Square Enix teasing their E3 booth

Wonder when they'll tell us little peons about their news tomorrow.

Also I would like just a little tease of Versus. Like 5 seconds that's all I ask. That's all I ask. A blurry screenshot, I don't care. Just something to restore some hope in the fans. I know we are only two and a half weeks away but man this wait is killer. We've patiently waited for 2 1/2 years I don't think a 5 second teaser trailer or a blurry screenshot is asking too much.

Edit: What I meant was that its been 2 1/2 years since we've gotten anything on this game. Naturally I have been waiting since May 8th, 2006 for the game. 7 long years.

I'm getting an hour and 33 minutes.

I live an hour behind Japan's time so I guess it makes sense.

Nothing happens at the end guys. Go home.

I am starting to think mine is the right countdown since mine is the longest ;P.

Edit:

I don't know everyone in different timezone is getting different counts, so I guess it depends on your timezone

I don't know. It doesn't make much sense. I think they coded the countdown wrong.

Edit 2:

I know what it's doing now. It's counting down to 4pm in each timezone. Which is.... strange. Does that mean anything to anyone else?

Erm...so moving on. I thought this was interesting.

About what Kagari said on third parties expecting next gen consoles to be announced last year. I was taking a look at this interview from March of last year with SE's Julien Merceron and he was discussing Agni. This is what he said:

“Well, around June next year, there will indeed be something different around Agni’s Philosophy, which will perhaps be presented on platforms that are different from the ones being used so far. I can’t tell you more, I can only say that it’s not going to be only on PC.”

June of next year = E3 2013. So they were planning on revealing "something different" on Agni at E3 of this year back in the early part of last year, which most likely translates into a game they're developing with Luminous, so I'm not sure if the whole "they were going to show something at Sony's conference but it got pulled" rumor is true. It seems like they had a date set the whole time.

Earlier in the interview he talks about Versus and just says it's underway, its ambition is making it complex to realize, but Wada was still pushing the team and project as far as possible, blah blah.

Edit: Sorry, not early part of last year, this interview was from November.

There's a chance that Versus XIII will only use a part of the Luminous Engine and part of the Crystal Tools since well, they started it on Crystal Tools unless they totally scrapped it and moved on to Luminous Engine.

I fully expect the FF after FFXV(ersus) to use Luminous Engine now.

Yes there's no reason to continue with Crystal Tools for next gen.

Well they did show the tech demo again at the PS4 reveal. Maybe that was just a reminder of it until E3?

That's what I figure.

If the next FF were to have graphics and quality similar to Agni's Philosophy in terms of gameplay, then I wonder how the CGI will look like. :T

Is Agni's Philosophy's "gameplay" graphics comparable to Final Fantasy: Spirits Within?

So we deserve this?
yes because you haven't given up hopes on ff.

once you will do it than you won't deserve it anymore but you will be happier and indifferent from all square-enix mistakes.
And when one ff will be good again (for mistake from square-enix probably lol) you will be as happy as once, meanwhile but you won't suffer for their miserable failings with toryiama\watanabe san.

lol

It's tough though. I have been buying their products for 20 years...

Also worth mentioning, Theatrythym's producer still called Versus "Versus XIII" and also mentioned it was still part of FNC (for people speculating/wanting them to cut any FNC stuff from the game). This was back in July last year.

How did you get the Final Fantasy Versus XIII song "Somnus" available as downloadable content? It must have been tough since the game, although it was announced six years ago, hasn’t come out yet.

Ichiro Hazama, Producer: A fan like yourself, who have heard the song before would be pleasantly surprised with a Versus XIII tune in the game. The music was announced earlier [through a trailer] and many people have heard the song already. It wasn’t anything too secretive.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is commemorated as a 25th anniversary title, so we wanted to be a little bit playful by adding this song. When we asked Nomura-san he casually approved it saying, "let’s do it" and that’s how we got it in.

Yeah, while this is a 25th anniversary title, there aren’t any songs in for Final Fantasy XIV, which is available for PCs, or spinoff titles like Final Fantasy USA (aka Final Fantasy Mystic Quest in Japan).

When you look up the collection of music in Theatrhythm, songs were collected from the mainstream Final Fantasy titles. We didn’t use spinoffs or anything like that and because of that USA was not included. Versus XIII is part of Fabula Nova Crystallis, the Final Fantasy XIII family, and we put music from every single game in that series into Theatrhythm.

In terms of Final Fantasy XIV, I personally thought that they were not ready to be incorporated into it. This was just my opinion, but they are changing the game. Maybe in the future, when they are ready, we may add songs from XIV.

Nomura also still called the game "Versus" when he said new info would be revealed just recently. Could've still been renamed but eh, not entirely the impression they're providing from these interview.

Announcing the new, Final Fantasy: Versus. Now, a fighting game.

Would just be even more confusing if they start calling it by a different name. They would still refer to it as "Versus XIII" until its name has been officially announced to be something else

What else can they call it? They can't call it FFXV without it being properly revealed. They can't call in "the next Final Fantasy" because it's a dead giveaway that it's FFXV, calling it only "Final Fantasy" will be too generic and confusing.

They're using "Versus" as a nickname to some sort.

If they were going to do a big unveil he couldn't just call it something else at before the time of announcement because that would just give it away. I'm sure it would break all type of NDA's they have going.

Since they haven't talked about it in forever, but they've said the project is still going the game is still called Versus 13.
