Loki with things now being changed because our timeline is all fucked.

Or

A couple major characters close to Peter are killed by Dafoe's Goblin and he's trying to undo that.

No, not what people have been saying that are in the know.

I've heard Doc oc, green goblin, electro were dead in their reality's, but with the calamity that has happened between wandavision with our hex being broken, and our timeline splinterring out of control other timelines/universes are merging.

Isn't this kind of similiar to comic civil war aftermanth where EVERYONE agree that Peter reveal himself during Civil war was a horriblke idea and decide to undo it.

WandaVision didn't have anything to do with the Multiverse. It was LOKI that caused it.

Wanda is in Multiverse of Madness because she has the Darkhold.

No way is 2 doing worse than 1 with Carnage now front and center. The only factor I can see 1 doing better is covid related, so it may not even be a fair comparison.

RE the spell that Peter wants cast, I'll remind people that the advertising for Far From Home made it look like the multiverse would be in that film.
So don't be surprised that even though it looks like Stephen is casting that spell in this trailer doesn't mean he actually is.
This will definitely include the multiverse, because we know there are multiple characters from past films, and we also know that the multiverse is part of this next phase. It's been setup with Wanda and Loki already. This is totally happening.

Do people still like spiderman?
Why not? This is the best Spider-man to date. Toby was too old, and played a bit too much of a sad-sack. Garfield was a bit too much of a jerk. Holland plays a good mix of naive and smart, and he looks the right age for a hs Parker. That and he's actually athletic enough to be a convincing hero.

I think with Marvel's involvement, we've gotten 2 of the best outings for the character. Raimi's 2nd film is still the best one to date, but the 2 Holland Spideys have been good. This trailer gives me hope that we'll actually see Spider-man taking on a supervillain, instead of regular dudes who had fancy tech (Vulture and Mysterio). Given that he's probably the physically strongest Avenger now, he's deserving of a foe who can push him to his limits. Especially now that he's kinda matured into the role, with full access to Stark tech.
