I'll be frank, it's sort of surreal watching MHA and AoT on the same day. The reason being is that while MHA is a good to decent adaptation of the source material, AoT S2 is an excellent adaptation. It really highlights the importance of episodic pacing, framing, and just general artistic quality. The increased shading in the climax helps sell the importance of the scene and the emotions involved.

This cour for AoT is a huge fucking leap over S1 in terms of direction. It's actually a good show now. lol

Some of this I credit to Tetsurō Araki being kicked upstairs for this season so his goofball tendencies are not there anymore.

So the Tategami family trains its butlers to be ninjas. Yukari has her entire group pegged down. She suspected who Aoi was. Respect. Aoi manages makeup quite well for someone who hates that stuff. The old ojou dilemma of the family wanting you to focus on the business and nothing else. Actually I think this is the first time Precure has done that even with all of its ojous. Even Minami's family was fine with her having a different passion. Rio keeps twisting words to get people down. Why does Yukari not like him? Gelato still has the coolest moves. Of course Aoi is also an academic genius. Still hitting all those blue tropes.

Right now, Attack on Titan Season 2, Little Witch Academia, and Berserk 2017 are the only anime I've been watching. The quality difference between each of them is kind of surreal.

Speaking of which, is anyone still watching Berserk? The response to these last few episodes has been really minimal.

Did that actually happen? (As in, did Araki's bombastic extravagance actually get toned down; I know he moved up to chief director.) I put that forward as a possibility prior to the season's start but I wasn't really confident that it actually would.

The Eccentric Family S2 E5

1/4 comfy
1/4 romantic
1/4 entertaining
1/4 thrilling and dramatic.

As good as expected.

About Benten
YOU FOOLS this will only serve to deep into her character and maybe have her dere side appear with Yasaburo, improving her even more. ALL HAIL BENTEN

The visuals of this series are lovely. The character design is simplistic, the backgrounds usually fall back too much in touched up photography in exteriors, but with the correct use of color, lightning and cinematographic point, it looks so nice:

Simple character designs are often the best when it comes to animation. Plus the layouts of Eccentric Family tend to be unusually dense for TV anime.

I'm watching it still. Still wish we had a higher quality anime, and still think anyone interested in berserk should just read the manga

Maybe Araki is more focused on Kabaneri S2 so he is more hands off with Titans?

The thing is, Season 3 will need a even more subdued director's hand. It's
darker, more complex, more dialogue-heavy, more about planning and different factions and less about shock & awe with bombastic music on the background with clear-cut villains to defeat with heroic deeds.
So an appropriate change of direction for that one is needed.

I'll watch everything later on.

I sincerely hope 2016 scared off everyone interested in it.

AoT - 31

LOL what a casual way to mention that. I had to rewind and everything. This show is insane. I kinda already had seen it coming due to how they looked and all, but I wasn't expecting for the reveal to happen like this.

Also shout-out to the last 5 minutes, with the destruction and explosion porn happening, it was absolutely bonkers. How many animators are dying weekly to make this show? Someone needs to tell me.

The Eccentric Family S2 E5

Yeah this was a great looking episode in a great looking show but Turin posted most of the good moments already.

One thing I liked is the explanation of how Sensei and the tanuki family knew each other from decades ago, and even helped the parents to get together, it clears up the relationship between the Yasaburo's family and Akadama-sensei, why they take care of him now, etc.

I still watch it. Haven't read any od the manga,so i can't compare the anime to it.

AOT S2 31/30

It's fantastic seeing those turning points o the story getting so beautifully animated and acted. Ido recommend for non manga reader to binge watch season 1 before coming into season 2, just to remember and get attached to the characters again

Uchouten Kazoku - 05

Most has been said already but god damn. This second season is so good.

And the music, the fricking music towards the end. Hell, Benten actually got served gloriously. Hope we get to explore her character some more now.

So far, so good, especally since we still have Sawano Drops and the like.

Re:Creators - 05

So even the government is getting involved in this now. It's funny, because with shows like Fate and such, the servants wreck the entire city, and it's almost as if no one notices or cares that there are explosions and destruction happening all over the place. Japan in this case seems to have taken action immediately, and even finding some sort of correlation between radio wave spikes and these happenings. Seems like the white haired general girl may or may not have been created by the MC? At first I thought it was, hands down, but now I'm not entirely sure. Maybe he had a part in her creation? Maybe not? Who knows.

Akiba's trip 10-END

Ok as soon as I complain that I don't feel like watching the next episode I reach a pretty cool ending streak of episodes. The whole deus ex machina thing was absolutely insane and illogical, but who cares it was really fun. For most of the run I thought that except for Tamotsu's sister the girl side of the cast was pretty meh, but Mayo really went on a uphill rise after the food episode. Probably her cute side showing up helped.

So I would say it's a good start, weak middle and strong finish. It's between a 6 and 7 out of 10.

Obviously she's created by that glasses wearing girl who appears on the very beginning. The main character promised to draw the character for her but kept postponing it until it was too late. The trauma made him unable to draw again. I've only watched the first episode and thus actually have no idea what I'm talking about.

What I actually want to say is: Fate and other shows of its ilk usually handwave city destruction and stuff by saying it all happens in a special magic barrier that repel people away. X even magically fix everything once the barrier is discharged.

Sounds about right lol.

