Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

So I think I asked about this before but I want to try again while I'm not super sleepy and can make a slightly longer post...

What sort of expectations should I have when using the Custom Jet Squelcher? As a CJS user, what can I do which will be most helpful to you?

In almost every game that I'm in with the CJS, I'm never really sure if I'm contributing enough to the team. It's one thing if I have a low score, but then I usually have a low kill count as well. The only way I can tell that I at least wasn't a liability to the team is when I finish with 0 deaths. I do my best to harass and flank, but when it comes to inking or re-inking ground I'm running out of ink quickly, and I need to have the enemy be constrained or tunnel-visioned to make the best use of my focus fire. I can't effectively fight enemies around corners until I get the Kraken, but again the CJS is so terrible at inking =[

B has been mostly fine for me. 80 in to B and only thing holding me back from playing is I don't really care for playing ranked most of the time.
 
So they're solving the NA matchmaking problem by massively reducing the number of people who will be playing the game? Clever.

There has never been and will never be a July 4th in my life when I'll have time to play video games.
 
Alright, I quit for right now. I'm playing like total garbage today. Made worse by Bluefin being my least favorite map and it keeps coming up.
 
I swear I can't carry with a Luna blaster, even if my life depended on it. Still, splatting squelcher and aerospray users is so satisfying.

Luna Blaster doesn't seem to be that great compared to the Custom Blaster. The Inkzooka is pretty nice though

I'm not gonna lie that was a sick kill when you went up that wall and jumped behind me.

Good games everyone I played with, I'm probably done for the day with the nba draft later, but I might jump on after. Nice playing with you for the first time Saro

Are you talking about turf wars? As a 0.96 user I consider doing my job if I had a high kill count, because you can't out-ink other weapons. I take advantage of my high range to lock down key positions, for instance top mid on saltspray.
 
I finally have all the clothes in the game! Yay!


And I realised my blood-pressure has been too normal over the past couple of days...back to Ranked I go!
 
Urgh. Just won a 2v1 turf war. I can't remember if 5 disconnects is a record for me or if I've actually gone 1v1 before. I swear there's at least one disconnect every 2 or 3 rounds.

Yellow Layered LS

I get the feeling people won't be wearing these out on the inkopolis plaza because they don't have unique skills on them.
 
I played some Ranked Battles today and 3 separate lobbies have had only chargers and rollers lol.

I knew these people knew what's up cause they weren't using shooters lol.

Thanks! My sister wanted to play so I stopped a bit early. Those matches were intense and I kept changing weapons lol.

I just got my best score so far in Ranked Battle: 18-5.
I'm actually pretty proud of that. I'm still only a C- though, although I've only played like 6 ranked matches.

Yeah I'm thinking mostly in terms of Turf Wars. Do Jet Squelchers outrange Gal weapons? I'm pretty sure they do, but the 2HKOs from Gal weapons means that a miniscule mistake in spacing is brutal :( I'm aware of some camping spots like that on mall and rig, but it's dome and bluefin which have been giving me a lot of trouble lately.
 
Well, it's Yoshi's Wooly World time tomorrow, so i'm gonna take a break from Splatoon again.

Maybe i'll be mellow by the end of it and be able to handle Ranked.

in a straight 1v1 duel the Jet Squelcher is going to win against the .96 Gal and Splattershot Pro if you keep the distance. Dual Squelcher has more or less the same range as the .96 Gal I think

Let me just say as a .96 Gal user, probably half of my deaths are from Squelchers.

Hmm, then in that case my spacing needs work. I need to figure out what to do when I can't move backwards any further, or whether I should be walking backwards or squidding backwards while firing. I mainly picked up the CJS to be the guy that can cover attack ranges which aren't fielded well by the rest of the team.

Interesting! Then yeah I definitely need more practice :) Is it usually the regular JS that's giving you trouble, or is the range advantage enough? I'm wondering if the Ink Wall is what makes the difference.

Pretty sure it's the range most of all. I try to keep a good distance so the smaller range weapons (like the damned Aerospray) can't reach me, so getting outranged by something that isn't a sniper always surprises me. I'm usually slowly approaching a squelcher and just about to hit when I die.

Whoa had no idea. Just beat the final boss, best final boss in a long time. Best console Nintendo game I've played in a long time and I'm talking strictly single player. Probably since Zelda Skyward Sword and that's near the bottom of my list in terms of Zelda games.

Hell of a game. Going to go back and try to collect all of the scrolls.
 
Well then.

The guy that hacked Splatoon to get black/white ink has managed to replace the Inklings with fully playable Octolings.

There doesn't seem to be any kind of texture for their eyes blinking though so it seems as if these characters weren't fully designed to be playable. Plus, of course, most of the headwear clip right through them. Looks like if we're ever going to get any playable Octolings it'll probably not be in this game unless a huge overhaul update happens.

EDIT: Didn't finish watching the video fully and didn't realize that there is footage of the Octoling unmasked after all. Bit more complete than I first assumed.

That is pretty awesome. I'd be pretty cool if Nintendo made an option for players to choose. I somehow doubt it, though.
 
Sorry atr0cious, left cause it got kinda boring cause it was just somewhat low-leveled randoms. I thought this is when most people from USGAF played.

This is usually the best time from my experience, can't speak for the rest of them, but I'm distracted with the nba draft and I might hop on later tonight but I'm not sure at the moment
