Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Oh snap I almost forgot about Splatfest thanks all the E3 shenanigans. That'll be a good time to start playing again.

Wait I just thought of something while doing recon at arowana mall, if you live in a society where everyone dissolves in water, why would you ever have large pools of water in public places?

Holy shit. Last night, I had a ranked match on Saltspray Rig. My team jelled pretty well, and we got to where we only had 1 second left on our clock pretty quickly. At this point, the opposing team had about 80 seconds on theirs. And I'll be damned if those guys didn't wake up and hold us off for the rest of the match until they got a knockout -- we couldn't get that 1 second of control in to save our lives.

Interesting. I had the exact same experience during that time period, except our team managed to win eventually. It's very difficult, since you get a huge time penalty if this happens. My team basically had to control it for double the normal amount of time to earn the win.
 
I had a Splat Zones match today where I was facing an enemy, and decided to stop fighting because the counter was so close to 1 and then started to kid-squid jump (turning into a kid and squid really fast while jumping). That enemy wasn't near the zone, so it didn't matter if I didn't stop him. I had a slight doubt in my mind that maybe the enemy team will manage to cap our zone, but I wasn't that worried since our whole team was alive.

Turns out the enemy team managed to contest the zone at the very last second (our counter was at 1). I was like whatever, my team is good, they'll cap the zone back. And then I died cause of the enemy I stopped fighting killed me lol. I started to laugh really hard cause I felt I deserved that. Then the enemy team capped the zone. I started to laugh even more. My team managed to cap the zone afterwards and then we won.

The lesson is to not squid-kid (jump) in the final few seconds. The karma is gonna bite you in the ass.

Why would we? It's just normal Turf Wars with regional restrictions and 3 maps only for 24 hours.

"Why would we not?" Is more what I'm thinking. It's an event where you kinda of set teams of people fighting against each other. Plus you get sea snails at the end, and not everyone who has Splatoon may remember that there's an event.

I thought foxuzamaki was saying to create a new thread only for discussion of Splat Fests (like we move discussion from this thread to over there), not a thread to let people be aware of it happening.

I think a thread being made to tell people that Splat Fests are going on is fine.

Inking turf while listening to this, what more I could ask Nintendo? It's so damn catchy!

I have no doubt we will see more DLC for this game after August, we have so much new content to come, new modes, weapons, stages... But you guys think we might see weekly new clothes too?

Nothing like your team jobbing their brains out for most of a match, you turning it all around in the final minute, then you get hit with a communications error before the results screen comes up. :mjcry

Cali here too, I'm playing Earthbound right now, may try to squeeze in a few matches but got 3 straight disconnects earlier so maybe my WiFi just sucks tonight.

Well I capped out pretty quickly. I'm not asking for an unfair advantage like more slots or better weapons, but maybe more unique clothes along with that arbitrary counter increase (which would in reality probably pair me with the more seasoned players).
