Maris Brood was left hanging, and the fight with Vader was awful. Vader does nothing but stands in place and calls forth dude to fight you pretty much with a random swing everyone once in a while. He also just lifts his saber to block randomly. In TFU1 they had scripted lightsaber sequences even that triggered to make the fights look more dynamic at least. The fights all around were much more fun boss wise.

The clone angle could have been played up more with clones with lightsabers and of course
the perfect sith clone Vader apparently has sitting in the wings should have made an appearance
.

The first game also brought on saber fights using proxy, something similar could have been done. Even so it's not so much an issue of lightsaber duels as much as the boss fights just sucked balls. Random big things you fight, which are all just pattern memory fights.

Oh I didn't say the Vader fight was good, I was just curious who else people wanted Starkiller to go after as there is a dearth of 'saber wielders in the timeframe of the 2nd game.

If they do get around to a third game, I'm curious which ending will be canon and how they will handle/address
the perfect clone that kills you in the dark side ending
. I'm pretty much expecting them to go the route that the Starkiller you played as in the 2nd half of TFU1 was a clone as well and the original is either truly dead or locked up somewhere after Vader literally stabbed him in the back and threw him into space.

The light side ending is the one in continuity, it's what is in the novelization, as well as in the graphic novel tie in.

The dark side one though would have been perfect for a followup game with some fresh new ground to play on.

Ok, I didn't read the book or graphic novel for this game.
I do agree though, the dark side ending would make for a much more interesting sequel and it'd be refreshing to have a character who isn't
redeemed at the end. He can stay a Sith clone and they can wrap the trilogy up with his death at the hands of Kota or something along those lines
.

Just so everybody knows, the PC version appears to have a game-breaking bug just before the Fusion Reactor cannon on the rebel ship that can be bypassed only if you know about it beforehand; to whit, one of the batteries you have to pull out of the cannons to get past a door is un-targetable and un-removable. Bring an extra battery

Uh, I played through that segment just fine without doing that? On PC.

Is anyone else having timing issues with the first challenge? The last combo, the square square square square *pause* square square square square one? I can't get the pause right for some reason. I can get to the combo quickly but then I waste the rest of my time trying different timing options.

So it seems all the reviews are saying the Wii version is the best of the bunch and the one worth playing.

Any impressions here?

Yeah that one was a pain in the ass for me, you have pause for about a second between combos and I'm pretty certain there's a visual cue as well. The comments for the video are actually helpful here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r14KmSObqu4

Just beat the game and I have to say it left me with an empty feeling. If you're intersted, I wrote a review of the game on my blog.

First off there isn't nearly as many locales as in the first one. One of the things I enjoyed about TFU1 is that there was a feeling of variety in the locales so when they repeated towards the end, you didn't mind as much.

Then as many have already pointed out, the game is way too short...about half the length of the first game. It would be a different story if the gameplay variety was there but it simply wasn't. Games like Batman Arkham Asylum and Uncharted 2 have raised the bar of what we expect from third person character action games and this one just doesn' live up to its potential.

To add insult to injury, the Darth Vader fight was way too long and was a one trick pony, forcing you to do the same thing over and over.

That's just the thing too, this series has so much potential! The game play really is a blast and if only they were able to have more set pieces and variety in level design and locations, it could have been great. As awesome as the game play was though, they failed to make an awesome game around it.

If you are interested in this game, I say rent or wait for a price drop. Not sure if it's worth $60. Heavenly Sword on PS3 was similar and length to this game and TFU2 wasn't nearly as complete of an experience as that game was.

To cap things off, they don't even
outright tell you whether or not he's a fucking clone or not...really that was the whole point to this story!
Not only that, but the game ends in the middle of a plot point. WTF?

How awesome would it have been if you
saw the trial of Darth Vader and he somehow gets loose and wreaks havoc. Then the game can be similar to the first one with you hunting Sith instead of Jedi. You could have had Darth finding Maris Brood and making her his new apprentice, which would have been an interesting plot point IMO.
Is it really that hard to write an interesting Star Wars tale? Yeesh.

