Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

How exactly do they determine junior vs regular member? I remember noticing that I was a full member like a month or two after joining

I'm pretty sure it's over 300 posts and a certain number of months (2 or 3?). I only make, like, one post a day, so it took me awhile.

No lies, I'm going to hate SplatGAF if a poor showing of games stops them from playing this game.
I'm just busy overall this week.

Hooray, took almost a year, but finally became a full-fledged member here. Thanks SplatGAF for giving me something fun to rattle off posts about.

Honestly, after the Direct, I was just kinda, "At least I still have Splatoon." I don't need to deal with the underwhelming 2016 schedule yet, I can keep playing Splatoon.

(Using Splatoon as a happy drug might be a dangerous thing.)
Splatoon as a happy drug is only possible with randoms that don't lag. Honestly, the 1 hour testfires were probably the most fun I've had with the game, mostly because the sting of losing several games in a row is drastically reduced because of the 1 hour time limit. I've actually started off vocal and salty yesterday night, only to relax and have fun once I started to get those last second kills on Heng, and especially that one kill on Saltspray on Heng where I was on the bottom on the walkways, see Heng Bunnyhop-Blasting someone up top, and successfully snipe him in the air mid-hop. That brightened my night a bit.
Sorry Heng, but our encounters can be a bit tense and frequent. That's what makes them fun. =D

To be clear, I thought that was you on top lol. I was hoping the charger on the bottom would have terrible aim and I could take both of you out. I'll return the favor of the last second kill one day!

Probably not going to happen lmao. Splatoon is still my GOTY alongside Hotline Miami 2 (and maybe Mario Maker). I want to desperately spend more time with you guys but I just have so much stuff to work on and E3 is making things a bit hard in general I suppose. Though I do find the few people I've seen that have been saying they're selling their Wii U because of this conference pretty silly.

I'm kind of just waiting for the show to end right now honestly, even though I'm enjoying the Treehouse segments. I just want a pick-me-up again after a good deal of presentations leaving me bummed.

Honestly, after I switched to the .96 Gal, I've been climbing the ranked ladder at a much quicker rate. I'm at A right now. Hope to be A+ by the end of tonight.

.96 Gal is the perfect combination of weapons. The gun itself is fantastic. Powerful and decently ranged. Sprinklers are FANTASTIC, nearly essential, for Splat Zones. Echolocator is stupidly strong, especially on a team that knows how to capitalize on it. Easily the best weapon in the game for Splat Zones, and still is welcome in any team during Turf Wars for the sub and special perks.

xD

Before this I was running Dual Squelcher in ranked and Aerospray RG in Turf.

When are they ever going to rotate what game modes are ranked vs. not? I want to play ranked Turf War. And with Tower Control coming soon...how is that going to work? Do you first select ranked, then choose the game mode? Or is Tower Control getting its own "lobby" (regular battle vs. ranked)?

It hasn't turned me off games just gaming culture. Watching people's reaction has become more sad than funny.

I plan to keep playing games through E3 and try to read the news without the reactions or spin.

Well after listening to the drivel people spewed, I realised this year for my Wii U I want:

- Yoshi's Wooly World (EU gets in 9 days...HYPE!)
- Super Mario Maker.
- Mario Tennis (maybe...depends on the Single Player Portion).
- Xenoblade Chronicles.
- Star Fox.

Pretty good line-up, but I can add the 3DS games too:

- Triforce Heroes (if my friend gets it as well as my co-op depends on her).
- Happy Home Designer (Could be a fun distraction).

And Xbox One:

- Forza 6 (GOTY maybe for me)
- Halo 5 (might not play it, but always nice to have around).
- Rainbow Six Siege (might be PC version and only if Terror Hunt is good).

And PC:

- American Truck Simulator (love me some Euro Truck Sim 2).
- More announced soon at the PC Gamer Show probably.

So yeah...I think i'll live this year, despite what others think. :D

Though I do find the few people I've seen that have been saying they're selling their Wii U because of this conference pretty silly.

Yeah, I mean I get the Wii U is nearing the end probably, but there's still decent games coming, geez.

Yeah, i'll return after the PC Gamer Show to see the new weapons and then come back at the Weekend for sure. :)

I always dread playing against .96 users. That range and damage is ridiculous, it's basically just a slower stronger dual squelcher

That's my weapon of choice most of the time, but man switching to other weapons really makes me have to relearn my ranging.

Against scrubs but still entertaining. Was wondering why it went so quiet in the last minute.

So good.

Is anyone playing or has everyone's interest in gaming been killed now

E3 + Smash Bros Ryu + NBA Finals have basically kept me away from Splatoon this week. Eager to resume sometime soon to prepare for the mother fuggin splatfest this weekend.

I do hope Nintendo increases the level cap by 20 more levels or so sometime soon. I was a lot more excited when I knew I was getting XP towards levelling every match.

Are the new weapons tonight or tomorrow night?

Selling Wii U...NintenDoomed.

lol

yes

I hope the splatGAF community doesn't die off, since E3 started its been pretty quiet here

We're all silently dying on the inside.

No lies, I'm going to hate SplatGAF if a poor showing of games stops them from playing this game.

