I said earlier I'd like to see Zura's yacht. I no longer want to see her yacht.
I knew things got crazy at the end but I was not prepared for this. My body was not ready. I actually feel ill right now. God, what the fuck? It's giving me the same feels as Saya No Uta. I think I could use a rest.
Absolutely marvellous. There is something beautiful about seeing the descent to madness that people suffer when they watch the School Days endings. Staying awake just to see this has paid off.
Chihayafuru is like a prom queen dating some boring loser that nobody likes. You just know she could do so much better for herself and you can't figure out why she's stuck with him.

Cutting someone's stomach open to see if they are pregnant
is a lot more effective than a fatality in Mortal Kombat.
Also Tomat, you should watch it. While it may not live up to the hype for you, it's still pretty interesting. I knew one or two things about the ending and it was still really shocking.

I actually did, waaaaaay back then. It wasn't as "popular" as it is now (here at least), I just knew the name and a friend begged me to watch this and stick with it for at least a few episodes. The horror.
Besides, not all orbital systems are equally complex or significant. While it might be a pain predicting where a tiny asteroid moves the planets themselves are really easy to predict accurately.
I have to finish this japanese watch before the new series start, only watched the brazilian version. I started watching last year the three first seasons, because of the black bars around here and I wanted to remember one of the classics from my childhood. This (and in some part S)is the season I don't really remember much since I only got to watch it at some of my friend's house that had cable and when I would go to the medic to do a check-up, the clinic had cable (Stars was the same). =)
Rewatching the first seasons was all kinds of awesome, because it was so many years ago since the last time I had watched it and I didn't really remember everything really well...then I started the first episode and my body remembered everything, every sound, every effect, I almost cried, felt goose bumps, I had that warm and fuzzy feeling inside me. I think I need to do this to other things I watched when I was younger.
Any insight from the residents specialist in Sailor Moon is welcome.

Miharu vs Miyamoto Torazo was funny, and had 3 nice seconds of animation. This Lemure was sad.
I still dont understand how Miharus headband works.
New way to cut onions get!
What really helps sell this story for me is how shockingly well drawn (although, not literally of course) all the characters are. Their over the top manner of speaking, the heightened emotions (particularly in that great scene at the start where Kasuga is running around), the phrases they use and the reaction they have to the situations that occur. Kasuga, mumbling poetry to himself and looking down on other's for not understanding it really encapsulates an accurate a picture of what a pretentious teenager looks like. I love the little details too, such as the books Kasuga reads:
The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch? He could have been reading a much more traditional novel by Philip K Dick, such as Man in the High Castle, but because it's Kasuga he has to read one of Dick's more esoteric and nonsensical works because it's too deep for normal people.
I might have imagined this but didn't either Chamber or Ledo make reference to how
the planet Earth had been lost to the fleet? Considering there differences in technology and how you don't really expect a planet of ice to recover overnight, the fleet could have been away for long enough that the knowledge of where Earth is has vanished?
Remember how the daimon Kaorinite oversaw would extract heart crystals by exposing an erotic spot on their body? You're seeing exactly what you're supposed to see. What was female seduction and assault is now male seduction and assault.
In honour of yet another poster falling victim to completing School Days I thought it would be fun to look back at the history of School Days-watches on AnimeGAF. I present it to you below:
How watchable is Pokemon nowadays? I used to watch it up until Hoenn's season. I'm having hardcore nostalgia and I'm wondering if I'm going to be heavily disappointed by going back to the TV series.
I'm thinking of watching the inevitable Gen 6 series if only to give me an understanding of how fucking bad some anime can be and due to my love of the games.
Apparently they opened a special official temporary Aikatsu shop in Akihabara. Some of the clientele were either exactly what you'd expect, or the exact opposite of what you expected.
maybe I'm just really tired, but this is a series about distractions, about minutiae, about the sort of miscellany and errata that ruins focus and just kind of settles about the scatterbrained skits in this inchoate freefall of dogs and novisodsfsiodfasdofijasdoifhakas and disabled lesbian hijinks. I don't know, I don't even remember half of what happened. There were boobs.
maybe there's a purpose to all the accumulation of trivial details, like the pursuit of this wealth of details. Yellow is a girl who has no friends. She sits there in that room, there's no club. The teacher is worried for her because this girl with no mother or friends calls her mother and she has two sock puppets that she yells at and occasionally gropes herself with now and then. The completely random thematic google searching is just a way for her to diassociate from the miserable rigor of actually existing in this friendless bubble where her only companions are her two hands. The Aikawa girl isn't avoiding her 'friends,' she avoids Yellow because Yellow is a stinking mess of a human being, sort of like a wahjah-er version of the watamore girl.

