I don't think watching the movies first is recommended at all, since they barely develop Nanoha and Fate at all. They're definitely fanservice of the highest caliber, especially the movie 2nd.

Welp, typical cliffhanger but can't complain. Show overall was disappointing but it did deliver on some fronts. Gonna take a look at these specials now.

Okay, something's happening, go on... Oh my goodness this is so typical. Yeah yeah, girl discovers cute little side-kick, tests off her new powers, defeates evil monster.

Please pick up the pace soon anime.

Nanoha - 2
The little creature made her a magical girl and can communicate with her telepathically. I swear I saw that in another magical girl anime that came out years later, but I'm probably just crazy.

Oh noes! Another monster, yay! She won! UGGGH.

Please tell me I won't have to wait long before a nice good conflict comes up in this show that makes me care about the characters. I'm not getting my hopes up. Since Urobuchi didn't write this, I'm guessing that nobody's going to get decapitated in the third episode.

My reactions to everything seem to be different, though. My reaction to 00 was different from most folk (except the movie, which we can all agree was pure and utter shit, right?) my reaction to G was different from Jarmel's, my reaction to Code Golbez the Pizza Hut is always something, people got mad when I didn't like ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWA, etc. I just have crazy, unlovable reactions to stuff.

Kiddy Grade will be watched probably when I finish Betterman. I finished Azumanga, but I put Slayers next in that slot. It was a tough decision, because I was considering checking out this High School of the Dead thing, but I dunno.

And Luci is my VA crush.

Yeah, but if he commanded her to never ever know the truth on that subject, no matter how many times she unraveled it, his Geass would auto-wipe and no one would be the wiser so long as he played it carefully. This way either everyone's gonna be "Yo where's the Shirley?" or everyone's gonna be "What do you mean you don't know him?" Questions will multiply, rather than decrease.

Just avoid Kiddy Girl And. That is the sequel to Kiddy Grade and its awful and wrong.

I don't honestly know what I'm going to do here in awhile. I'm pretty sure I've hit the limit for good modern mecha anime, and that'll leave me with good old mecha anime (which if UC Gundam is any indication, will be slowly paced) or bad modern mecha anime (which if Rah Xephon is any indication, will be slowly paced and creatively bankrupt.)

I'm running out of ideas. I think I'll sit down today, write out all the shows I've watched, the degree to which I liked them, then come back looking for suggestions.

I guess I was supposed to feel mad :firehawk this episode. But I don't care about any of these characters so it wasn't really effective. Another boring ep. We had a demonstration, not a battle, a demonstration. Which had zero tension. I'll probably drop it next episode. The aliens look pretty stupid too.

So for people who hate K-ON!! and everything that it represents, well, this episode exists as proof that even something as simple as a
high school graduation
actually requires some effort to pull off without it being a complete and boring mess.

The :firehawk moments were unearned, the
demonstration
was unearned... basically everything that K-ON!! does successfully, this episode manages to fail at.

I think Yoshida might be in Okada-bot territory now. RIP in peace. :(

All I really want to say about this episode is that the whole fujyoshi thing is so weirdly mainstream now. Or if it's not mainstream, it's just weird how every show needs to have a female character that wants to see men cover each other in their various sticky bodily fluids.

I don't really have a point... just that it's weird that this is the only way girls are allowed to express "otakuism" in nerd culture aimed at men. If someone wanted to make a feminist argument, I suppose one could suggest that this is the Japanese version of male nerds shaming female nerds in order to keep them out of their walled off hobby? But we know that Japan doesn't really work that way.

(Even if Comiket is separated by days based on yaoi days and porn for everyone else days :p)

I feel weird now, seeing that StrikerS was my favorite Nanoha season. All honestly, I thought that the first was the "worst*" of the three, and it went up from there.

Also, I still need to watch the movies...

*not implying it was bad, just not as good as A's and StrikerS

Of course she takes care of the problem and feels pretty bad about the fact that all the joy in the town was stolen, and makes her resolve.

Thanks to all the people who suggested it was going to get good, because I was honestly thinking about quitting after the second episode.

Alright. On to episode 4!

I agree, Chihiro story was far more interesting, if it was entirely about her I would've liked the anime a lot more.

Even though A's is my favourite I agree that the first season is the worst. I don't really understand why people dislike StrikerS so much.

StrikerS has LOTS of boring episodes that I find worse than the S1 episodes where it's traditional monster-of-the-week mahou shoujo, and most of the episodes where action was happening were underwhelming. That and I really don't care for the plot and overall direction the series went with StrikerS, that Time-Space Administration setting and other nonsense I could have done without. The movie 3rd will hopefully be the next great Nanoha thing.

NOTES WERE STOLEN, WHO COULD'VE DONE IT!?
It was the bird, Pii, who is actually Noise, but no one knows that yet. The Organ was played in order to make a rise for notes, and while Trio stole their notes they gathered, they managed to get it back through Teamwork. And then they got stolen not much longer later by the bird

No character spot lights this time, 9 episodes left. Trio The Minor keeps looking worse with each passing episode. And I'm still surprised that stock footage does not get any shorter.
