It's for the best. I waited in line at my local target for the 3 pack and they only had 3 which of course sold out before I could get one. Nintendo are honestly just trolling casuals at this point. It's a line of products which are advertised to the general public of which most of the line up will only ever be owned by the hardest of the hardcore fans. Hopefully Amazon comes through for me tonight or I'm never buying another one of these stupid Amiibo things just on principle. My kids are going to be disappointed that I couldn't get the 3 pack today, but oh well.
 
Just picked it up from Game, they gave me the squid hat thing also which is pretty cool, they said it has been selling well today, they guy next to me was buying it also. Looking forward to playing it this evening.

Well...yeah. It is my first amiibo and it never occured to me that you might have to pay for the costume DLC and additionally unlock it as well before you can use it.

This kinda sucks.
 
-played from eShop launch to sun rise
-made it to lvl 11
-going to try to get some more matches in now before I walk out the door for the day...
 
Just went to pick up my pre-order. Since the UK special editions were lifted, that one was obviously out of the window, so they ended up giving me a hat and discount as compensation.

Edit: Now to wait until next Wednesday to get back home and play.
 
I played for about an hour after the midnight unlock. Had a blast, but did t do nearly as well as I did in the test fire last weekend.

Looking forward to playing some more this afternoon and wish I didn't have a colleague's wedding to attend tonight!

Yes.
You get weapon blueprints from beating bosses which unlock new custom weapons with different sub and special specials than usual, like a charger with the sprinkler sub weapon and killer wail.

I think you unlock some gear for beating it too, but I'm not 100% on that (haven't beaten it yet)

see this is what is weird. I was at the gym and finished at about 7:45. Headed over to target in the same complex. They only allow 2 total per customer, but I got splatoon with the water gun, the the pack, and jiggly puff. If they didn't have such a dumb limit I would have got solver Mario as well. Drive 5 miles to the next target and all they had all the splatoon amiibos and pac man left. That's after I stopped at Walmart as well. Do my local targets were plenty stocked on the three pack.

The tree one is already a stage in single player, and one of the most open ones. The majority of this are much more open than the ones we are playing now on multi so the endgame and tactics are going to be completly different.
Shows how Nintendo is trying to make different types of game to keep people interested each week.

When you beat the game you get the single player suit and the octoling suit as clothes for the multiplayer.

Even with all the bullshit amiibos have been, I figured Nintendo would at least properly supply them for splatoon.

Silly me.
 
I'm 33. Any older gamers on this? It doesn't really matter but I'm just curious. I can't wait until I get off work to play. I actually might leave early lol.

I'm about to face the second boss and I've got a couple of scrolls. Can I do anything with them yet?
 
The reaction this game is getting seems pretty good. I haven't picked my copy yet as I am at work, but sensing slot of excitement about this release. It's making me want to get home ASAP now to play. What is the most played mode right now then? I'm assuming online multiplayer is where this game shines? Haven't heard too much about the SP stuff.
 
I bought Bundle for £33.80, sold my Splatoon for £21, so basically, I spent £12.80 on squid Amiibo...now to buy Splatoon on eshop when I get home.

Go to the weapon shop and it will unlock new weapons to buy. They have the same stats of the ones already available but come with different secondary and special weapons
 
Having a blast with this so far. I'm not doing nearly as well with the Charger as I did in the testfire, though once I get a better feel for the maps and where the good vantage points are and how to get to them I'll do better. Also I just unlocked a Charger with shorter range but less charge up time and based on what I saw in the test alley that might be a better all-around weapon. It's still not going to do as well in close-quarters versus another weapon but I think it will be better for ground coverage.

My connections have been pretty solid overall too, with one exception last night when I couldn't join a battle and got the "could not connect to partner's device" error. Other than that the servers seem to be handling the load pretty well.

I was reading to my son's preschool this morning (I normally am at work by 6:00). I noticed Target was open at 8:00. School starts at 8:30, we got to Target 5 mins before opening. There was a line of about 20 people.
"Hey, you guys here for Splatoon too?"
"It's new Amiibo day, dude."

Oh! These adults were crazy. Luckily Target limited Amiibos to only 2 per person. I was just going to get the game but they had the three-pack of Splatoon Amiibos going fast, luckily we got one and the game. Haha.
And we made it to school on time!
 
Got questions about the game

1- I can play on the GamePad while the other player plays on the TV?
2- Can we both go online this way???
