Starbuck joins the cast of 24

wtf, Freddie Prinze Jr is joining? i know hes not a big celebrity, but i thought they only wanted to cast mostly unknown people

Good for her for getting on a mainstream network show - I bet she dies though. I say that because did she did have a cop show lined up on NBC. Also, this might be the last season if 24 so I wonder how long she will actually be on the show?
 
The only reason I kept watching shitty-ass BSG's endgame is now going to be the reason I keep watching 24's endgame. :(

I detest reality shows, however, I've been wanting to watch that because it has the goddamn Faceman.

Also, I never realized he was Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica. Go figure.
 
My friend told me about the Freddie Prinze Jr thing. I'm still not quite sure what to make of it. But most roles on 24 are handled well.

Everything about this last part of the sentence just made me sigh the biggest sigh of the fucking day. Isn't this the last fucking season of 24? And you want me to care about the same SHIT CTU office romance with SECRET PASTS and uninteresting data analyst bitches? Are you fucking kidding me?
 
You guys know FPJ's role in the show will probably amount to the same role Sylar had as Adam. Starbuck will have to be a badass though.

Not to derail the thread, but is this latest season of 24 worth a BluRay buy? I missed out on half of it due to traveling and decided to wait for a DVD/BluRay release. I'd ask in an official thread but I'm afraid of the spoilers. ;)

Well Kiefer Sutherland's contract ends after season 8. That doesn't mean it's the final season though, I expect Fox to try and continue the show with someone else even if Kiefer doesn't renew.
 
:O :O :O Hell yes! Chloe interactions please!!! Very nice casting coup. I was wondering where some of the BSG alumni might end up next. Certainly makes up for the Freddie Prinze casting, though i'm prepared to give him a chance to surprise me...
 
Sigh, no Chase no sale.

Him returning would have been awesome. By now he's almost as hardened as Jack, so it would be interesting watching Jack attack him for leaving Kim while realizing he had made similar personal choices in the past

I would rather have Freddie Prinze Jr than Chase back. Sorry, but the character was just annoying and I never bought him being a partner for Jack. Now as for Katee joining. YUM. My major crush from BSG now on my used to be favorite show. Too bad she will be behind a desk, because I would believe her as a bad ass field agent more than Renee was. She just felt like a poseur. But perhaps Katee just needed to branch out enough to not get typecast as the tough chick for once.

Now just for my enjoyment, I repost the pics I used in the other thread to drool over Katee.

Fuck that. Give me Chase. 24's very own Raiden. If Freddie has to come on then I at least hope he grew a beard or something and doesn't come in like a soft ass.

As far as Katee...YES. She looks like shit in those motorcycle pictures but she's beautiful. And yeah putting her behind the chair is complete bullshit. That won't be all they have in store for her.

I wont care. But I still wish she was a field agent. Katee behind a desk doesnt sound as interesting, but I know she can make it work. Her and Michael Hogan were the two best actors off of Battlestar. I hope we see him surface in something soon. Perhaps as the new head of Division in NYC? That would be cool to see him come in and bust everyone's chops. The problem is we know what happens to people that come over from Division...

The thing that bugged me with Chase was that they were obviously trying to set him up to replace Jack, but he just couldnt hang with it. I wouldnt go so far as to call him 24s Raiden just because Raiden didnt have to tag along with Snake to prove his worth, while Chase had to pick up the scraps from Jack, or what Jack missed from going through withdrawal that day.

The only characters on the show I enjoyed seeing Jack go around and kick ass with were Tony, Bill, Agent Pierce, and Agent Baker(Daniel Dae Kim). Agent Baker was rarely there, but when he showed up shit got handled!

I didnt think that they had much chemistry the first time seeing the series, but going back and watching it again from the start, it is very much there. At least in the original Caprica episodes with them. But once season 3 hit and she went all psycho, some of the chemistry got lost. Even between her and Lee.

That would defeat the entire purpose of the season 3 finale where he says "I don't want to be detached while doing this job". Of course, he had his hand detached half an hour later. :lol I never wanted him back and i don't blame the actor for not wanting to return when he had to be the love interest of Kim and act out all the shenanigans that come with that.

I want Chase back too, but from what I heard, the actor didn't want to come back to the show. Not sure if that's true.

But if an episode of 24 ends next season with a cliffhanger of Chase randomly showing up, I'll scream like a little girl.

Eh? Season 7 had Janeane Garofalo and Jon Voight. Both are known actors, probably moreso than Freddie these days.

24 is usually really good with casting, so I'm not too worried.
