Thank god when I watched toradroa it was my first time hearing Tsundere Rie, if it wasn't for that i don't think i would ever been able to finish it.

Like I said a while back, I'm pretty sure Toradora was a fluke, that of JC Staff lucking out to good source material.

I'm the kind of person that likes both the style as well as the theme in his porn. So I'll take a Goromenz or a Mogudan just as well as a Kensoh Ogawa. After all, we're not talking about someone like Horikawa Gorou, which I can still appreciate, but who has a style that's just, well...

Actually Goromenz isn't bad, I was just trying to think of an artist who draws lousy tits, and I couldn't find the example I wanted because I tend not to remember shitty artists. And yeah, Horikawa Gorou is horrible, lol. It's like a really bad version of Black Dog, and I don't even like Black Dog. I got about 200 folders in my hentai directory just dedicated to individual artists and their works (that's one folder per artist/circle). My god-tier mangaka are Hujiya Honten (Thomas) and Uropyon (Urotan), but there are plenty others that I'm incredibly fond of, and there are too many that I just enjoy in general to even begin listing. But seriously, fuck hentai anime. Ero-manga and doujinshi are just too good, I can't even be bothered with the video stuff.

HanaIro 5: Kind of boring after watching Denpa Onna. Needs more crazy girls in futons.

I just do all three.

It's more weighted towards doujinshi though.

...aaand I9 has a Decoppachi/Hidiri Rei drawing in his avatar now, :lol, It's so bad that I can easily recognize my favorite artists at a glance when I've never even seen the image before. It's not like anime styles vary wildly from artist to artist either.

and I have horrible eyesight!

No, it's brain meltingly well animated harlequin style erotica, with the brain meltingly bad harlequin style erotica plot to go with it. There was only one episode made, likely because that first episode raped and murdered the production budget.

Anyway, I've had a bit of fridge brilliance over Kino's Journey and why I like it so much. It seems to be more of a spiritual show for me than anything else, and putting the concept of the journey in the context of faith, it sort of fits in my world-view. And that's not specifically religious faith, it's faith in life, love, and the idea that people want to be good, they just sometimes lose themselves, but that's a beautiful thing one way or another, because they get to chose...

I've always been adamant that ero-manga is the absolute way to go. They're tankobons usually so you get some of the best one-shots and chapters from annual anthologies, + far less censorship than you typically find in doujinshi (although this depends...), Tenma, LO, and Megastore publish tankobons with minimal to almost no censorship. They also have some of the best artists around. I love me some anthology collections. Megastore has been on fire from 2009 on.... Almost every issue is ace.

Doujinshi can also be great, but there is so much of it, you really gotta know what you're looking for... and covers can be very, very deceiving, lol.

So did the summer anime list get released? Because I saw a list and there was nothing that looked good on it.
It's pretty accurate. Better than last summer at least.

Natsume Yuujin-Chou San (3rd season)
Sacred Seven (Sunrise's Tiger & Bunny is surprisingly good. Who knows how good this might be)
Blood-C (another Blood anime, why not. Didn't like Blood+ much though)
Usagi Drop (The rumors are the studio has to be completely incompetent and dumb for them to fail at adapting this exquisite story I think?)
Ikoku no Meiro Croisee (one name: Junichi Sato)
No.6 (Bones and...? I don't know either)
The IdolM@ster ("Okay, let's go!")
Dantalian no Shoka (May Gainax go crazy. Only way this will salvage the bad manga. Love the art in the manga though).

Everything else I'll consider checking out, I'm too lazy to write stuff about them.

Ro-Kyu-Bu! needs to perish. I need this other animu:

Hijiri Rei's style is very idiosyncratic, I think. The way in which he draws the eyes very round makes it easy to distinguish.

Nonoriri

If your name is Nonoriri you have to go buy Nanami's tampons.
There are only around 50~60 artists or groups that I follow/have followed in the past (if they aren't as active currently) and even then I only follow some of them for very specific content reasons rather than artistry.

The eyes really are a dead giveaway, when I9 posted it I knew it was Hijiri Rei immediately.

Yeah, I really need to follow fewer circles and artists. I'd like to spend less time doing this actually (as much as I enjoy it). But I've never followed anyone for content. I'm weird. I love art porn (or is that porn art..?) I love the way it looks, so style and artistry are all I care about, heh. I rarely enjoy anything if it looks wonky, or if the style isn't appealing to me.

Hols shit, son. AnoHana is so good. I forgot all about it until I happen to come across it on that release countdown site. I'm only two eps in, and already; I can say show of the season, so far.

A-1 is bringing a game that not even I knew that had in them.

A-1 did Kannagi so they where always cool with me.

I liked a lot the first episode of Moshidora. The way Minami goes about turning the concepts of business management into managing a baseball team was both amusing and interesting.
On to episode 2 now.

Also, I need to decide what to buy this month between Akira BRD and Sword of the Stranger BRD to go along with the last box of E7. I already own the Akira DVD (and like the movie a lot) while I've never watched Sword (but I also have a love/hate relationship with BONES). Which should I pick of the two?!