On the contrary I've been hugging my existing Wii U games harder than ever today, gotta get my mind off the bleak future.

I'm too obsessed over how fucking amazing it is that after forever we're finally getting a new home console Mario Tennis to play Splatoon. 60 FPS and painless local multiplayer make this better than Open by default. Like, finally finally finally finally FINALLY. FUCKING FINALLY.

Easily the best announcement of E3 for me, regardless of whether or not the game ends up being any good.

We needed strikers instead

I'll be back! Treehouse Live and the NBA Finals are taking up my mental space right now

I know the feeling. My sister is headed to Portugal at the end of the week and I'm assisting her, I'm looking for a new job, and I have a bunch of things to setup here for myself on top of all this E3 footage to digest. There's also the desire I have to play more of other games too. Really want to brush up on Guilty Gear Xrd before Revelator drops. Johnny. <3

I know, right? Why are future games affecting your gaming now? Enjoy what you got, people!

That makes no sense at all lol.

You'd be surprised how many people I regularly talk to elsewhere have expressed this sentiment. It's so weird.

Street fighter 5 dude, I see you in the threads

Fuckin hype

I am just waiting for the first character (not Chun) that satisfies my desire for some Makoto or is just awesome all around. Chun is the fallback character in the event I'm not terribly lucky.

I know the feeling. I admit, I was looking forward to another Splatoon level surprise from Nintendo since I thought they were going to keep that kind of scrappy momentum up from last E3, but eh. Still feeling good after this E3 though, there's a lot of stuff I'm actually really excited to see more of soon.

I'm going to go so hard this weekend. I want a fuck load of Super Sea Snails so I can play with abilities on different builds and get my looks in order. Style-toon is still my second GoTY after all. That said, no to raising the level caps, I don't want to fill bars anymore! :lol

I just feel so deflated from Nintendo's Digital Event that I don't particularly want to play Splatoon right now. If it hadn't been mentioned in this thread, I wouldn't even know that two new weapons have been released.

Some decisions that Nintendo make are literally unexplainable.

I haven't been playing much because of E3... not because I'm bummed out by the showing or anything but I spend most of the time watching/listening to stuff related to it that I haven't been playing. I will be checking out the new weapons though.

Also, no Splatoon E3 dlc annoucements :(

They'd be kind of foolish to announce DLC when they haven't yet rolled out all the free content they've promised.

The digital event didn't really hurt my desire to play this game, rather it's the lack of any other game modes I can play with gaf members. I still enjoy this game, but it's a bit tiring to play just turf wars. Ranked battles are really frustrating with randoms, I really wish they would let us play it for fun with friends or play a friendly splat zone with no ranks so friends could join us.

That being said, I'm looking forward to the new weapons and splatfest. I might give chargers another go, but I really want to try that 3 round burst gun.

I have to imagine most people aren't playing because it is E3 week and not because of how the conferences were. At least I hope that's the reason. I'm alternating between Smash and Splatoon for my Wii U playtime.
-----------

I had the funniest kill today.

Someone used an Inkzooka and killed me. I didn't see it coming at all. But then during the killcam thing (what is this actually called? I just call it a killcam cause that's the only term I know about) I saw he was in squid from and the camera was shaking up and down, so I figured out what he was doing.
pv2qRrs.jpg

He was hiding in the wall just below the ledge on waiting for someone on my team to just pass over him so that he can get an easy kill. I knew what he was planning so I just dropped a splat bomb that was thrown perfectly on the ground to fall off the ledge just as it was going to explode so he wouldn't have been able to react.

Even the squids in inkopolis were not happy with the conference.
Still. Like one of them said. Playing some Splatoon after that makes everything a bit better.

Nozzlenose doesn't kill with all 3 shots. Each shot caps at 33.3. Max 99.9 per burst.
that fire rate and damage is brutal, though, and it has more range than the .52 Gal. I don't think any of the fast-firing weapons can kill as quickly as the Nozzlenose. This thing is a beast

I suggest using 1 Damage Up main and sub to get to 97 damage

doesn't use much ink, either

Finally got to B+ in 2 days ( I was B- )after a DOZEN random communication error equaling in minus 10-Precious points everyFUCKINGtime....dear god... Now i'm B+ 60. Gonna stop for today.

We need some fucking patch. I swear, if i did'nt have all those communication error ( -10points ) considering i was often in a winning team, I'D BE FUCKING A- RIGHT NOW.

I love this game.

Alright, so I dig the Nozzlenose but I can see never really topping the charts with it. The coverage is okay but its not great, you need to constantly be tapping the trigger since you can't hold it down. Then you have the two subs that do no inking at all. I really wish the subs were different, they might ruin this weapon for me. Yeah, the Disruptor is okay but... Killer Wail, really? Its a bummer.

No point at getting damage up with the Nozzlenose. With 2 main ones it does 99.9... with a 3rd main damage up it does... 99.9.

not a fan of the nozzle noze in turf wars, especially when the maps are blackbelly and kelp dome. too much shit to ink. interested to try it out in ranked though. I bet it could be pretty awesome there but fuck ranked with arowana mall in the rotation lol
