So have they said when the patch is coming?
I don't think there's any set date, the best we have is a timeframe during/after this weekend.
So have they said when the patch is coming?
This game is way too damn good.
Here's my storage bunker:
Here's my band "Divide by Zero" playing our one hit song: "Canon in D":
It's called climbing rope - some fibre and some iron bars. 1 time use, so not worth it really. Is there any way to get a grappling hook like in terraria?
It's so weird playing this game and trying to mine without being able to stick to walls.
I found a tiny robot house guarded by two robots and found a guitar inside. And proceeded to jam after stealing it(literally it plays a song). This game is great.
You can download .abc files (thefatlute.eu is a good place to look) and put them in the songs folder to play custom tracks. One of their "Random Weekend Projects" one of their programmers implemented.

The hair mods I have so far. Not sure that these work 100% since I haven't been able to test each of them with various head gear in the game. You can choose them in the character creation screen and they seem to work fine in game.
Knowing that I am not long for this existence, I beam away from the last planet I will explore, and leave behind artifacts in the hopes that they can help some future explorer:
Awesome, you can travel together? What happens with you personal ship? Does it follow you?
I spent a good 2-3 hours downloading ABC songs from fatlute and abclotro and checking them, renaming them for clarity (why do they have such short names?), deleting the ones that weren't recognizable and such. There's some awesome stuff there. When I'm done, I'll make a bundle with them and upload them so that people can just unzip it to their /songs folder.
It's so crazy to think about it, it's an AMAZING feature. I want it in all my multiplayer games, especially GW2.
OKAY, so I finally got a chance to play this game today, for about eight hours? Yeah, that's eight hours straight by the way...
Starbound is damn fun. I'm not even off of my starting planet yet. Took me forever to walk all the way around it, either my starting planet is just huge or these are very big maps. Had a few neat encounters on the surface: two different merchants, three bandit camps, and a huge temple with gun toting avians. Also found some sewage treasure room, didn't realize that the, lol. Also dug down a good ways, tunneled into a huge empty cavern with a sand floor and pixel canisters all over the place.green goo on the floor was poisonous
So I died a lot, mined a lot, collected a lot of nice booty and treasure, and I'm not even off of my Level 1 starter planet.
This game is going to eat up all of my free time, I can just see it now...
at which point should i try and call the distress beacon? i know i'll have to fight a ufo when i did use it
i've left my starting planet, and pressed random until i found a threat level 2 planet
i'm using littletooth and basic shield, i also have iron hunting bow
my armors are the snow infantry set
thinking of leaving this planet to try out some random threat level 3 planet
still haven't found any tech, pet, legendary
not sure if it's because i never fully check all the caves that i come accross
generally if a cave goes too far down below i'll just skip it
halp a noob ; ;
Penguins aint shit

This is pretty awesome with the nylon guitar.OK, this rendition of FF6's Aria di Mezzo Carattere (AKA Celes' main part in the opera) is some next-level shit:

Simply drop the file in your assets/songs folder and restart the game.
If you guys want this techgo to this coordinates.Targeted Blinkcourtesy from AeonSaber. The location was tested on 3 servers with same results.X: 3187291 Y: -98760113 the gamma psi vel 314 system, III c, jungle threat level 25. Move to the Right. Check this images http://imgur.com/a/zWVsD
I heard this tech is kinda op in terms of movement![]()
OK, that is some amazing god tier stuff. Not only do I love them, if you hadn't told me I would have thought they were in the game all along. When you have a bunch of them, I think it might be worth a shot sending them to the developers for official inclusion, if you want. In the meantime, inclusion of your latest bundle in the OP is a must, I think.
I've found my true calling in Starbound. I'll be following around people who engage in boss battles, spamming this with my electric guitar.

Hair and beard mod for the apex ladies!
Okay, I'm out for the night (morning?)
Thanks a lot! I've done a few more, but I'll probably wait until I get some human/avian/apex ones to update it.
Also, I decided to try my hand at armor creation. This is pretty much just a skin for the base kimono armor that you can choose for hylotl (it has the same stats and I've made it so it can be chosen at the start). It looks more like a traditional kimono and has the skirt part open rather than stay closed.n
Are you posting these on the Starbound forum/Reddit? CF definitely checks them frequently, I think your work is great and I'm sure a lot would like to see it implemented in game.

Right now, those kinds of changes won't show up for anyone else because you're changing your local files, or using local graphics. I think the effects will still stay, like if you changed mining speed of something, but if you changed the color it would only change for you. In the future, I believe they're planning on some way to download content from a server, such as how Valve games do it. That way, the server owner can put in mods/graphics/etc and everyone on that server will be able to use them.IF you mod something does it appear in other peoples games or does it need to be installed by everyone?
Like, if I changed my Beam colour to blue would people see it as red or blue? Or if I added a hairstyle? Would they see whatever it replaced (if it replaced one) or the default?
This is a very unrealistic assumption to make, considering what the update is changing. I suppose it doesn't hurt to stash your stuff, but you should expect everything to get wiped. Some time tomorrow, maybe later, a large update will completely change planet levels, enemy levels and how weapons deal damage, no more about penetration, and will result in characters being wiped. The assumption is though that the universe well stay intact so if you put all your stuff on a planet and write down its location it well be there for your new character post patch/wipe.
Is this same as the actual grappling hook they were working on?It's called climbing rope - some fibre and some iron bars. 1 time use, so not worth it really.
My home (still progress) which hopefully won't be gone tomorrow but probably will
That would be awesome! I downloaded some from the lotro site, there are some that crash the game and the filenames are all a mess. A nice neat bundle would make it oodles easier to use.![]()

Anyone else having the problem recently that it needs a few tries to teleport on a new planet?
Never had the problem before the new update.
Question for those who are currently using the GAF server, and also open to those who plan to play on it at some point:
If I was to move the server over to some sort of dedicated hosting, how many players max do we want to be able to support?
I'm really not sure on this. Have you been able to get an accurate headcount of at least how many unique character names have logged in? It's really hard to tell how many people are on the server just as a client connected to it. Not even an X disconnected or connected message yet.Question for those who are currently using the GAF server, and also open to those who plan to play on it at some point:

I got this game last night finally and played it a bunch with some friends. There's a lot to love about the game, but holy damn. That matter manipulator upgrading to a pickaxe is maybe the biggest bullshit I've ever seen in a video game. Would anybody really be upset if you started out with something that could cut down trees and mine simple materials in a fraction of the time? This is, far and away, the biggest reason I hated Terraria despite playing it for about 20 hours (yes, I'm aware that's a nothingth of the time that a lot of people spend on the game, I didn't have it in me to click on blocks for 40 more hours to get 10 more hours of real exploration and gameplay). I was really hoping the sci-fi setting would eliminate that tedium from the game.

I'd say at least 100 to start with. We might not ever reach that number but with as popular as the game is right now it would be good to have a high cap instead of a low one to start off with.

Game is pretty fun even though I don't really know what I'm doing but one problem I have with it is that the matter manipulator is way too slow. It's fun using it (I like that I can aim with it properly, unlike with a pickaxe), how about making it better?
