So for those who don't read the manga, I've got an important thing to say about Soma
If you're turned off by the fanservice and such in the first episode, keep watching. The first and second episodes are going to be by far the worst in the series on that aspect, and while it remains part of the series going forward, it becomes far less common and more subdued. It's still funny and over the top (And I prefer the sillier reactions to the more erotic ones anyway), but it's definitely never as creepy after the stuff in this and the next episode

SAO isn't as bad as people make it to be online I think. I liked it, and know tons of other people that did as well. If not then pardon us all for having bad taste in anime I guess

Trust me, it gets a lot better and fanservice gets toned down a lot as it goes on. First 2 episodes are also unfortunately going to be the worst offenders by far

Soma actually has really great characters, and a good story, as well as a great underlying theme. It's a shame a lot of people will dismiss it for stuff in this episode and next

Yeah, unfortunately that was probably the worst the series gets by far, and next episode has a pretty bad moment as well. After that nothing is ever nearly as creepy, and a lot of later reactions aren't sexual at all.

Lancer really is a charmer. Finally, a proper fight scene. Lancer's master isn't too concerned about hiding. Odd that Kotomine is playing his hand already. Looks like Kiritsugu and Irisviel are bluffing how much strength they have. Hope that causes some confusion later. Lancer sure is quick to pull out his big guns. Is that just a habit of Lancers? Guess Rider wasn't that smart after all. Waver just lost his one advantage, his anonymity.

I'd say most of the later stuff is more like this. Some still have some lewd stuff, but it's way more subdued and less common than anything in the early parts. And the tentacle one in this episode and the reaction in the next one are easily the worst offenders in the series
I can't disagree, but then again I think any other character would have improved the show in Yuuma's place.
Well Erina has her moments in episode 1 of Soma.

Alice is the second best.
Can't wait for the BDs then. Sexy instrument sakuga done by Kyoani with a high-priced, hi-quality release that will likely include a ton of goodies? Sign me up.

It is too bad that a lot of people like Shard are going to see the
and go "NOPE" without giving this series a fair chance. I'm not a big fan of that kind of fetish stuff either and thankfully that's really the only major one IIRC in the entire series. Were the series full of foodgasms like the one Shard freaked out about, I would have quit the series and wouldn't recommend it the way I do. The story and characters really are what excel in the show and the show is more a cooking battle shonen then a smut series.
This first episode? Perfect adaptation of the manga, it captures the tone and excitement of the manga, it's fairly well animated and the music builds the right kind of tension during the confrontation before the meal. If people can get over that first uncomfortable fetish gasm and stick with this series and the quality stays consistent this is going to be a potential AotY contender.

I'd say the reaction that'll be in next episode is also pretty bad, but other than those two pretty much nothing is that offensive. And once you hit the school trip arc, most of them really aren't lewd at all

This series is not what you think it is. It definitely isn't creepy and becomes great pretty soon. Not in a weird or a guilty way, but in a legitimately one. Try and have a positive attitude instead of a suspicious one and you will be rewarded.

While we are at it, episode 1 was lovely. Couldn't stop smiling for some good 10 minutes. And drooling. All is well.
It was by far my most hyped anime of the season. I really hope they keep it up.

I actually liked the OP and the ED, songs and all. The show pretty much lives up to the hype. Foodgasms were intense and the beginning of this show was way more erotic than I recall. Sound effects and the food was perfectly produced/animated. The clip after the ending theme was also hilarious. I'm looking forward to it.

Actually, looking back, the one that'll be next isn't as bad as I remembered it. Definitely nowhere near as bad as tentacles, but still one of the worse moments in the series

Hold on a second, shouldn't the lack of the markings reveal Irisviel as not a master? Assassin should've noticed that at the very least. Archer really wants attention. Lots of kings. Berserker can kick some serious ass. Forgot how much above the other Servants they were. He and Archer need to have a serious fight. They should be the strongest by far. Rider is super-bro. Moreso than teacher guy at least. Waver doesn't have the stamina. Seems that Kotomine will be targeting Kiritsugu next. He already wants to bang Kiritsugu, so presumably he should figure out who was spying on him. So how many people is it that want to bang Saber? Quite a lot apparently.

This was awesome! The reactions to the food and the cooking is so over the top I couldn't help but laugh. When this guy started cooking I felt like I was watching some climax fight.
I was impressed by Koufuku Graffiti foodgasms, but this is on another level. The bombastic soundtrack enhances it even further.
Main character seems competent and has a high competitive spirit which makes me think it'll be very entertaining to see his journey. I'm very excited to see where this goes.

I think it'll be OK. Too much overreaction due to one dude's inability to shrug off 2 seconds of animated tentacles (as weird as that sounds). I'm pretty hyped to see how it goes from here as long as the budget keeps up. Good start to the spring.

See, that is actually a problem with this show since it decided to make those artistic choices for the service of the show or whatever and it may turn people off to the program. Also, here is something to keep in mind, I have never sen this, this was my first impression and it made a terrible one, terrible enough for a instant write off. I didn't know it was going to be toned down, how would I know?
