Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Rice won as expected :/
I don't know if it was just me, but I kept getting very very novice (to put it nicely) players on my bread team. I hate going up against an all-Lv20 team with Lv1s and 5s on mine.

Last night's highlight; jumping to a teammate standing on the tower in the middle of Blackbelly Skatepark, seeing him die on my screen just as I press his icon to launch, seeing three of the enemy team aiming at my landing site, being insta-killed the moment I land... but not before planting a mine which takes out all four of their team.

With half the match left they never recovered from that and were pretty much kept to their base area for the rest of the game.

that happened to me too but i quit the matchups after those games ended, re entered and matched up with level 20 breadwinners. we had epic turf wars... one game we had one player d/c at the beginning... and still won 3 vs 4.... it was glorious haha i managed to earn 12 snails afterall... good for me :)

I thought I'd quit too, but then I realized the Lv1 players would end up on someone else's bread team, and that would be just as bad or worse.

Singleplayer or multiplayer first?

I suggest play at least the first world of single player so you can get use to the controls. Also, you get blueprints for weapons for every boss you defeat. They are all good although which one you like is preference.

god damn, splat zones is a roller coaster of emotions

was B rank and I'm quickly moving back towards C+ rank

I need to stop playing when Arowana Mall is in the rotation..

I finally made B+ but the last victory was due to a player on their team disconnecting at the start of the match. Ended up being a 0-100 blowout of course. But then I've lost a few due to the same so I'll take it!

Got to remember what that the target audience starts from 7 (at here in UK), and not everyone has the same level of skill or attention span.

I often play this with my 7yr old daughter who loves multiplayer, but at that age she isn't the most skillful nor necessarily concentrates on splatting people all the time. :)
Now I feel like a scumbag for raging when playing ranked.
I'll still probably flip my shit though.

I know what you mean. I had a pretty bad losing streak and stopped playing.
I mean, if I have 1000 points with no bonus, and 10 kills, why are we losing? What are my other guys doing all game? One guy was 0 and 8. Like come on.
Sometimes it's frustrating because I manage to take down 2 or 3 guys, then die, but I'm thinking, well I cleared most of them out, while I'm waiting to respawn my guys should be able to take hold. Nope.

I had a match where a member of my team was 0-14. I'm not the best player ever, currently stuck at B, but sometimes I'm on fire and will be like 10-0, 14-3,etc. and we still lose. In one insane Ranked match I splatted all 4 enemies in rapid succession in the middle of the map... and my team was nowhere to back me up and push forward our position. I've had Turf matches where I mowed through the enemy team, put down as much ink uninterrupted as possible and we still lost because the rest of my guys are sort of... doing nothing.

I swear that at least two-thirds of my losses are from a 3v4 matchup or one or two people on my team who are unbelievably bad (0-14 guy). I keep myself calm by reminding myself some of these may be kids, novices or decent guys who are off or trying new weapons. Heck, I'm a .52 Gal player and can't figure out Chargers or the Brush. But the inexcusable are good players who do dumb things. Like go off very far on pointless inking adventures at Kelp Dome, a huge stage where everyone should remain prettyclose to help keep the zone.

We had a good Charger on Port Mackerel who racked up 10 kills but it was for nothing because he parked his ass over the near splat zone for the entire match. We secured the entire area and pushed forward but it was 3v4 at the far splat zone every time because of this goofball who wouldn't help us. At one point I looked up to where he was perched, jumped up and down repeatedly and spammed "Come on!" in desperation. He did the same and did not budge. We never held it for long and narrowly lost because of a good player acting like a complete idiot.

Not sure that was bad strategy, since it sounds like you held the near splat zone the entire game. Perhaps it was because he stayed behind to defend, instead of abandoning it to push forward while a single enemy flanked and took it from behind?

Warehouse ranked is over fast. First team to get splatted loses. I think if that is your team, you need to wait at spawn until everyone is back then rush all at once.
