Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I wish there was an AFK or quitting penalty beyond just point reduction. Lost two ranked games tonight because we had a teammate (quiet) who didn't do anything. He just stood there and did nothing. Second match a guy on our team quick within seconds of start.

I was playing some Awesomenauts on the PC with my brother-in-law. It's pretty much our go-to Co-Op game since nothing else has come out since then that's grabbed our attention.

The rankings had just reset, so newbies are paired with veterans. We were against a whole team of vets, and on our side we had me, my in-law, and a third who was definitely a new player.

I say in All Chat, "it feels like random matchmaking in Splatoon."
The enemy, "I know. I'm sorry for you. You play Splatoon."
I ask him why and he informs me that, "I played a match on it and won even though I never saw anyone else."
"Was it Kelp Dome? Because that's just Kelp Dome sometimes."
And this is the best part. He then tells me, "I don't know. I was just painting walls most of the time."

I just tell him walls don't count and that he was carried. He didn't say anything else about it lol.

It needs to be specified that walls don't count. It really does. Even my brother who games more than me was painting walls until I told him.

The "turf wars" rules (press X in the lobby, it says so right in top corner of screen) explicitly state that you need to ink the ground. It says "ground" twice, even.

Didn't even win a single GAF game tonite :(

Whoever had me on their team was guaranteed to lose (despite me getting the most kills in some of those matches)

Well... who clicks rules. :p
I actually checked them, but I knew already. Nobody else who has played it even noticed the option to check.

Ugh everyone uses 96 now. Ugh.

UGH

dem 2HKO's

I don't even target Gal users anymore. Not worth it. They always win battles. Better to live and let live and just ink around them.

I started using a gimmicky route to the middle in Arowana Mall; shooting the wall to the right of the ramp and then jumping across to it. Charger is great for inking this path but terrible for abusing it, since you can't really attack whilst cresting over the wall. But this strategy at least gets me onto the middle platform safely during the start-game rush.
Another way to the middle, though maybe more gimmicky, is the left sidewall of the ramp. If your weapon has enough range, you can paint along the left sidewall of the ramp, make a path toward the middle, and go up from the side of the middle platform.

Nah dawg just use a charger
I eat chargers for breakfast with my 92. They are too slow. I just swim around to dodge while I wait for them to shoot. The only time this fails is against high latency players because you can't trust their laser sight.

Even on Mall they are in range of the 92.

I've never used a piece of gear that has Ink Resistance Up, but I am really wanting to try it out.

It feels like Rollers need to have that on their ability kit.

Then those chargers suck