Risette

A-1 did Occult Academy and Fractale. I'll always hold that against them.

It's my fault for watching those shows I guess... BUT STILL.

I would go with the one you haven't already seen. I actually just bought Akira today and Sword of the Stranger on Thursday, lol.

Nothing needs to be believed when they've already redeemed themselves by announcing it.

Goddamnit, now I can't either... D:<

Anyway, there's only two I know I'll watch, and those are Usagi Drop and R-15. The former's a no brainer, and the latter's for the lulz and if the plot is goofy enough to carry me through the season, I'll be satisfied. I might check out Blood C (because it's CLAMP) but that depends on my mood. I've also been working on keeping my Gainax addiction down, so I want to say I'll miss their next season pander-fest, but in all likelihood, I'll give in, watch it, like it, and feel dirty because of it.

I think it's an expectation thing, I just know what to expect from certain artists and if I enjoy it I'll probably follow them. Like Shindo L or someone, I tend to like the content more than his art. (even though there was this one page in his C79 book that I though was really neat looking the bottom of page 10 I think, one of the female characters is drawn in a way that is much more appealing to me than his usual stuff)

I still want to get his new H-manga though.

It's a light novel adaptation man.

The best thing Gainax could do is run with the concept only, horror stories galore, and up the violence and gore if you haven't read the manga.

Nothing much is in there though (most of it is the "Becoming a Girl" chapters plus an extra chap after the ending of the same story).

True, but Birdie, Working!!, and Occult Academy lowered them a tier in my book. Which is kind of funny, because I actually enjoyed watching those shows. They've got themselves a ton of charm, but they always seem to lack filling--can't really put a finger on it. AnoHana seems to be stronger already.

Never watched Fractale, so I can't sy anything on that one, if that was them.

Hujiya Honten Thomas - Sweet Lip is a far, far, better book. This is not up for debate, even though this is just my opinion, lol.

I read all of it already, I'm probably not going to by h-manga or doujins again this year though so it doesn't matter.

Nichijou 04 - The first 80% or so of this episode was fantastic and I was thinking that it should indeed stay in its top spot as best anime of the season, but the last sketch, yet another "Mai trolls idiot girl" one, brought it down a little -- there are simply too many of those. Some of that is amusing, too much gets old.

Other than that though, this was a fantastic episode full of great jokes. I loved it. So many funny things in this episode...

I can theoretically understand that complaint...but cliche seems to speak not only to an unoriginal story but an unoriginal story told in a boring manner. Once one considers how very difficult it would be to write a "wholly original" story then we move on to focusing on the execution of the story.

Ano Hana has very good execution.
Yeah, I agree. Ano Hana isn't the most original anime ever, but the story is told very well and is quite well executed, with more original elements than most anime series.

Dog Days 5

Holy shit, that fight between Gaul and Sink was AMAZING! This is supposed to be a world where you barely do any damage, yet the cat king ends up friggin
SKATEBOARDING ON THE DUDE'S FACE. Then he gets some crazy aura claws and shit goes down. Then when you think it's back to wacky kemomimi hijinks, AIR LANCE SURFING.

Man, this show is not what I expected it to be AT ALL.
Yeah, it's way more shonen and less harem than I was expecting. It's definitely a brain-off show, but entertaining.

Just make a separate hentai thread already.

Naw, I know it's a sidetrack discussion sometimes when the topic is seasonal anime.... but it's easier to freely discuss it given that we already have people in here that are interested in anime and/or cultural japanese entertainment. You make a seperate hentai thread and it's just gonna be filled with comments like SMH, is this CP?, get laid, why we still got ponies, and/or useless arguments against forms of porn that people don't agree with. Just thinking about it sounds exhausting.

Well that all wrapped up in a neat little package. Another strong episode in my book.

Id imagine its partly because there are a number of mods that frequent this thread, so most of the anime trolling happens elsewhere.

The thread moves way too fast and the regulars can be vicious.

Anyone who tries that in here will get their asses kicked.

The odd one or two will come and try that shit when the thread is just starting, but the trolling gets drowned out very quickly.

Moshidora 2 was still nice to follow, although Minami's "I need to do something, I need to say something, I need to do something!" toward the end wasn't all that great. While the idea about conducting interviews using Yuki was good and helped in the end (so "improving" the situation can be attributed to her in part), that little bit made her look totally useless in a difficult situation.

Hrm, the final segment was actually my favorite in that episode. Mai never gets old for me.

Originally is overrated.

AnoHana 03 - Good episode... plenty to say about it. :)

Also, so Menma's ghost is corporeal and can do things like make muffins and play Game Boy? I wonder what that would look like for someone other than Jinta watching, would there be floating objects and stuff? :)

Ghost dynamics in Ano Hana are weird.
She can affect physical objects and push down Jintan, and Anaru felt her weight in the first episode. But when she tried to pull apart Anaru and Tsuruko, she was unable to. Plot convenient ghost mechanics indeed.

Its possible that Anaru and Tsuruko just didnt notice?
Would be nice if they explain that a bit though, but I guess it doesnt really matter to the overall plot.