As for the Fate thing is this actually what's happening? I know many other shows that do that and even mention it, but I was under the impression that in Fate's case, it was just a total omission plot-wise. I don't remember anyone ever saying that, but it could just be one of those back-end plot things that Fate loves so much to have, because of deep lore.

To be honest, my memory of Fate is sketchy, but at the very least I'm pretty sure that's what happened when Rider first appeared.

There is something very wrong with the show, but it's got the trainwreck syndrome on its side.

Besides, he did tell her flat out that he only saw her as his little sister and nothing more..... yeahhhhh...

Hmm....

This episode of Eromanga Sensei cranks up the familial romance fetish bait right at the start, bearing a strong warning for those in the audience not here for that. Simply put, if you're not watching to ogle the main character's middle school-age sister while also connecting to his pseudo-brotherly feelings for her, this opening segment will make you supremely uncomfortable.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....

There's just something disingenuous about Masamune emphatically insisting that he'd never have lewd thoughts about his little sister right when the camera starts panning across her cleavage.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.........

Oh wow Amazon prime Canada finally put up all thei missing Sentai shows and added the episodes that were missing for those that were there. Kabukibu, ATOM, Oratoria and Grimoire.

I know what I am watching next.

another thing, is all the anime that is on animestrike available in canada?

Filthy American Piggu Gods 1

Lmao knowing who the cast is from the get go kind of ruins the surprise factor in the novels. But regardless, it's fun to watch. Everything has that noir detective charm. And shadow moon is a damn handsome man. Like Jesus Christ.

This show is a pleasure to watch; farming made fun fir sure.
Don't worry about Pork Bowl buddy, he will be good curry soon enough. I hope they ship those two crazy kids by the end of the show

American Gods ep 2

The Anansi scene alone was fucking amazing. Then the rest of the episode happened. It's everything I wanted out of American Gods made by Fuller. Even the CG doesn't bother me. In 2 episodes it won Anime of the year.

Crunchyroll has the shittest fucking app out there man. Trying to watch db super but it refuses to even load the episodes, this is a constant problem on mobile for me and my brother. Also dont even get me started on their super fucking bad tv app, that shit loads like 5eps at a time so good luck watching something like one piece on it. Bout to just cancel my sub man, getting really sick of their shitty service

Caught up with all of GranBlue Fantasy. Solid show. I love the artstyle and how everything is really spiky. It really scratches the fantasy itch.

I really hate the opening though. It makes me so dizzy. Just non stop panning and fading in and out. It also bugs me that the little dragon just floats up and down. I wish they at least gave him some motion while he floats instead of just moving the drawing up and down. Minor annoyance.

Crunchyrolls Apple TV app is straight up garbage. Not only does it eat shit from a design and UX perspective but its so damn temperamental and unstable. Some days I cant even get episode listings to even load without getting numerous errors.

Weekends night are easily the harshest on their systems. But personally in general I have no problem with their apps. Mobile or console. Of everything I watch I never have any issues. May it be AoT or Boruto or anything else.

I was just about to say that the ATV app was OK, much better than the AndroidTV one. Its one of the reasons I have to still use my ATV rather than my Shield for everything.

I feel like their console apps are the most stable, but those also have usability problems. For example, the X1 app works fine but I hate using it. I havent tried the PS4 apps.

But the problems have gotten worse and worse. Its not a recent thing either, its been like this for damn near a year now.

I'm a week behind on AoT, but so far Season 2 has been mindblowing. It's made so much better without focusing on Eren. Feels like SMT IV: Apocalypse.

Samurai Jack - 7

This felt like an old Samurai Jack episode, then it became an anime and super rushed at the end. At this rate looks like the show won't have a very satisfying run, seems like they needed another few more episodes than the 10 that's going to be produced. We'll see but last few episodes have definitely dropped a bit.

Tiger Mask W - 30

This show is amazing.

Tiger Mask's reputation was shattered and Tiger the Dark's body was shattered, now both fight to fix what was broken. The joke and bro character turns out to be the one who taught THE THIRD how to break their master's body and now there's going to be all out war with NJPW. To top it off we got Fukuwara Mask "The deer hunter doesn't see the mountains" inspires Tiger Mask to a win and it's been a while since a really good inspirational comeback from Tiger Mask with the music and animattion reving me up. This is such a great show, I'm having so much fun watching it.

Stability has not really been an issue for me on the ATV. My ATV complaints are more UX things.

With the AndroidTV app on Shield though I'm forced to frequently manually quit and restart the app as it seems to lose access to all the indexes.

The PS4 app was fine as I recall, but that I find the PS4 too slow to boot (even from sleep mode) and too slow for apps to start. At least compared to the ATV and Shield. Its the reason I use those instead of consoles for streaming. I don't know why thats the case given the PS4 is beefier. I guess Sony really restricts what resources apps can use and that makes it all slow as shit.

Eccentric Family S2 5

This is still excellent for all the reasons people talk about. Heartwarming, hilarious, dramatic, and beautiful.

If the ending is a guide for how things will go, I'm looking forward to the rematch between Benten and Nidaime. Hopefully that'll deliver some more polished action moments.

This subtitle is the equivalent of "ATM Machine" or "Yakisoba Pan Bread"

As an aside, this episode is the first time I've seen Crunchyroll use full lyric subtitles for a show's opening and ending, though I could be overlooking something.
