Not exactly the heart of my complaint. Lots of anime has bathing scenes. Not a lot of anime I can name that grab a child and forces the viewer to stare at their breasts twice in one episode.

The last thing I read was that Ghibli actually disbanded their CG department. Now, I'm not saying Ghibli never uses CG but I have no doubt that for cars and other stuff, Miyazaki will not allow CG in his work.
Right, and Mobile Suit Gundam will show you more with Frau Bow, too. But it still isn't the same thing. Kallen's character and age aren't the same as Suguha's character and age.

They're still both underaged, they still both have scenes that force the viewer to stare at their breasts twice in one episode, and Geass even goes as far as having them uncensored in some scenes.
Oh yeah, I totally have a bias toward good characters being naked! Except no.
Why would you think they are? Kallen is older than Suguha, both in terms of actual age and in you know, not behaving like she's a fucking kid in every scene she's in. Plus there's a conversation going on during that scene, whereas Suguha spends her scene thinking about how in love she is with her brother or Kirito. Kallen's 17, and Suguha's like, 14. The camera practically gropes Suguha during that scene. Have you seen this scene? Maybe you should because it's creepy as fuck.
Being censored or not isn't the point, either. Frau Bow's shown completely naked in MSG but there's nothing creepy there because she's helping kids take a bath and the camera doesn't go into fucking microscope mode to watch the water pour down her jugs.

Geass Akito Vol2 finally has an opening date in Japan - Sept 14. Wtf? That's not Summer. That's a year after Vol1 opened. Wtf is taking Sunrise so long with this? There are also new characters, mechs, and screens on the site for Vol2. There's a new IP-blocked trailer too. Thanks Bandai!

And thus this show ends on a fairly high and poignant note, leaving the audience on a whimsical note on the innate beauty of the camera and it's ability to capture make eternal those fleeting moments that would've otherwise been forgotten forever.
This show definitely would've benefited from a two cour series instead of one with more episodes to flesh out and make the relationships far more meaningful (like the childhood friend) but this did a pretty good job given the imposed limitations. It also helps that it had some really nice animation and the best OP the the season (truthfact). I believe in Yokoyama.

I honestly think it's equally creepy that I was subjected to the same thing in another show and can't really write one show off just because they act their age or not. I've watched up to that far on both shows, and I definitely felt I was subjected the same way in SAO that I was with Geass.

I don't know what I can say then beyond that I think that those 3-5 years between being 13/14 and 17/18 make a difference when combined with the scene's intent. Nude scenes in MSG made no difference based on age because the only one that felt like it was for fanservice was Char. Geass had a lot of egregious fan service, but since it wasn't on characters who looked and were children, I didn't take exception to this. If Nunally or Kaguya had been sexed up, I would've made comments, but since it was the older girls in their late teens, I just shrugged it off.
It's 4 AM here, though, so I agree to just end the topic. I've got work in the morning, too.
I actually don't mind Nowi as a character in Fire Emblem Awakening, but I only S-Rank her with Ricken for this reason. Anyone else is just plain creepy. That and her terrible outfit. I'd say the bolded is more or less exactly what I've been trying to say.

There's never a good opportunity to wear a mantle in every day life.
In the exceedingly unlikely event I ever made it to sit on a bench in court or something I would do my utmost to transform the judge's robe slowly but surely into a stately mantle.
Different expectations lead to different reactions.
Sword Art Online presents itself as a fantasy wish-fulfillment show about being trapped in a deadly video game and using your l33t skills to win at it, plus falling in love along the way. You'd find that kind of thing in Western kids/YA literature all the time. A Western viewer doesn't expect there to be weird incest fanservice in a story like that.
Yosuga no Sora is a romantic harem show based on an H-game. The promotional material - hell, even the name of the show - makes it fairly clear what you're getting into if you watch it. You're expecting a certain outcome from the start of the show, and that's what you get.

I'm not sure what all these characters' stated ages are, but regardless of that, Sugu feels much closer to someone like Kallen or Shirley than she does to Nunnally or Kaguya. Nunnally and Kaguya are unambiguously "lolis", whereas it would never occur to me to refer to Sugu as one. Sugu feels more "slightly younger but still on a level with the main cast" rather than "presented as a child". Admittedly the unholy quantities of :chet also play into this a fair amount.
(Of course, personally I'd be all for Sugu fanservice even if she was a loli, but that's neither here nor there as far as this discussion is concerned...)
I totally married Nono/Nowi. And then semi-regretted it because it meant I couldn't marry Nn/Nah.
Even Doremi getting slapped on the face was a bit much for the original, apparently.

Da Capo was in 2003 and the sister actually wins in that one. There's probably a bunch of earlier shows I don't know about though. It's not a new trend anyway.
