Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

he's a dj, so he's powered by energy drinks and pizazz

You know, I'm disappointed you never fight
a straight up giant octopus

Actually the final boss is a pun in Japanese: "DJ Takowasa". Takowasa is raw Ocotpus with wasabi-sauce, that's why he uses radish/wasabi.

Why use the Kraken? It can always be avoided and is practically useless
according to this thread.

honestly bubble would be even better, but the Kraken is fine too. Both give you invulnerability, but you can give the bubble to teammates and they can use ranged attacks. In truth the Kraken is a slightly worse bubble

my lag is much more noticeable with a fast-firing weapon, heh

What gear are you using with the squelcher? Ink saver? How does it benefit from damage buffs?

While they've never given clear dates/timeframes aren't they unlocking content much quicker than expected? Not sure if that's a good sign tbh

In some tightly contested areas, I've noticed (and sadly done the same myself at least once) that people can be leave themselves open to other opponents when they've suddenly got to avoid a kraken and got splattered as a result. I think it was on the large platform on the rig map that someone on my team was using kraken to deliberately flush opponents out - that might have been an accident but if so, it was a happy one that occurred a couple of times.

Nozzlenose! Probably my most anticipated out of the list of upcoming weapons. Hopefully my internet gets fixed.

Never noticed the brands on these weapons too.

I don't think there's been any notification about how many weapons are being added this way. Until we know exactly what all the additional content is and when it was added, I think it's very hard to realistically say how well that they're staggering their release. (Although my gut feelin says they're doing it nicely. )

wow, mega lag at the end, I was nearly invincible lol. Sorry Doc :3

Ink resistance, Tenacity, increased charge rate - but I just started using something else than chargers, really. I want to spam the Kraken as often as possible, the invulnerability is nice
How does it benefit from damage buffs?

not at all, as far as I can tell

e: aaand connection error, time for a break

Was using it a bit for today and charge rate up + reduced ink usage combined are pretty nice for it. It is fun to use and a good spacing and support weapon. Also had the impression that damage up is useless.

It is great for spacing and support, but of course suffers in damage output, coverage and cqc. It is fun to annoy people with it, but (at least I) wasn't able to hold my position against teams storming up on me.

When you walk on enemy ink, your icon actually shows up on their map. I get what you mean though; avoid painting obvious paths that show what you're up to.

That explains how a guy was waiting for me yesterday and splatted me in the face just as I turned a corner :P I thought he had a spidersense or something.
Thanks for the info, this will be really useful.

And yeah, avoid painting obvious paths. Another way is painting two paths so the enemy can´t see which one you take from the map. This works great with the charger, not with rollers obviously.

as far as I know, no matter how much Damage Up you have, it will always take 4 hits to kill with the Squelcher

it will take you slightly longer to kill someone and you should avoid close combat with basically every other player with a fast-firing weapon, but you also have the longest range of them all. Keep them at distance and you should be fine. But like I said, I just started using it

Just rage quit my first ranked match. Had an Inkzooka and started to shoot, charger teammate shows up and stands in front of me, and then another teammate shows up and starts bunny hopping and shooting in front of me.

So I picked up the Best Buy Wii-U deal with Splatoon yesterday.

This is a very damn good game.

My only complaint is that I picked up a Pro Controller as well thinking that I'd be using that instead of the Pad... only to find out that's impossible.

That's on me though, I didn't do the research like I shoulda.

So I've only put a few hours into playing but it seems like this is going to be my new jam for awhile.

Just get yourself an adapter thingy and use it on your PC. You get a ridiculous 80 hours life out of the battery. :Oo

The new Nozzlenose allegedly has a 3-round burst mechanic. Really looking forward to trying that out, but not hyped for more killer wail.

Ultimately waiting for carbon roller before I fully commit to a main weapon.

oh my, the Costum E-Liter has the Kraken (and Beacon, but who cares)

back to sniping, I guess

Hey don't underestimate the power of the beakons!! just imagine, you place some randomly in your sight, wait for a brainless squid to come and try to destroy it then BLAM - bluuuuhuuuiiii - , it's going to be a great distraction tool ! :)

Beacons are great because you can create super jump locations that aren't fucking suicide.

Of course, the Kraken is the highlight here. Should help with the "close-range combat is horrible" thing the regular E-liter has going on.

Given the fact that the upcoming weapon unlock appears just a few hours after the Digital Event and the Trehouse Live start to air, will we get some more unannounced unlocks perhaps (such as new maps/modes)?

Having beacons enable chargers to advance without worrying as much on losing their current perch. Seems cool to me especially on larger maps.

Sorry if Custom Jet Squelcher is old news, but I found it really fun to use. It's kind of a... bizzaro Splattershot Jr I guess, would be the closest approximation I can make. Instead of moving around a lot to spread ink and flank, I want to sit back and be way more patient, even if that means I'm losing out on inking time. My sub weapon is a panic button, melee tool and slightly better ink spreader instead of a pressure tool. Even so, the Jet Squelcher is a jack of all trades and a master of none... kind of like Splattershot Jr. It's weird to use, but it is far more viable than the Krak-On Roller once one gets the hang of it.

I'd like to say that I would really prefer having Bubbler over Kraken with this weapon set though. When I use Kraken, I become invincible but then I lose my Jet Squelcher range and Burst Bomb panic button. I prefer to keep my distance at all times, but going for the kill or breaking open a stalemate with Kraken necessitates getting right in the thick of it. And yes, unless I've managed to corner an enemy completely or they don't notice me at all, I don't get Kraken kills all that often.

As for abilities, it might just be psychological but I feel like I do better with Damage Ups for main abilities instead of anything improving specials. I don't improve my number of hits to kill, but it helps if the enemy already has a bit of chip damage. Kraken is not my focus for this weapon; being a dick and camping a spot while tossing Burst Bombs out every once in awhile seems to be what I prefer to do. I think anything that saves ink or increases ink recharge rate will work really well with the Custom Jet Squelcher given how fast it drains ink.

A 3-round burst gun? Didn't think we would get one of those type of guns in the game. I wonder how it will play out. Will it be able to kill in one burst?

I felt bad for performing poorly with my team in Ranked. We won, but I quickly left feeling a bit ashamed. It was a great comeback to take the lead in OT.
