But
they didn't exactly end up together. They sorta all went to pursue their own goals or whatever.
Sure, because it'd be squicky - depsite how GAF says it's cool for 20 year old women to bang their students. I mean, it's not like they're doomed to be apart like every other Shinkai movie about moving on.

By that logic, Voices and Places both had happy endings because the film ends right before their happily ever after ending or it's heavily foreshadowed.

Also by the time that guy reaches his girlfriend on the other side of the galaxy he'll be 30 and she'll still be 17.

The difference is that this movie
gives you that tag at the end. Did you want some Cold Play song to play over a scene of them making out or something? lol

What does the tag say?

It wasnt subbed for me I think.

Golden Boy - 1

HAHAHA HOLY SHIT THIS GUY
I love how the first episode immediately sets out the parameter for his character: overexcitable, quick learner, total perv but with a sense of morals.

At first I thought the dub mumbled a bit too much, but I gotta love the overenunciation:
"a B-lack B-ra!"
"I hear the sound OF A WOMAN SCREAMING!" and his face turning all Cromartie
That's the best part about the dub!

We're only 5 episodes in, but we have some delicious cheesecake being displayed here.

That's the best part about the show!

So:

Voices: Physical distance
Places: Mental distance
5cm/s: Emotional distance
Children: Distance between Shinkai's talent and Miyazaki's
Garden: Class distance

You're a tougher man than most.

I still have no idea of why I have done it... Probably because I cared for SAO at the beginning and wanted to see the ending. At least I can now say without hesitation who is the worst, more pathetic villain I have seen in any media.

Date a Life 5

Had a blast with this, one of the funniest episodes.

So what else can Shinkai make a movie about? Social/class distance?

The age thing is technically already social/class distance.

Here's my guess: Quantum distance, the infinite space between elementary particles

Garden of Words:

Shinkai's best looking film yet. Too bad my client crashes when I try to seek or else I'd post some screencaps.

Story was okay, typical Shinkai although I wish it had a "happy ending" instead of this bittersweet shit.

Bittersweet endings are the best, step back.

But yeah, Shinkai needs to change it up. His formula is basically "bittersweet lovestory + scenery porn = movie" with varying degrees of story telling skill. I still like 5cm and Distant Star the most though.

Kintaro is boss, end of story. The uber-detailed reaction faces make the show for me, they're so fucking hilarious.

So:

Voices: Physical distance
Places: Mental distance
5cm/s: Emotional distance
Children: Distance between Shinkai's talent and Miyazaki's
Garden: Age distance

yeah that sounds about right.

he should do a time traveling one about the distance of time.

Damn. Although I suppose that distance narrows depending on witch version of Miyazaki you're talking about. There's senile Miyazaki and Miyazaki Jnr. too!

He did try changing it up. It didn't work out so well.

Shingeki no Kyojin 09

urghh not a whole lot happened this episode. I mean, it showed how
Eren turned into a Titan and escaped
but that took up a good amount of time, as well as introducing the older soldiers which took a disproportionate amount of time as well.

So. Many. Stillshots.

Hey guys, I'm looking for the name of a shoujo anime. Mid-to-late 90's, art style looks similar to One Piece, high school romance plot. I can't for the life of me remember this, since I only saw the PV.

Goldenboy is actually pretty good. The voice you hear is Doug Smith, and he is a real life douchebag, but his voice work in this dub is LEGEND.
Check out his art though, he's pretty good.

Ok, I'm sold, this is amazing.

I couldn't stop laughing with the rant of the commander while she obliterated everything.

And in 7 Kurumi is introduced, yay!

Zettai Bouei Leviathan - 08

Damn right !

If this was a game i would have probably screamed already how cliché the whole thing is ..but this is an anime and given what the cast did previously i'll be just satisfied because :

- They did try to display teamwork againt unreasonnable ods
- They did try to know /wonder what the hell is going on.
- They showed a resolve and now have a clear goal ahead
- Showed a nice display of friendship.

For all those reason i'll forgive this episode for the lack of syrop jokes.

BRING BACK THE SYROP JOKES !!

Karuta is the road to :sdburton.

All the energy missing from last week's episode was present here, and it also helps that the opponents this time weren't a total bore. There's still a lot of cheapness going around, but there were some nice bits of animation despite the heavy use of flashbacks. Again.

This show looks a lot better than it has any right to be.

Doki Doki Precure 18

All five Royal Crystals are in place, though Regina still has the red one. Really, I'm almost 100% certain that she's Ace at this point. And Joe and Marie's backstory was so very Disney. You could almost hear "When You Wish Upon a Star" playing. Though Makopi had some of the best moments. I loved her being angry-cute that she was out of the loop on some things, and her recreating her commercial in the train was wonderful. Keep fighting, Makopi!

Dokidoki Precure 18

Today, Mr. Johnathan Klondike offers some explanations and Makopi continues to be Mad at him (for not telling her about his existence, or not telling her he was the Princess' fiancee, we'll never know). Regina still continues to be the greatest of things (she's a smidge more sarcastic and yandere when she's evil). Nice ep all around.

Next Week: VILLAIN VS. HERO SPORTS (If it's anything like Smile's sports episode, I expect tons of cheating and counter cheating.)

MakoP in full-on jealousy mode is even cuter than normal.

The bird's existence is finally acknowledged, and
NO ONE ASKS ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL? Come on. Toei is just laughing, I bet. And Rikka needs to get her shit together, she misses more jabs in every new episode.

New casual clothes! Summer is here at last. Literally every outfit is an improvement, and I liked the old ones a fair bit.

The princess
is an archer as well as a lancer? Too OP. Since the Dokis already have a bow, maybe their next powerup will be a lance! Ha.

The QUALITY sure is high in this episode. They've been saving budget for a while, but this episode's faces are especially bad.

The fight.
Holy shit. I knew the Dokidoki hype train had no brakes, but apparently it doesn't need rails either!

Jonasan continues to be useful! Still no transformation scene, but just whipping out his sword on cue is enough for me.

Woah, that's some Precure Formation stuff right there. So Mana runs on top of a moving train, jumps in front of it like a boss, and then - MANA JUST THREW THE TRAIN. Good lord. We Final Fantasy now.

Pink crystal get. That kind of bugs me - this was hardly a Mana episode. Since they all came from things related to the princess so far, I was hoping for an archery contest for Mana. But really, every episode is a Mana episode, I guess, so it's not a huge deal.

Next episode looks pretty amusing. Betting plot trinkets in games. Will the bad guys' bowling practice finally pay off?

This show is great and you should watch it.

It gets pretty awesome from there! Kurumi arrives and everything else bows to her.

Tohka is pretty damned adorable. It says a lot that I think she is actually cuter in many ways than Yoshino is.
