Yeah, but again, that's the same models and textures, just better resolution and much smoother. Same graphics, just processed better. Xbox360 will process it even better than high-end PC's (at least at launch).

It's just not an actual improvement past the hardware processing.

There really isn't much else you could really improve from the High-end PC version when I think about it.

The FFXI demo was before Wada got on the stage.

It looked almost exactly like the version I play on my PC (which means it was probabaly just taken from a bit higher end PC)

Or so we've been told. Just imagine if you could actually OWN property in the game and build a house. A house where you can invite people over in the game. Thats what i wanted so much in FFXI but never got. They give you this home but all its good for is holding crap. Having a place like that would be awsome.

Yeah that's what I was talking about. That tech demo looked excellent on that shitty stream. I really want to see some high res pics. This is where MS is dropping the ball. Not having high-res pics and movies of their stuff.

That third picture there is from FFXI.

Looked the same when I saw the scene on my PC. You didn't see it cause it's from the COP expansion (you should see the COP zones, breath taking).

Yeah, that's something I wanted to. Towards the end of my playing, I started to furnish my house somewhat, but it would be nice to have been able to have others over, expand, ect.

Sadly, since Ultima Online, housing in MMO's has been a complete wash. UO did it so, so damn well..

Hell, FFXI had this nice kind of mog house decoration system (sim-ish) but you were the only one who ever saw your house, so it was basically pointless.

The tech demo was purely to show that FFXI wont be the only role-player that Square do for Xbox360, and that 360 can do better graphics than FFXI is what I'm thinking. It was just a bunch of 3D environments - no story-telling or characters.

Can't believe that FFXII or XIII wasn't mentioned - or Dragon Warrior. Maybe the details of what they'll put on X360 haven't been finalised at this stage.

Nice. But seriously, I haven't been amazed by any *screens* of games so far. Diminishing returns indeed. I think the difference is that with the PSX/Saturn/N64 generation, games just flat out looked like shit, for the most part. With the DC and the other consoles of this gen though, graphics reached a level at which most games are good enough technically that they won't age as badly as those from the previous generation. They'll always look tolerable.

In motion it's another story....the Killzone vid, and the NBA2K6 vid are both amazing, screens just don't do them justice.

That tech demo SE did for the Xbox 360 was unimpressive to say the least. It seemed like they just beefed up the FFXI engine a little bit and used it to show some pretty town near an ocean. It clearly paled in comparison to the FFVII tech demo on PS3, though not that comparing the two tech demos is indicitive of the power of the two consoles. Why they did such a weak tech demo though is beyond me. Maybe it was a rush job.
