She was a hell of a lot more likable than Neelix or fucking Harry Kim. I enjoyed the episodes where her and the Doctor interacted. I liked how they hinted that he had feelings for her, and that's something that could have been added to.

Yeah, I found Neelix enjoyable most of the times (though did find him the most annoying at times too). Harry Kim was the most boring to me, but he made essentially a side-kick character to Paris, which I did find enjoyable. Would say that being the most boring character is much better then being a character that I can't remember.
I thought The Doctor & 7 of 9 to be the most interesting characters,
Hopefully they would refer to her as the "Orange Is The New Black" actress at this point.

IIRC, the show's executives made a "short list" of people to fire (to make room for Seven of Nine), and Harry and Kes (along with a couple other B-listers) were on it.
Then Harry got mentioned in the magazine article, and the guys in charge said "Wow, somebody out there actually likes Harry Kim? Okay. Kick him off the firing list then, because if somebody somewhere likes him, then he obviously doesn't belong on a list with the rest of these losers."
Basically, Harry wasn't fired yet, and his "get out of firing free" card only increased the odds of Kes getting fired, it didn't make Kes get fired.
Even if you're the gayest of the gay (All Hail!), I'm not sure how exposing your breasts would accomplish anything in an argument. Sure, your ass is a cultural thing, but i'm not sure that should be punishable.
