Looks like the animation took a hit. Kind of a shame. This show is still as funny as ever though. I'd place this episode above 3 and 4 but below 2 in terms of funniness. So this was a better episode.
Don't know about the animation, but yeah, this was definitely the best episode since 2. Loved the daruma and drawing segments.

Bad judge of anime, so don't take my word for it, but it seemed fine to me...
Oh, I agree it was fine, even good. It just seemed to be not as fantastic as before. Anyway, you've been around anime much more than me, so I think I will take your word for it. This is probably all in my head.

Is there a reason Tiger & Bunny 5 isn't up on ANN yet or am I missing something?

It is for the UK, but the times that the shows get put up seem to be highly variable for some reason. *watches in 720p*

Haha, well, I'm the guy who is blind to most of that stuff anyway. The directing was very slick anyway, which is why the episode 2 comparisons are being made.

What's the consensus on Deadman Wonderland? It looked promising but the early (1st ep) impressions suggested it was awful. Should I check it out?

I like it, but I'm also a Shounen junkie. You could check out the first episode if you want.

Edit: Or am I imagining this animation drop? No one else in the thread seems to have noticed. To clarify: it seemed to me the animation was still good, just not as great as usual.
Really? I actually thought the animation was better than usual and the most consistent out of any of the episodes so far. Most of the gags this time were visual as opposed to the situational or verbal ones that were prominent in the past couple episodes.

Wow, I thought I'd never enjoy another shounen but both Aoi no Exorcist & C are revitalizing the genre. I'm liking both right now.
[C] is more a Seinen.

I liked it. Starts out pretty over the top and it's definitely weird but I didn't really mind. If you like Shonen go for it.

Denpa Onna 01: Enjoying this a lot. I guess it confirms that I'm a SHAFT/Shinbo whore.

It's best not to try and to place original anime in manga demographics, only confusion awaits. You can't even judge manga demographics by their content anyway. Fun fact: Shigurui is shounen.

Yeah, I suppose. It just comes off as a Seinen to me. A little slower in the action department, more complex adult issues, a university setting.

Anyway, seven series down - eleven to go.

And that blu-ray will have English subtitles. Can't remember if it will have the dub or not. Most Ghibli Japan releases do, if one exists, but I don't know if they've recorded it yet.

Either way, delaying till Feb 2012 is perplexing. Maybe Disney doesn't want to bother with fans saying it should get an academy Award nom. Isn't it ineligible if it's not released in the US at least a year after the Japan release?

No English dub on the bluray.

I hope it is, at least then it would make more sense than a live action adaptation.
It would, but the difference is that porn would depress me, and a live action adaptation would also depress me, but at least pique my curiosity until I actually watched it to see if they could actually play the instruments with any proficiency. Of course I would immediately be disappointed and depress as soon as they "performed".

You can see them perform in a porno anyway!

Oh time travel, you so crazy. Loved this movie, so good. I have no complaints so not much else to say.

As an added bonus I now get that joke from Denpa.

Ao no Exorcist - 03

Just wouldn't be shounen if it weren't set in a highschool.

And wtf is that plasticine baby crap in the middle thought it was a one off last week but it's popped up again.

So basically watching this should theoretically screw with my head rendering me incapable of watching K-ON if a season 3 happens... that is a tempting proposition.

it could be you have to wait until June 26th to watch it.

Plus they already did the actual K-on parody earlier.

I've come to expect more from my hentai than just 10-frame animation cycles repeated over and over again!

Toriko anime is pretty disappointing. It's much more, err, cutesy, bright and less violent and retro than the manga. They even added some new cutesy characters or at least gave some old ones more prominence.
Gotta sit well with all audiences, I guess.

Kaiji 4

Shit is going down, Kaiji has the ultimate plan to get his money...or to have everything backfire in his face again.
I think it doesn't take much thinking to guess how any Kaiji story will end up.

Lotte's Toy 4

It was the twist alright and they even changed it up a bit as well.

At least how it ends up happening was classier than the manga version so thats cool.

Apparently it's endlessly entertaining.
Well, it's not like they show guys grabbing each other's crotches and comparing penis sizes.

I'd have to imagine even in the yaoi, that doesn't happen.

I hope so. It shouldn't cost that much with every season being like 20 minutes long.
Plus, it's always nice to see that someone can make a CG series that isn't painfully ugly.

So I have to ask... does anyone find anohana cliche @ all? I can't say I've seen this premise often, or at all... Or at least in anime. A friend of mine said it was cliched with a convinent setup. I'm finding this hard to swallow.
I can theoretically understand that complaint...but cliche seems to speak not only to an unoriginal story but an unoriginal story told in a boring manner. Once one considers how very difficult it would be to write a "wholly original" story then we move on to focusing on the execution of the story.

Ano Hana has very good execution.
