It is very likely that some major changes were made... I mean the game looked 70-80% done last year, last time I checked that final 20 % or so shouldn't take more then 4-5 months especially with there staff so huge. I gotta say I'm kind of glad for the wait though, it's been 4 years since any sort of real FF game has come out and you could almost say I miss it, so when this finally comes out it'll be a nice refreshing game for me.

The FFXI-like battle system was the game's biggest draw, to me, and I would hate for it to go and have the series return to the old ATB. Had the game been announced to use ATB from the start I would not have been miffed...but after having a glimpse at the series' evolution with the trailers, going back to the old battle system would be like a major step backward to appease a bunch of 4-bit game-design loving twats...I dunno...the game looks great and the reason for the delay that I'm hoping for is the addition of a full DVD-layer's worth of extra content. One can dream =)Pachinko said:With any luck the reason for FFXII's delays is becuase they realized changing the battle system from an ATB derivitave to a very american style KOTOR ish battle system was a very poor decision.

A honourable japanese company would never develop for a western machine. They still remember Nagasaki!
Doom_Bringer said::lol, they got Sakaguchi and a few other big names.
duckroll said:Sakaguchi isn't really Japanese anymore, he's lived in Hawaii for far too long. Okamoto is obviously pulling his old tricks again by telling MS they're developing a XBOX360 game while actually working on a PS3 title with their team. Mizuguchi is just a traitor, he will be punished. :lol

Let's not all forget so easily now that Square Enix has already announced a Secret of Mana for DS, and that Brownie Brown (owned by Nintendo) was recently hiring for a new 3D Mana project.
The time of assuming Sony as the platform for Square Enix projects is over.... well, atleast when it comes to Mana games now that Nintendo owns Brownie Brown (y'know, the majority of the team that created the originals we all know and love).
