Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

GG Vecks.

Almost won my first 3v4. It was one of those where they went poof immediately. But luckily, it was on Urchin Underpass. I feel like if there's going to be any map where you can hold them off short-handed, it's that one. We sweeped the middle with 1 minute remaining and I successfully held the main entrance. But alas, random splatter on the map and a last second team surge cost us a 44-46 loss. :(

Bluefin Depot has some neat elements, but I find the map more frustrating than anything. I keep ending up in situations where I finish clearing out half of the map and everything on the other side and behind me has become a nightmare. It seems like doing 2v2 skirmishes on both sides is a good idea, but I find it difficult to coordinate with randoms. A lot of rounds seem to end with me desperately trying to take back the other side in a 1v2 (and usually failing). The snipers can camp a little too much too, and there isn't anything I can really do about it down low.

Been liking the Tentatek Splattershot lately. You can really play aggro with it, using those Suction Bombs for cover and stuff... Ninja Squid is almost a requirement for it. The Inkzooka is a decent sniper/defensive tool as well.

You can super jump to a teammate on the other side to support their push.

I know, it's just annoying to constantly see the other side of the map and/or my base becoming a nightmare when I'm done. It's just like, what is going on back there??? Not sure if the other team is just sending everyone and winning a 4v3 while I'm away or what. Maybe I'm playing the map wrong by trying to split up.

Finally picked this up. I'm loving it. Is the charge rifle thing pretty much useless? The one you charge up and it shoots a long line of ink.

I thought maybe I could focus on getting kills with it to support the team but it seems very inconsistent to hit and isn't hitscan and has a delay/drop off.

GGs. I'm not sure how I feel about bluefin yet. Still trying to get a feel for it. I end up jumping into the water a lot. But I had that problem when I first played saltspray rig too.

Join the GAF rooms to see how useful they are. =D

That's like one of the worst places to practice a charger. :P

I guess I feel it isn't really very effective at covering areas and its pretty hard to bit enemies at a distance becupause it seems like its still a projectile not a hitscan rifle.

That leaves me in a lot of situations where its one chance to one shot someone as they charge me at mid range, you miss and die.

I think it's great in good hands. There are some crazy people in ranked match and here on gaf. You might need to practice it a bit more, I'm sure with practice you can be amazing with it.

The first charger weapon they give you is nearly worthless. There are some later charger weapons that have improved sight and killing power that are really worthwhile.

What was the point of holding back multiplayer maps that were already present in the game since launch? It's not like the map pool was big to begin with

Its not the worst at coving turf. Strafe and use half charged shots to cover about as much as the long range shooters(splattershot pro, squelcher, 92 gal. Obviously it isnt as good at spreading as teh short range rapid weapons and the ink brush for example.

It is a hitscan weapon. You need to wait for the X to apear. Release when your cursor is over the enemy and its a guarenteed instant kill.

Base one is great. =D What are you talking about?

Is it really? Huh, need to go back and look at it again. I recall trying it out at the beginning and being disappointed by its kill power. I don't play charger weapons much so maybe there's something I don't get about that particular gun.

Wow I just had a match with 7 Japanese randoms that was the biggest non-disconnect related blowout I've ever been a part of. We pushed them back to their spawn point about halfway through the match and kept them there until the end. I think they ended with like 8.9% of the map covered.

I think Bluefin Depot is based on Hashima Island, aka Battleship Island: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashima_Island

I'd believe this. One of Callie's stage announcement quotes is something like, "Man, this place feels like a ghost town nowadays," which fits into the history of Hashima.

Pretty cool.