I was going to make something like this. Also it might help to search using Nafe's anime thread compilation and perhaps dedicated School Days threads from before mega anime threads were a thing like now for more victims impressions.
Edit: Seeing my first episode impression for School Days makes me sad now, so much more detailed my impressions were back then. I've really gone lazy.

Grabbed the Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet First Fan Book, featuring a bunch of Naruko Hanaharu character designs, and a ton of mechanical art work. It's really quite fantastic for something that only ran me 1,000 yen.

There are some really cool pieces of art explaining the functions behind each of the main ships, as well as how the whole formation is laid out and why. The whole thing is super detailed, and it's surprising how well thought out the logistical side of it is. Really great stuff.
In fact, even several 'channers' from /a/ & /m/ defended (on their peculiar way, all being said) and supported him on places like the 'GAiNAX weblogs' (http://gainax.weblogs.jp/gurrenlagann/2007/04/post_8837.html), but it is difficult to know what responses were made simply for being divisive/contrarian and such...
Mr. Kobayashi, as friend of Hiroyuki Imaishi, knew what exactly he was planning to achieve but also knows that he really appreciates his work and that was the important notion, so what were Mr. Imaishi's intentions towards the audience with this episode was a secondary thing for him. They both worked together on this episode as the pals they are because the director asked him to do it on that way, and Mr. Kobayashi even commented that it would have been natural to hand his labor for correction to further adapt it, but both Hiroyuki Imaishi and character designer GORIPON refused:
Osamu Kobayashi - JE Sud 2011 (Interview Exclusive) said:
In my opinion, Osamu Kobayashi was conscious of all this and knew how outsiders would react, but did it anyway because he loves what he does, and for the homage this also was... Kanada-style.
Screencaps are not gonna do this episode justice. Holy shit dat animation bump. It was like I was watching a different show altogether. I'd say to watch this episode if you are interested in Fresh, but the truth is that this is probably only a one time occurrence.

