Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Wonder how much range that thing will have, and what maps will make it matter.

Excellent

probably that skyscraper map tbh

This slow rollout of content is really nice. I played too much when this first released and was feeling pretty burned out, but Kelp Dome is bringing me back. (Thankfully, I like Kelp Dome way more than Port Mackerel. That map is a nightmare.)

Kelp Dome really feels like a map intended for ranked though. In Turf War, I find you can travel around without seeing a single enemy for most of the time. It's harrowing in Splat Zones though. When the enemy team takes control of the center, there's just too much space they can hide in. Echolocator and Sensor Bombs feel even more useful than normal.

the deco is just too good

Both are great IMO. On the mall and warehouse its all about the OG .52 gal because that wall completely shuts down lanes. Heck on the mall you pop it at the top of the hill in the middle and lob shots over it and it gets a ton of kills as folks back down the hill to avoid the wall and then typically wait at the foot of the hill to charge when it dies. They end up getting splatted for waiting there lol.

The Deco is great for the wider stages and especially skatepark. Since you don't have the squelcher range to take down the tower in the middle you can use the .52 deco to cover the ground and protect it but once someone climbs the tower you can climb it and point blank seeker repeatedly safely by just hangin out on the tower wall since they can't get a shot that close to the wall to knock you off. Makes life hell for them up there because they can't kill you and you just keep showing up and exploding. They get zero work done vs .52 gal and in between kills you lockdown most of the ground by yourself unopposed.

I still prefer the deco for those maps because I always love leading with a seeker, hiding in ink for a second or two to see/hear what it did, then pop out and start shooting

Which is fine. It just makes it easier in ranked to use the OG .52 gal on the stages I mentioned with narrow lanes because it allows for long holding of a position safely. Almost indefinitely because it forces them to outright stop and leave because the inkwall lasts so long. Plus it lets me just turn and deal with pincer attacks pretty well when the inkwall is out in those stages compared to splitting my focus armed with the seeker. Seeker is generally best, but in narrow lane stages on rank its the OG for me every time. Lets you get the counter down easily.

Kelp Dome is much better in ranked in my opinion. The center of the map is well-designed and I like the walls that lead straight to the mid from the spawn point in ranked, not really a fan of the side areas. The splatzone is large and it's position makes it difficult to claim or keep

I don't know if that map will be that great for Chargers. There seems to be a lot of vertical aiming which in my experience is hard for any weapon but especially Chargers. Best Charger map is still Port and it's hard to see what will top it.

Teammates inking the bottom platform on Saltspray splat zones..

*head explodes*

Bottom middle section of the map? lol ...yeah they done gave up. If folks rush down there they leave aaaaaaaaaaall the lanes free to ink, plus the top and the open middle AND that spot is close to enemy respawn anyhow so it NEVER stays covered as its on the way out of the base. Plus its ass to defend it once down there because the overhanging roads near the respawn offer prime bombing, and sniping.

Always killed me when we would be close, someone would see that one spot uninked and rush there to try and cover that extra bit so we'd win and then every dumbass I'm partnered with would think it smart to go help him once they see where he's going allowing the entire battlefield to get inked over in seconds by the opposition.

I was in a game last night where my team was winning, and we only needed another 15 points for the knockout, but the other team had control and was about to start chipping away at their remaining 35 points. I look at the map and one of our guys is on the bottom platform charging up...

We fail in the 3 on 4 and they get the knockout

But you don't see much of that in the higher rank lobbies. People usually know better.

I saw it being used everywhere in my matches yesterday. Goddamn bubbler

Pretty much why I use it, cover the ground see the enemy, splat bomb into my bombs ink when the enemy gets close, bubble out of the ink and get an easy kill streak.

I got disconnected my last two matches. Router has ink on it or something. I'm only about a match away from level 16.

Also they should make the new maps a mandatory part of the rotation for at least one day.

Ive not got far in single player mode yet so havent got aerospray yet (level 17 rank though) whats better? JR or aero?

Aerospray has faster firing rate but lower damage. Both have about the same range, but the Aerospray's firing rate makes spreading ink and raising your score much easier

I can see what you mean. Hopefully we'll find out soon lol, I want that map p bad

Kelp Dome be pretty great though

"Oh hey I'll try to reroll abilities, never done that yet"

First try spike gave me 3 damage bonuses on my ninja squid shirt
I'll take it.

Aero is for scrubs. You can get a lot of points with it but that's about it. Out of those two I would use Jr. personally.

Both have their uses. Splattershot lets you get super aggro with bubble to take down the enemy after they see what a problem your rate of fire is. Aerospray covers territory super fast and the gold one nets you sweet stuff like the mines and inkdrop so its pretty much a giant inking onlslaught. One goes all in on inking the other lets you flip tactics towards taking down threats on the map to help the team. Both are good. Ideally i'd like one of each a .52 gal deco and an inkbrushor echolocating sniper on my team.

Has this game been getting worse and worse as for as lag and server disconnects go for anyone else?! Last night was especially bad. I love this game but damn this is getting annoying! >:|

Kinda felt that way to me, but perhaps some of that is perception bias. Last night my first five matches all had 1 or 2 people on my team disconnect mid match. I played a good bit after that and it was okay, and I know I've grumbled about disconnects days before. Probably about as good / bad as it has always been.

Been playing like a sack of shite the last couple of days and I just can't manage to play as well as I used to. Makes me lose motivation ;_;

For me yeah. I've started getting instances where a message about the connection being unstable pops up and I stop moving for a moment before it kicks me out. That never happened to me in the first week.

That's 120k (or more...) you fool!
#spykesellingatahighprice

The shades though

Same, started going downhill when I got matched with terrible team players for 7 or 8 games in a row (seriously noone else got over 2 splats in the entire run) and from there my Rank has gone from a solid B back to a C (not even C+)

This was me last night; played for about three hours straight and never went above Toasty on the freshness meter. Talking to Judd at the end of a long play session and only getting 100 G is like putting salt on the wound

Well as more people buy the game, more people with horrible internet are connecting online, and if said people with horrible internet become the host...

Is that current in Japan? There's already some little changes to the world a day before Splatfest? If so that's really cool

I enjoy aero on turf wars. I get more kills consistently with it and I ink up the floors fast.

Splat zones is all splatter shot pro tho