I still like "Star killer" as a character and still think the series has potential, but you have to give us more than this.

Cheese on a cracker these challenges are annoying.

Oh and the game's campaign felt like "oh shit... we're making a sequel? uhhh...yeahhh...uhh...here you go... here's some characters you know... ITS STAR WARS GODDAMNIT NO QUESTIONSsrhght*death rattle*"

The Dagobah challenge that came with the Amazon game is the hardest, I think. You have to cross a chasm full of poison gas and floating rocks. The rocks can be lifted above the gas, but to do so requires fine-point use of force powers which, as anyone who's played the game can tell you, there are no fine-point controls. Hair-pulling.

I finally beat the first challenge. I got to the last combo with almost 56 second and wasted 20 trying to get that timing down. I still don't know what I did different, but it finally worked. Speaking of that first challenge, did no one playtest it and realize that if you are fighting a stationary bot there's no real way to get the X Square Square combo working because you jump first?

Pretty much. The first game seemed to be a development disaster with it being delayed almost an entire year to port it and create the different versions not originally planned when the game was almost done for PS3/360. The merchandising for the product was all done even and much of it was being released a year before hand. Then they let go much of the games dev staff but then when released it does over 5.7 mil (apparently it's done over 7 mil now with rereleases), the game was a hit.

The game sold well and they scrambled to slap together a quick sequel... it shows with how lame the story is put together and the lack of any content.

That's why on the first challenge you don't even engage the droid and run around the outer circle of the level to do the combos.

Anyone playing on PC have a problem with the game crashing and screen turning black?

And christ, the tearing. No vsync? Really?

The first challenge is super easy except the ending

XXXX XXXX

I don't really know how to do it. I basically just get lucky.

That one and the Holocron Retrieval one are the only two I haven't finished. UGH! So annoying.

I waited to do the "throw Vader's ship at the thing" trophy until I had grip entirely maxed and now all I have to do it push R2 and it disintegrates before I can throw it. I'm going to have to start a new save to do this, aren't I?

I completed all of the challenges. Some were fun, others were just annoying. Anyone that has the game for PS3 want the pre order bonus for the challenge rooms?

I'd rather give it to a fan of the game, so if you don't care for the game, please let someone that genuinely likes the game ask for it. PM me and i'll give it to whoever wants it.

:)

Just because the events of the light side ending are canon doesn't mean
the Perfect Apprentice isn't canon. He only kills Imperfect Apprentice when it becomes clear IA is going to kill Vader. PA is still there in the light side ending, he just doesn't act because Vader isn't in danger. This is all part of Vader's plan, hence Boba Fett waiting in the debris field to follow.

Didn't say that the PA isn't there, I assume he will make an appearance in TFU3 if it ever happens. But the light side ending is the continuity ending.

So is anyone genuinely enjoying this game? Seems like every one is pretty much disappointed with it.

First half of the game seemed interesting and was like "this is going to be a fun game", but it all goes downhill from there. They improved the visuals and made some gameplay tweaks, but pretty much it was worse in every other way than TFU1. And I thought TFU1 was a low B to C quality game... but as already said I think TFU2 has made me appreciate TFU1 so much more.

I'm just gonna state that PA should be called DA.

So I picked this up today and am having a blast. One question though, did anyone reach a glitch while fighting the Terror Walker where even if you have all the fuses in there spots his shield never goes down?

IGN First DLC details.

Starkiller returns in the first piece of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 DLC, and IGN has the exclusive announcement and first screenshots. To get the details on this latest addition, we sent over a few questions to LucasArts. They were answered by Gio Corsi, an Executive Producer at LucasArts Singapore.

IGN:The DLC takes place on Endor. Does this mean it is during Return of the Jedi? Will we be killing Ewoks?

