Square Enix delays Forspoken to October 11

Am i alone in thinking this looks like a tech demo they turned into an empty game and decided to sell it for 110 euros (deluxe edition)?
Like...i want to like this...i swear i do but it does nothing for me so far.
Its FFXV. Same team, same engine, very similar looking world, similar looking spells. Made it more interactive and fleshed out the movement. Hired western writers for the story.

Was there a demo or something I missed? Are the 20fps comments about the trailers?

Also what platform is everyone playing Elden Ring on where they're getting 20fps? I'm on current gen and it plays well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyone else think that you just kinda summed up Square's games these days? They feel like glorified tech demos in a way. Gorgeous but lacking in gameplay and especially lacking in good dialogue.

I liked ff7's adaptation of the combat but I can't get passed the stilted and anime dialogue as well as archaic mission design. Ff15 I liked more than remake but people seem to hate that game now.
Wait...someone else that preferred FFXV to FFVIIR besides me? :messenger_fistbump:

Keep in mind i played the complete edition of FFXV + Royal Edition DLCs + watched the anime + CGI movie so the entire package was to me an amazing experience and i loved everything about it. It's one of those "this is an incredibly flawed but addictive and fun game". I have the Platinum for the damn thing, lol.

Everyone else that quoted me, i had a feeling this was the FFXV team. It looks like it too...except there's no strong group of main characters, no road trip and everything that worked for FFXV in my opinion. All i see is an empty desert and pretty spells. They saw what actually worked for FFXV and removed it.
I'm sure the script will be a lot more well laid out on Forspoken though. I remember that team did the impossible by developing the game with an engine. Didn't they even switched engine halfway through production?

Five months ain't shit so I still fully expect this to bomba at launch.

A shame because it the concept itself and general gameplay mechanics seem promising. It's just that the technical side of things and some of the other design decisions are half-assed.
Needs better art style.

I think they've seen Horizon 2 and Elden Ring and thought it would be better to wait until people forget them, if not, probably people would have demolished Forspoken.
Could be but I don't think it matters…..

In the fall God of War Ragnok, Starfield, COD 2022 plus all the other fall games will be dropping so unless it's a amazing game it will still get lost in the crowd.

This year is just packed but I think it was smart to push it back to polish the game more.

Everytime I see this game it reminds me of those games like the order 1886, they look and play like extended tech demos I think both Xbox and Sony had a lot of these games with the 360 and ps3 especially.
There's just something really uninspired and dull about them, the world looked so empty too it just doesn't look exciting at all ( and that performance oof ).

Why is anyone actually excited about this I can't understand it.
Even for a generic open world adventure game it looks and feels so lifeless.

( Also please ffs YOUR CHARACTERS DON'T HAVE TO FUCKING TALK CONSTANTLY PLEASE JUST STFU ).

It's one of those early launch games like The Bouncer or Genji that is made to just show off the graphics, but you forget it even existed by the end of the generation.

I think we should at least give square some credit, they are doing lots of new ips. I hope it is worthwhile for them so they continue to take these risks

Ok you are right! They are making new IPs and that in my book is a good thing but their management is a mess. Square Enix lacks focus! It's not something new but it seems to be getting worse!

- They need to make the character muter when traversing the world. UGH HUH UGH.
- Performance mode option (all we have seen is 30fps)
- Lower the wokeness?
EDIT: Removed the spoilers

I mean, call me crazy, but that looks fine and pretty interesting to me.

It lacks interactions with the environment, so the combat just resolves around spawning magic spells, of course that is fine but a "Serious Sam with magic" should at least run at 60FPS.

How about they have 50% less IPs with 50% more quality in each. Throwing shit to see what sticks is not the best strategy.

No need to spoiler it. Game journo twitter tricked the fools at SE into thinking people actually like this shit.

It's because they need time add a secret ending where these guys ask for her help to kill Chaos

People say stuff like this but im playing elden ring for 70+ hours and i haven't done anything in the enviornment but kill things

And it doesn't run at a stable 60fps either

But this game is all about female empowerment. Surely will remember it, right?

Why would anyone not understand people being hyped for the game?

We know almost nothing about it so theres plenty of chances the game might surprise us.

Ff XV was a bad FF but had some charm that made it a fun ride.

This looks like a steo in the same direction, and personally, i for sure will love this mc a looot more than the brodude gang.

Never trust the first release date bro
i just dont get why those fake release sates are given out in the first place. They lie every single fucking time. There has to be an idustry term for it, like "we are announcing our soft date during this financial quarter to get pre order funds, then we will announce the hard date at the start of whatever corner"

It is when it is spelled correctly (forespoken). Every time I see the title of this game, that missing "e" bothers me.

lol i didnt even realize it didnt have the E. Ive been spelling it with an E this entire time...now i think its going to annoy me everytime i see it as well.

Maybe they just come up with it without even asking the devs. Who knows. Anyway this is square enix, so anything under a ten year dev time is good going for them.
