What's that giant black thing? Maybe I'm looking at it wrong...It would make sense to be Vader's helmet, but I can't see it.

Also: This poster looks like crap.

Oh, shit. I see it now. It's coming from his cape! I feel dumb...

Its his cape, making a pattern that looks like darth vader's mask.

Harr harr, I beat ye to it.

That's such a horrible background. I'm sure they could some up with something better than an orange to yellow gradient. You know the poster should have been? Yoda on the john! Man that'd be great, right Lucas?

dude, i think that might be darth vader.. !!
Holy shit! For reals?!

Meh. I don't like it. They've done the whole Vader/Anakin thing so much better in earlier posters. That Episode I teaser poster with the Vader shadow was so awesome.

I think it's awesome. Way better then the one metsallica just posted.
I'm with you. I'm so glad that crappy thing isn't real or being used, whatever the case may be.

The Episode I teaser poster was amazing and really cool, but I think this one is cool too. I can't wait to see Hayden go fucking crazy.

I like that second one better

EDIT: Anakin's anime scar just gays up the 1st poster even more. I know the PT has sucked so far but no need to confirm Ep.3's crappiness so early.

Personally, I wish this was the teaser poster:

with a cleaned up reflection and better framing.
Yeah, and maybe a reflection that doesn't magically ignore 50% of his body.

That poster is hideous. I could fart a better promo image. Technically, this shouldn't pass a student in an illustration class.

Yes, my farts come out as images. It's amazing.

ive got really good feeling about this.

and the end fight is going to rock regardless of the rest of movie anyway :P

Yeah I've got a cautious optimism for this one, (especially the more I read on it; some of these sequences sound amazing) but people have already made up their minds about whether they're gonna like it or not.

I dunno; *shrug* every time I've seen a new SW movie, I've enjoyed the experience, even with the crap-fest that was Menace. There's just something about sitting in that theater, feeling the synergy of the entire room, knowing that you're gonna read those familiar words, but see something brand new.

It's kinda bittersweet that this'll be the last time for that...

Bleh, I think that poster is ugly. It lacks any kind of subtlety.

Also it makes him look like a hunchback with the worst hump ever. Seriously, look how high above his head that cape is billowing. Unless he is falling down a mineshaft or something it should not look like that.

Edit: I approve of the scar though.

I agree. It looks too forced. It would be much better if they panned out more and you could see the whole cape. The mask image could be done with shadows. That thing looks like they drew the mask first and just added the cape and his head.

Of course I'd love for Episode III to rock hard, but I just can't get worked up over it.

After all the hype for Episode I, I almost felt like someone had punched me in the stomach after I walked out of it.

Episode II was even goofier because it tried even harder but came across even more grating. I think Natalie Portman had more chemistry with that little kid than she did with Hayden (not surprised with pick up lines like the whole "sand is coarse" schlock, lol).

It's ass. Should've gone for something a little bit more subtle. I guess kiddies will find it cool, though.

shouldn't the prequels be much darker in tone then episodes IV, V, and VI? i mean, their about the origin and creation of darth vader! the baddest mofo in all of the galaxies! episode II should have left much more of an overwhelming sense of "it's about to hit the fan" when it ended.

i'm not one to bitch and moan about the prequels (although episode I did suck, but i found episode II enjoyable in a "popcorn flick" kind of way), but they could of handled anakins development and path down the darkside much better. go more in detail and spread it out over the three movies... instead we go from him being a happy child to a whiny adolscent. the sad thing is, the material was there for some really good character development and storytelling.