Gio Corsi: It does indeed take place on the forest moon of Endor during the time of Return of the Jedi. However, we like to call this an "infinite storyline", much like the Hoth Bonus Mission from the first Force Unleashed game that gave us an alternate take on that iconic battle from the Empire Strikes Back. As Gamers and fans of the Star Wars universe, the infinite storyline allows us a "what if" moment that scratches an itch by rolling the dice with established Star Wars characters or scenarios. It's a pretty sweet opportunity. And yes, there will be battles with Ewoks!

IGN: Is this the first of many add-ons players can expect for TFU2? Where else might we be going as the evil Starkiller?

Gio Corsi: Who knows where the infinite storyline can take Starkiller, there are so many possibilities but right now we are focusing on the Endor Bonus Mission.

IGN: Will the DLC add new achievements and trophies?

Gio Corsi: Absolutely, there are a number of new achievements and trophies. One of the team's favorite is the "Sith Kicker Achievement" but I'll let you figure that one out for yourselves.

IGN: About how long can people expect the DLC to take them to play through? Also, do we get to use our leveled up character from the campaign?

Gio Corsi: The Endor Bonus Mission is comparable in length to the add-ons from the first game. As for the character itself, we leveled Starkiller differently for the DLC since this adventure falls into the "infinite universe." He does have the same abilities as he did in TFU2 which allows Starkiller to start kicking ass right from the get go.

IGN: Why does the DLC always assume players picked the Dark Side ending? Does this mean the light side ending to TFU2 is considered canon?

LucasArts: To be honest, we just thought it was a really cool avenue to explore. Take this bad ass Jedi, make him a true Sith and throw him into an established adventure and watch the sparks fly. It's going to be epic!

I didn't think it was worth a new thread.

More what if crap. I would have liked them try to add some more meat or continue the actual game. And comparing it to the DLC of the first game is not a good way to sell your dlc. What a waste.

So I'm guessing in the DLC:

Fight Chewie in an AT-ST
Fight Han and Leia
Maybe kill some scout troopers on bikes
Stomp Ewoks
End by killing Luke

Weren't previous DLC packs less than an hour in length?

With DLC like RDR's Undead Nightmare that takes 6 hours to beat, 45 minute DLC packs don't cut it anymore, especially considering how short the game was.

That's actually a pretty cool move/strategy I think. I could see alot of people buying it for that alone. Even people who don't have the game yet and who are waiting for a better price will probably get this just to have this in their download history for later (this is what I'll be doing) especially if this is a "limited time" price point(which also would be a good strategy and would probably make the most money for them in the long run- if a die hard nerd wants it later he can still get it but maybe for $5 or something). Yea, we are funding TFU3 guys.:D

Assume it's limited. When they announced the DLC on facebook it was basically hundreds of posts of people bitching out LA for the short game and it being a rip off, couple hours later.... "IT'S ONLY A DOLLAR!"

They should make it free or just make it permanent $1 and try to entice people to buy the game since the word of mouth has been so bad.

Just beat it on Unleashed.
Holy hell is this game easier on Unleashed than the first game. No comparison.

Now someone tell me how in the hell to do the XXXX XXXX combo.

Need 'dem points.

Huh?

Press XXXX wait like 1second or 2 and then mash XXXX again.

Odd question: can someone who has the collector's edition PM me about the USB key? Mine was wiped by my son who removed it from the drive while it was being accessed and I'd like to finish looking at the stuff on it. Just a zip file of the contents or something? Thanks.

Ok. There were numerous times when I almost killed myself because the game reached almost Medal of Honor 2010 levels of tediousness due to repetition...

Did we play the same game?
I seem to remember playing each level twice, with only slight enemy variations each pass through.

rose colored glasses? :) I'm comparing the two games so yeah, it was less repetitive than #2. Instead of just wave after wave of storm troopers there were different enemies in each level.

I bought this game over the weekend and was disappointed at how short it was overall, and how boring and repetitive the last boss battle was.
