I've founder myself most comfortable with the splattershot, so probably going to be using that family of guns the most.

Based on the testfire, what weapon types are you guys going to go with? I had the most fun with the Charger and the Jr, so that's what I'm going with.
Roller if I can't learn the Charger. But the weapon that picked my interest was not in the demo (paintbrush).

I know it shouldn't matter much, but you think you can also change the colour of the gun from orange to green as well? It's bugging me and I don't know why lol

Jr. here. I also liked the triangle grenade since it can manipulate where the enemy goes since it can sit in place and the bubble shield was so helpful to let it sit until you're under ink-fire PLUS it can also shield buddies.

I'm gonna laugh if that stays my ideal set up in the full game since this felt like a perfect roll-out for me.

say, looking at the Saltspray Rig layout, can't a sniper pretty much hold the entire lower section of the map from the higher platform next to the starting position while only being vulnerable to other snipers?

also, after watching a lot of videos, I actually think the roller might be a little underpowered, especially in the other game modes (maybe). A team consisting of mostly rollers seems to be really easy to shut down from a safe distance, slowly pushing them back to their starting position

It's hard to say because we only tried 4 weapons and we don't know how upgrades would work.

It's entirely possible that due to upgrades certain things become OP late game.

Personally I sucked the most with the charger so I will probably try to use that a lot and git gud

You could probably flush them out with the super jump.

And yeah, I don't think people realize that retreating is probably the best option when you're using roller. If your opponent is halfway deccent with aiming, he's going to get you 100% of the time.

Splattershot for me, the extra range sure is nifty for vertical positioning and allows to paint much faster. Wasn't a fan of the Demo's special weapon but I'll see.

Need to get better with the rifle, seems like such a cool weapon to master, but admittedly I spent little time with it on the demo

Using the charger to defend hot zones is a great way to rack up points, especially if you have the high ground. I tend to rush to the center of Walleye and claim the high ground in the middle in the beginning of the match. It helps slow down the timid inklings and allows my team to push forward easier. Not only that, but using the Charger's special is great on that spot. Then that jerk with the splattershot sneaks up behind you and splats you. =(

Can share: First three worlds of single player and amiibo levels.
Can not share: Absolutely no information about the scrolls. (Wondering what this is all about.)

Other than that all is fine and can be shared.

Could you confirm that the city area runs at 60fps?
The Splatoon Direct had all city footage at 30fps and it got me a bit worried.

This exactly what I did one match and the only time (before using gyro) I felt useful with the Sniper Rifle. Essentially you keep the entire bottom platform mainly under you're ink. At the same time there will still be a significant section you can't get to behind the boxes in the middle.

With how little area you have access to I'm not sure if it's worth it compared to constantly moving.

I don't know if you all know (and if it goes here) but besides Saltspray Rig and Walleye Warehouse, here are the levels shown so far:

-Blackbelly Skatepark
-Arowana Mall
-Urchin Underpass
To be at launch.

Camp Triggerfish

Unnamed Construction Site

Port Mackerel

Factory Stage

Town Stage (apparently NOT Arowana Mall)

City/Railroad Stage

Beyond that there is a shot of the 'waiting room/tutorial' with more than one inkling - so there could be a modified version of it, but its doubtful.

So that's 11 of the supposed 14?

seeing these levels which had been shown in action in earlier days, only strongly and firmly suggest to me that all they will all be on disc as locked content. can't wait to do these..... so soon...

You can and it works well. The only thing that can reach (in the demo at least) without putting themselves in great danger is another charger and grenades. You can reach at least partially behind the boxes with your grenades. The other advantage it gives you is control of the ramp connecting it and your sides lower pathway. Allowing you to hold off any potential flanks to your teammates in the middle.

Edit: I could've sworn you could reach the other end. I know grenades can. Regardless you can still hold the same area. At most you'd have a draw if it was two chargers on each overwatch position

I'm not really sure what the term "world" means to Nintendo in the context of Splatoon single player so I'm not going to comment on it from here on out.
Stage 4 is the first boss.

Played 1:10 so far. Some single player, a few online matches. I'm level 3 now. Rollers getting killed left and right.

If that's the case I think it's fair to assume that the game has 28 levels along with a final boss as the Direct seemed to imply.

The the range isn't far enough. You can shoot ink over the area but you can't actually shoot all the way to the far end to "kill" another player or even to the opposite platform.

Does it take long to level? And can you see what the max level is?

Paraphrasing here.

Are you able to share Amiibo level unlocks? I really want to know which amiibo unlock which arcade games!

I need those squid beatssss.

there's another sniper with a greater range (E-liter 3k). Will be interesting to see if the range is long enough to reach the other platform

I'm not really sure what the scope is for with the limited range of the charger weapons

Can someone with a review copy record footage of Recon mode? I would like to know if you can a free moving camera instead of only being able to be an inkling and explore the map.

If there is a free moving camera, an overhead view of the whole map would be much appreciated.

mad jealous of yall with review copies. I've been experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the testfire demo.

If it makes you feel any better, this review copy won't carry over any save data to the retail release.

If no one does it prior to me getting the chance, I'll do it.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Scope's range is in-between that of the E-Liter and the charger we had in the demo.
