Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

Don't be too worried about jumping in to the multiplayer, its the best way to get better.

For me, single player got me to get better faster.

Mainly since I was having issues with the gyro and kid2squid stuff, single player got me to master the controls

Yeah I think it depends on how a person learns best. Playing multiplayer straight away may not be the best if you're the kind of person that is upset about losing which would then prevent you from trying out all sorts of stuffs.

I think I may be getting it down. Been getting about 800-1000 pts a game with about 7 or so splats average. The attack ups really help with this weapon.

I skipped single-player and went straight for multiplayer. Isn't this addictive or what? I'm loving this game, do the maps rotate every day or every week? How do I access singleplayer story?

I highly recomend doing the single player and also make sure to report back with your impressions of the final boss.

The most important thing for you to learn about chargers is the minimum amount of time it takes you to kill a target, and the range of that shot. For example, 3k liter takes about 60% charge to kill a target with 3x attack power and the range is about 15-20 feet (in the testing area). Another thing is learn to aim fast and once you've learn to do that, learn not to aim at your target until you've got your minimum killing charge otherwise they know you're aiming at them.

I'm sure there's other ways to play a charger but this is what I learned to become decent with them.

God I hated everytime you werent on my team last night, or rather, this morning, always sniping me and I had no idea it was coming until it was too late.

Yeah, I personally do best when I've got a good handle on the mechanics and I know the game decently. I get more bummed about letting my team down while not really understanding anything because "what the fuck did that guy just do well I'm dead"

I got a lot better once the single player had nailed how far the squid form can jump into my head. Before that I'd just swim around or sometimes even just walk o_o

Lol it didn't help that the maps in the rotation had big open space. Also that rapid blaster kept killing me. I underestimated him and got killed for it. :( GG and hopefully we can play again.

Now that the game has been out for a few weeks, the multiplayer must be a rough learning experience for those starting out. I think it'd be nice if they had optional lobbies strictly for people lower than level 10.

I think they do just for levels 1-5? I never see anyone in that range but I often see one random level 6 or 7 person in my group

I thought most higher level players were only playing ranked. Personally I didn't touch Turf Wars for a very long time. The money add up so much faster in Splat Zones.

The one about Judd's secret parties is great too. :lol

In other news, I'm wondering if I should bump the Post Your Inkling thread again with my current threads:

I honest to God don't know how I got that roll on my hat, but damn I wish if I had gotten even one more ink saver sub to play with. The shirt however refuses to cooperate and give me a good ink saver main set. =/
Go ahead and bump it.

Matchmaking is not just level dependent. I created a new character today and it was very obvious. The first few games I was in groups of lvl1-8, but once I got a streak going, very soon I was paired up mostly with level 20s even when I was only lvl4-5. From my brief experience, I don't think there's any issues with low level matchmaking. There are still enough people in those groups. Just that if you're good enough for low levels, you'll immediately find yourself wondering why you're paired with 20s.

Whenever I jump into random matches, the level range is so wide, like from 6-20, and it really doesn't feel like people are of a similar skill level.

I don't care about cash and I find turf wars more fun.

I think winning streaks factor in a lot more than levels. The level 6 guy you played might have been winning a good amount of games. Plus if you just stay in gaf rooms your "streak" is probably not indicative of the general population as a whole.

I can check after this match.

Great, thanks.

Nope, sorry. Just have Black Squideye and Striped Rugby.

I haven't played in awhile so I forgot how much I love this game! The new levels are awesome, specifically Bluefin. I love all the ramps in the ranked version.

On another note, I just noticed that your ranking turns gold when you hit A+ (99). Anyone know if it stays that way even if you rank down?

Edit: just lost a match and it doesn't. That's lame, no one will know of my accomplishment if I lose. :/

That feel when your point tally is the second highest of everyone playing without bonuses while you're using a wacky gear configuration.

From Squidboards: I think I've found my senpai.

Also hopping on now Tota.

Look at that beautiful inkling. That's some crazy high points on the brush. I think my highest isn't even 200k.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I'm messing around with a similar "all Special Charge" build and I notice that it actually feels like when you get momentum started, it's damn near impossible to stop. Inkstrikes all day long. Since I don't have Ninja Squid to use either, it makes for a lot more activity on my part (brushdown all day) since I can't be all shinobi like without great effort.

Also, this is the first time I've seen my player card ever. Geez at that Inkbrush coverage score. :lol

Had a bad day playing ranked, so I'm just gonna throw some salt out in the form of pet peeves:

- Port Mackerel is garbage

- Having to carry my team to get a win is frustrating. Feels like I can't just have an "above average" game and get a win, it has to be god-like performance.

- People on my team who just post up on a ledge and shoot down at the zone the majority of the match get on my nerves. Unless you have a charger or squelcher, take your ass down to the zone and get your hands dirty.

This is just in general: but I'm really starting to hate playing against rollers. The range on the Roller shake is too long.

Well, back to playing ranked. :p
