Thanks both
Do the star rankings on clothes mean anything?
I'm pretty sure that just indicates the number of slots for perks that they start with. Of course, Spyke allows you to add additional slots to 1 and 2 star items to bring them up to the max of 3.
Yeah I've added slots, it just seems off that all my gear is 2 star and not 3 star
I assumed 3 star gear was better even with me adding slots to 1 and 2 star gear
There's no practical difference except for two things:
1. lower star gear have a lower experience requirement to level up each slot (even if slots are added. The third slot for 1 star gear that is added on takes less to fill than the third slot of a 3 star gear).
2. It will affect how many slots the gear will have if someone buys it off spyke and they're unlucky (if they're lucky, it will have the same number of slots as who they bought it off of).
Correct. Except, one piece will look fresher than the other. Which is the most important. So upgraded 1 star gear with 3 slots added is the same as 3 star gear? If both pieces had the same 4 perks they would be exactly the same?
Part of what I like of Splatoon is that it has room for different play-styles. Even ones where a player can contribute without going on a murder spree.God it sucks when you get someone on your team who is crap. Why do some players think it's a viable tactic to avoid all action and forever build up an inkstrike?
The inkstrike is good and all but when it's 4 v 3 for the entire match because muggins over there is miles away painting the far corners of the map it never results in victory

Another question, on the results page, does it line up the players based on who performed the best to worst, and if so what metric does it use?
Sometimes I end up at the top and have 2 kills and 6 deaths, but I took that to mean I captured more of the splat zone than my teammates, but then sometimes I'm 3rd or 4th when I have 12 kills and 2 deaths, so in that case does it judge me to be the 3rd or 4th best player because I was too busy getting kills to capture the zone?
Pokemon killed the squids.
More like squids are on vacation in Alola.
The Squids can vacation in Alola and do their Turf War when their games release on Switch.
I used to love tower control but now I think it's the worst mode. I always seem to die a dozen times and scrape a few kills, and my team never seem to know what they're doing
If I'm on the tower alone and we're a few seconds away from taking the lead and i'm screaming "to me" over and over as we just need to keep the tower going for a few more seconds and none of them come it's infuriating. Do they not want to win? Do they not understand the rules of the game?
At least you can somewhat act alone in the other modes (though it's much easier with the help of your team when they decide to play as a team)
I played a few hours of tower control last night and saw my rank fall from high B+ to low B, then back to high B once it had changed to splat zones
Does anyone else feel this way?
Saltspray Rig TC part of the rotation right now, don't remember seeing that for quite a while.
I've just stopped playing because of this
Why does it always seem to be TC when I want to play
What times do they change up the ranked matches each day?
Rainmaker finals for Splatoon Showdown Series is on Twitch now! http://Ninten.do/60108JSAy

It's quite big news if they bring back the Ranked combinations that have been "banned" for more than a year now (14 months!). Really stupid of them to have let this situation happen.
According to http://splatoonmaps.github.io/ , we're still missing Saltspray Rainmaker and Piranha Pit Rainmaker.
Why were some combinations banned?
I still think Squiffer vs Bamboo is a bit lopsided, especially considering the Bamboozler's ability to hit 99.9. Squiffer really needs the charge speed to be buffed to .6s, have some sort of movement buff, or have equivalent range to the Bamboo. I mean, I know there are Squifferbots around, but DaUp Bamboo played optimally outclasses any Squifferbot IMO. The only advantage Squiffer has against DaUp Bamboo is a guaranteed OHKO shot from corner peeking.
I'd like Ryechu and SM to share their thoughts on the matchup.
I want to like S7, but I think I'm just not good with Splooshes in general. I used to play them more often, just to contrast against my usual play style and force myself to do something different, but I don't play them often enough to have lessons stick to me.
Heavy Splatling Remix I like a lot for sure though. Imo it's better than the Kelp Splat Charger. I don't get OHKOs, but I kill very quickly anyway and I get much more flexible turf coverage.
Isn't it just surface thin.Has anyone figured out how deep ink is?
Isn't it just surface thin.
Fall down (you might have to do it from a decent height to better notice) as a squid into ink and you'll see. *plop*Isn't it just surface thin.