Now that I've digested School Days a bit I guess I'll give my final thoughts.
I think I...liked it? Like isn't really the right word. Perhaps that I was entertained by it? No that's not right either, because it didn't feel like I was watching a ridiculous disaster. Assuming that the viewer is supposed to dislike Makoto(obviously if that isn't true then it is a beautiful disaster), it seemed like it succeeded in creating something unique and interesting.
Thar be spoilers below! YARR! I tagged some but probably not all of them.
First off, I don't think the ending of School Days would have worked at all without all the episodes before it. Of course you have all the character development and essentials like that throughout the story but I don't think it could have work with a more insane or less frustrating beginning or middle. The path through School Days feels like a walking through a Desert of Hate, it's seems like a long journey and it's constantly wearing you down but then you see it, a speck, off in the distance. And as you continue your trek through the Desert of Hate, your hate and frustration towards the characters of this story continues to build up and intensify, past a point you ever thought was possible and then you reach it, the Oasis of Insanity. All the hate is gone, replaced by an intense sense of shock, bewilderment and a bit of joy as well. There's probably a term for this in literature but that's irrelevant, my point is, the unique pacing of School Days is what makes it such a fascinating show.
The you have the characters. Let's focus on the main three for the most part, Makoto, Sekai and Katsura.
I'm disappointed no one picked up on my HILARIOUS Gintama reference in my impressions
We'll start with Makoto, the heroic protagonist! So if we act on the belief that by the end of the show, we aren't supposed to like Makoto, there are two paths for him through this story. First, a path where the viewer likes Makoto in the beginning of the tale, they find his antics and goofy charm in the first 2 or 3 episodes endearing. The second follows the path that we were never really supposed to like Makoto, his antics were just annoying and he continued to get worse through the series. Personally, I didn't like him from the first episode. I found him annoying. I didn't hate him but I didn't understand why the other characters liked him. So assuming we were never really supposed to like him, this would allow the viewer's opinion to increase in intensity much quicker. There could also be more added frustration from the viewer with the protag getting these girls in the first place. The viewer doesn't see any real redeemable qualities that make him appealing to the ladies, outside his pants anyway, which leads to more and more and more frustration as the show goes on. So this would make Makoto's entire point of existing to frustrate the viewer. The alternative follows a more traditional path of corruption. He starts off as a well meaning young lad but as he gets a taste for boning, his attitude changes, and a character that was previously likeable loses his way. This would could lend credence to the flashbacks in the ending. Perhaps the viewer is meant to feel sad for the character they used to like? The flashbacks still have some impact when the viewer dislikes Makoto, I at least felt a sense of pity mixed with my disgust but in that scenario the main focus of the flashbacks is Sekai.
I'll use this awesome segway to talk about Sekai and Katsura.
The two main love interests have an interesting dynamic throughout the show. Stage 1
Initially Katsura is the fairly standard shy love interest, interested in the protagonist but too shy or cautious to engage in anything. Sekai, on the other hand, plays the friend who loves the protagonist but feels she can't say how she feels and helps land the protagonist in another relationship, which she later regrets. Although this may not be the case if we believe the end of the show.
Stage 2
Next up we see Katsura take the timid girlfriend role. In a relationship with the protag but it's moving slow. The feelings she has are genuine but feeling aren't really enough for Makoto, are they?
At the same time we see Sekai shift into underhanded tactics mode. Confronted with the reality of her love interest and friend dating she tries certain methods to win over her love while not upsetting her friendship. She feels guilty about this but ultimately it's what she wants.
Stage 3
Then we see quite a large change take place.
Surprisingly we see Sekai become an equal girlfriend to the protag as Katsura. This is the point where Makoto's slimy personality really starts to shine. He attempts to both girls on his chain at the same time while also trying to keep the other unaware.
Stage 4
Now we see a shift towards Sekai. The protag acknowledges her as his girlfriend in public.
At the same time, he avoids Katsura. The only thing that keeps them in a relationship is the protag never actually calling it off. He constantly cheats on her but still wants to keep her on his leash, until he is forced to choose and sort of dumps her.
Stage 5
Stage 5 throws in another twist, Otome is introduced as another love interest of Makoto. More casual that the other two. She easily becomes a regular in the protag's pants.
This leads Sekai to feel some of the same emotions Katsura felt earlier in the show. Insecurities about herself and her relationship with Makoto. Katsura is not present.
Stage 6
Makoto now comes out as a total slut. He's sleeping with pretty much every female in the school. Otome suddenly realises that he's become a total piece of shit and forgets his ass. Sekai, distraught by this development and the loss of contact with her friend, is mostly moping but soon finds out she's pregnant. Katsura is insane.
Stage 7
Sekai has now just become a burden to Makoto. He's annoyed that's she's pregnant and doesn't really care about her. It's revealed that she may have just introduced Makoto and Katsura so she seemed nice to the protag and could use that to get close to him. Katsura meets up with Makoto. With no other girl answering his called, he's forced to rely on old faithful who, in her current mental state, gladly accepts him.
Stage 8
Sekai is confronted with Katsura's return and Makoto's utterly disgusting attitude. She kills him visciously. Katsura brutally murders Sekai and possibly her unborn child and then goes on vacation with a severed head.
What I'm saying with this unnecessary list is there are huge changes of which character can be viewed with sympathy. Early to mid show we see a focus on Katsura being brought down. then mid to late it's Sekai. Then in the end...I don't really know what happened. I guess I'd be more sympathetic to
the woman who was left alone and possibly pregnant, was told by her lover and his former girlfriend to get an abortion and was then stabbed and gutted, more so than the insane woman who went on a holiday with a decapitated head.
I don't know if I have anything else to say, I'm kind of tapped right now. I just needed to start writing. It was a fascinating experience that I'm glad I went through. Again, if we're actually supposed to like Makoto then everything I said just go out the window. But there would be something amazing and beautiful about that too.
AND TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVEN'T EMBARKED ON THIS JOURNEY YET, I WISH YOU LUCK!
Now that I've digested School Days a bit I guess I'll give my final thoughts.

They created different scenarios in the game including Good ends But for "some reason" (i know exactly why) the total crazy of the bad ends is what made the thing popular.
So what do they do ? They create a special trainwreck of bad end for the anime as fan service.
The bad ends are just well abrupt and reward an undecisive choice driven player with very expected consequences.

Sorry, but I don't find it disrespectful when their intention wasn't to make what could be considered a visually "bad" episode without merits, but to present a contrast of (an unnerving for some) simile/like 'off-model' or shockingly different animation considering what was seen previously on the series.
It was playful and an inside-joke all along, and for trusting Mr. Kobayashi and having him in consideration for it, Hiroyuki Imaishi precisely shows a respect for the uniqueness of his work. After all, they are professionals planning a series aimed at a determined kind of viewers, and consequently each animator has their own artistic sensibilities but also aim to please in a particular way with their projects, they are aware of what could cater to others or provoke a certain reaction, and that experience or learned understanding sometimes works in their favor to surprise in a way it doesn't (transparently) reflects what they personally come to appreciate or not.
