I think Nintendo is prioritizing quick lobby times over everything.
I would like regional though. They had it in MK8. Sometimes I wish Nintendo would be more uniform in the features they have for their games. Some games have online some don't. Some have certain options others don't.
Pff I can level that saturday morning, you guys are underestimating me xD
I can never find anyone on regional in MK8, maybe it's just me and my fake Canada WiiU though...

Funny, I'm a .96 gal user that just got into the dual squelcher. It's a little more accurate, and it it inks turf more evenly. I do miss the sprinkler, but my splat bomb game is improving.
Will probably switch back and forth between the 2 for a while.
the inzooka is near guaranteed kill, has a pretty good chance for a double and triple kill and it zones out opponents like a killing wail. Clears out sniper nests and with a bit of practice you can hit enemies below you as well (aim as far down as possible). No other special is as good at actually eliminating other players - the bubble comes pretty close, though

Wait wait wait, I remember now.
Something on my brother's side of the room causes severe interference with my wii u sometimes. Like "The only controller that works properly is the GamePad"-quality interference. I have no fucking idea what it is, though.
What I like about the 3DS is that I can generally just bring it downstairs and avoid this nonsense altogether.

Reading about that hidden matchmaking logic for turf wars kind of annoys me, since for whatever reason I've been getting paired the last 3-4 days with level 20 teammates who score in the 400-500 range for ink coverage and also manage to get splatted constantly.
I've won maybe 20% of my matches over the weekend, mostly getting demoralized because I feel like I'm usually the only one on my team who is even remotely competent (and I'm by no means a top tier player).

No idea. Just got in a room with about 4 Gaffers the rest Japanese players and the lag was horrible. I'd love to play worldwide matches if it was feasible, but it's not, so matchmatching should just be regional IMO.
Can't wait for matchmaking to hit August. Going to be a game changer in a positive way. Even without voice communication there are a few players in SplatGAF that know what needs to be done to work together to win turf war.
My job is to roll, try to help control specific parts of the map, back my teammates up by leading the charge with my roller and unleash the Kraken when necessary. And I do a good job at it.

Are you playing Turf? If so losing really doesnt mean much, I almost always get to the 1000 range even with a loss.
Now ranked, the matchmaking may work that way, but who gets on your team is random anyway, so if you lose it's bad luck or you maybe you are not doing so Hawt
Nah it's nothing so serious, besides yea, I'd lurk anyway. Working with programming is a bitch because you naturally are near computers and all that haha

My only beef with the Squelcher is that good players run away from it too easily, making splatting people a chore with it. Not necessarily a problem when you're trying to make them go away, but those good players often re-group and figure out a way around you. It's definitely fantastic for zone and painting stuff, however. It feels like a weapon that is great for protecting a lead, but if you get down big, it's hard to come back with. There are a lot of spawn camping scenarios where I just try to patiently spray zones, but the enemy team just continues to run away everytime I get a shot on them. Can't break the stalemate fast enough.
Both weapons feels like "poke then hunt them" weapons, but .96 Gal feels a little more forgiving with its 2-shot kills. If you're down big and you make a couple good reads with your chasing, you can turn a game around. There's a bigger risk-reward, there.
It's good to learn both weapons. Maybe my aiming and chasing will improve after playing the .96.

If GAF is supposed to be demonstrating loyalty towards each other in the Splatfest, then we'd best rally behind the symbol of loyalty and companionship, Team Dog.

Was I the only one that got a comm error right there? Kicked me out of the room then went to go look for friends in a lobby and couldn't find anyone even though I was just in a match with them.
I was thinking the same time, I was wasting too much time stalling with you, I figured it was ok because they would have a 3 on 3 without worrying about getting sniped by you but boy was I wrong.

Edit: there was a point where everybody jumped on me and I was like really we are all going to be in the same spot then they rest of the match nobody jumped to me and I just put my head down at that point.

Haha I just had a moment with a random who went kraken really close to me but I just kept jumping to the right and left while shooting them and they kept missing me with their attack. They did eventually splat me right near the end of the kraken's duration but I imagine it must have been really frustrating for them

Oh yeah it is, I played a lot with the Krak-on and people with Ninja Squid are a bitch to kill. Maybe not so much after the nerf though.

I don't really understand what changed since I thought blasters were crap to now really enjoying them. I think maybe I'm playing more conservatively, rather than treating every weapon like a splattershot Jr. lol.
