Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

It's also the perfect way to spread word of mouth of the game to more people. Think about it, people will have to apologize for not hanging out with their friends or families because they have to play Splatoon because of a Splatfest.

These are my favorite routes to start the stage and for generally getting into the top of the map:

A lot of people like to get slaughtered at the chokepoint entrance instead.

I'm always, always the only person to take the lift to the choke point at the very start of the match, and I always catch at least one (usually two, sometimes three) enemy off guard as they're fighting to take the entrance.

The date is fine.

US kids will play during the morning since there is no school. Canada and Mexico will tear each other appart during the noon-night. Win-Win.

Why would they schedule splatfest on the fourth of july when so many people travel/have parties? Guess I'll catch the next one.

Something I just thought of recently.

What if they did a global "Splatfest"? And I don't just mean having a Splatfest where everybody who owns the game can choose one of two sides, but rather it would be something like the Global Test fire, where everybody who owns a Wii U (and can access the eShop) would be able to participate. Unlike in the "Global Test Fire" they won't only be going up against players who are using the demo but also against players who actually have the game and are playing it at the time. It would be a good way for them to demo the online multiplayer to people who didn't get a chance to play the test fire and still on the fence about buying the game. Much like the Global Test Fire, people who are using the demo app would be limited to using only a handful of weapons (+ the Ink Brush) and the outfit they start out with will be only outfit they can use during the Splatfest. Much like the normal Splatfests, the event would last 24 hours. I think this would be a great way to demo the online without having to limit the amount of times it can be played. Obviously the app will only work during the event. What do you guys think about this?

Possible spoilers but, I was playing through the challenges from the squid amiibo, and the last level has different dialogue than the campaign that
100% confirms that agents 1 and 2 are Callie and Marie. Their designs looked similar and it was sort of implied but they were telling cuttlefish shit like "hey we can't make squidmas this year we'll be filming our squidmas special in the morning" and "hey agent 2 remember X?" (I forgot what it was) and she replied "yeah that's what really launched our career!" And when gramps starts jamming to the squid sisters they get embarrassed.
it was a really rad detail, and it makes me wonder if the other two amiibo have other stuff to say during that section, because that alone would make me want them.

The rest of the games coming out this year will have to be something really special to top Splatoon.

You get that dialog whenever you replay the last stage. I dont have any amiibo but I read almost the same thing (but in spanish) before.

Edit: Now in spoiler tags
Also, it was confirmed earlier in the game when something like this happen:

Agent 2: "Cal.., I mean agent 1 is..."

Oh wow! That's even better then. I hadn't replayed the boss before today, so that's a doubly cool thing!

Really really love this game.

Seeing as there's already functional AI for Octolings in the game, I would like to see Nintendo make
Agents 1 and 2
a team and team them up with 2 AI groupies for players to play against, or maybe just let them be roaming bots that haunt the Turf Wars ;)

I guess I'll ask again, did they ever give any indication of how frequent splatfests would be?

They specifially said they didnt have a schedule, and that we should check social media to learn when the next one is (like the squid tumblr or nintendo twitter)

Speaking of things I want to see from Single Player, I want Squee-Gs to be sub weapons. Nothing would be as immensely trollish as setting a weapon to eat away at ink in key positions.

Had a match with a pair of snipers that were just pissing me the fuck off so much, and they destroyed us. The very next match I came back so fucking hard and absolutely obliterated them as I knew where they were camping and once I had that area on lockdown they tripped over themselves. Needless to say they left the lobby after the match was over. Felt good.

I hadn't played in a while so the first few matches had me flopping and choking to the point that was just going to turn the Wii U off but I stuck with it and came back hard by the end coming on top of the leader-board constantly.

dying to get home and splat

the struggle is real
I missed out on Splatoon last night :( I made up for that (a little bit) by waking up earlier than usual today and played 2 matches before I went to work. The fact that Splatoon is so fun and yet Turf War matches are so fast means I can fit it in almost any time as long as I'm home :)

"So I could spend the next 15 minutes reading NeoGAF and the internets in general... or I could get on Splatoon and play a few matches."

Are any of the squid Amiibo boss fights limited ink? Or just kraken/timed? I did all the normal level limited ink and they were a pain, loving these Amiibo challenges overall though.

Random tip I've learned today: When taking damage in squid mode, unsquid then resquid immediately (when in your own ink) to get healed asap versus running away for a breather.

I'm feeling this meta on my face in Kelp Dome.

Damn Walkman.

edit: DC'd :(
That was the 17 and 1 game right, I can never get perfect games where I don't get splatted anymore and have a double digit amount of kills, I remember near launch I had a game where I had 20 kills 0 deaths against randoms that was pretty fun

Yup, it was. I can never get close to you, especially with the echolocator on -.-

edit: GGs Jonke!

As a dual squelcher user myself I find a lot of times people just run the fuck away when I activate echolocator.

Either that or they're good enough to take me out even when I ambush them :(

People forget about South America when talking about Nintendo, but some of us do have WiiUs and own Splatoon ok?!
Even if it says Canada on my WiiU region heh

Dammit, another DC! Happened before on the GuySloth/Nathan/Walkman room, and just happened again :( Matches with Jonke went just fine before. Will try one last time.

Sometimes you find your teammates all not going through the choke or they're all dead and the enemies up there are gleefully waiting for your arrival.

Nope, it's never gone that way for me, I'm always the first one to arrive there when taking the elevator, nowhere near enough time for my team to die even if they're especially lousy. 99% of the time one or two from my team will try the ramp to the choke point and the other/s will take the high ground to the side of the splat zone. The enemy team will usually split up, two going for their ramp and two for the high ground, or three/one. Every time my elevator pops up, the enemy who went for the ramp are firing blindly towards the opposite ramp and never see me coming. With them mopped up I circle around and try to take the high ground from the remains of their team and wait for the inevitable super-jumping team mates.

Of course, in the time it takes me to do this a lone enemy has killed everyone else in my team, set up a beacon and take the splat zone and the rest of my team spend the rest of the match trying to paint walls, rendering this whole tactic useless.

Dual Squelchers are fun, but I still like the .96 better. Sprinker is just so useful as a bait or just throwing across the fence to maximum inkage (so good doing this on Kelp Dome).

Getting the hell away is the best option, tbh. Although when I have the echolocator on (or someone in my team), I always get surprised by someone that I didn't see (even though that person was spotted).

That's the plan, there's no way I will beat you if I let you get close with the .52

Not always the case, man, not always the case :lol

That's my path, too! I go for the back section and protect it, and the center area to the best of my ability. I use my Inkstrike to cover the other places throughout the map.

Right answer. .96 Gal is so much stronger than the Squelchers, in my opinion.
