Square Enix asks fans about if Persona 5/FF15 were out at same time, release hint?

FFXV without a doubt, even though it's not the game everyone originally wanted. It's still got Noctis and Co that were created by Nomura and forever I'm grateful to Nomura. I'm sure Tabata did a great job. I'm positive! I'll get persona 5 whenever it releases which is likely fall months later after the JP release.

Both day 1. Like others have said though, the Persona love around here is astounding. I thought it would be closer to a 50/50.

Square Enix was to win us back. Atlus already captured peoples' hearts and the trailers have been so hype. FFXV also has that weird design by fans thing going which is hurting the game.

5 years ago SE wouldn't care about Persona at all. Now they send a questionnaire like this... lol

Persona 5 is able to make SE tremble and reconsider releasing FFXV, a mainline FF title, close to it. Persona 5 hype is too stronk.

Also I'm starting to think that they aren't that confident in FFXV. Can't blame them, game has looked like a mess in the footage shown so far.

Official gif for FFXV thread if it released the same day as P5 lol

I just CTRL+F'd every page with 'Persona' and almost spat out my drink - has GAF become weeaboo heaven?!

Persona 4 Golden is a legit 5/10, dungeon design is astrocious and the whole edgy anime character shtick is embarrassing. Okay, the UI is hard - but the rest? Y'all get blinded by your affection for 2D anime characters that are as flat as their character portraits. And now you want another one of those basura Social RPGs (can't believe I'm even typing this)?

Pass. Try again. Or better yet: don't.

FFXV originates from the brilliant mind of jeux-auteur Tetsuya Nomura and will not only sell boatloads of PS4s in Japan but start the age of cinematic RPGs paired with both hyperrealismé and masterful game design. Yes, the last demo was lowkey rough around the edges but that's because it's a game that demands everything from the consoles. I prefer avantgarde open-world action-RPG gameplay to linear, turn-based corridor moé bullshit at any time of the day.

Shame on all of you tbh

Man, you missed the entire point of Persona :').

The gameplay and dungeon design isn't what draws people into the series, its the story (the most important element of a RPG in my book) and even then, the gameplay is solid enough to push the story along well.

I get that people hate anime-looking designs on Gaf and I'm sorry you hate them, but Persona 4 is a classic due to its memorable cast, Pokemon-esc demon collecting and a story that is one of my favorites in the genre.

Persona 3's story is my favorite compared to P4G but still, Persona is a great series and many people love it.

I'm still excited about FFXV myself and its one of the reasons I plan on getting a PS4 next year :).

But I have more hope that Persona 5 will be a great game compared to FFXV.

Edit: Wow, I missed the joke entire :(. Sorry about the long post then guys.

As much as I want FINAL FANTASY XV. Persona 5 hands down. Mostly because it is way more traditional. Also hyped for the story and setting way more then XV.

Is it weird that Square Enix polls their fans for a lot of things? I'm thinking back to the "Do you want moogles in FFXV" thing. Like, if you want moogles in your game, just put them in. Most people were going to say yes to the poll as moogles are a FF staple and don't detract from the game in any way. Square, you're a developer/publisher. It's good to get fan-feedback, but you need to make your own decisions.

But I would prefer FFXV, for what it's worth.

Watched trailers for both.

Its not even close.

Persona 5 please.

Delay the frat bros car trip as long as you want. If its as bad a set of characters as they have shown so far, maybe consider rewriting it. Just a thought. Maybe make Cyd a guy and put a few women in the car as playable characters. Consider redoing the guys so they stop looking like dudes who look at themselves in the mirror all day. I just have yet to feel like they are characters I would like to spend time learning about or exploring with. Persona characters are exactly the opposite.

meanwhile in the ffxiv community

Ahaha, yeah. The FFXIV players aren't the happiest campers right now, thanks to the disastrous endgame.

Given the choice between Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV... I'd buy both, but Persona 5 would be played first. :S

Thank you.

Both.

Besides, Persona won't be a global release anyway. A summer release for Persona 5 in Japan would be a fall/winter release for the west.

FFXV would actually be a global release.

I liked Persona 3 at the beginning but then the difficulty spiked and I didn't feel like grinding to get what I needed, but I actually really enjoyed Lightning Returns, so I have to go with Final Fantasy XV.

That gif is so awesome!

Between FFXV and P5, I'm more hyped for P5bat the moment, but that's because I'm just keeping my expectations down so FFXV can blow my mind when I play it.

Persona 5

wow waking up and seeing all the persona post in the thread sure is something

that's how you do it

Persona 5, no contest.
P1-4 were awesome, but FF had many bad games in recent memory.
Plus, the demo of XV was the most boring thing I played all year.

Persona 5. I'd Pick up FFXV a few months later, most likely on sale too. I don't have time for two massive JRPG time sinks.

It's kind of hilarious that the franchise has been so damaged that they need to even ask if fans would buy Persona over the next numbered entry. In the past, it would have steamrolled everything and Persona would have had to move.
