Is there any word on whether Jack will be working for this newly re-instituted CTU, or will he be on the outside until inevitably pulled into the conflict?

And as for casting unknowns, they did have two well known actors in Season 4. Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) as Marwan, and recent Oscar nominee(but actually pretty unknown) Shohreh Aghdashloo as the mother.
We had Xander Berkely in Seasons 1 and 2 as Mason. He is a character actor that just shows up in TONS of stuff but never the main role. Such as the stepdad in Terminator 2.
Season 1 had Dennis Hopper and Lou Diamond Phillips
Season 2 had Tobin Bell who would become Jigsaw
Season 3 had Joaquim de Almeida from Clear and Present Danger, and Desperado. Also had Zachary Quinto who would go on to Heroes and Star Trek. Season 3 also gave us Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chole, who was on Mister Show and Larry Sanders (with Janeane!).
Season 5 had Peter Weller and Julian Sands, two well known B actors from the 80s. We also had Mark Sheppard who was Rolo Lampkin on BSG.
Season 6 we had James Cromwell and Regina King
Season 7 added John Voight, Jeneane, and Kurtwood Smith. Also Tony Todd, the Candyman himself.
Me knowing all these people though shows I watched WAY too much TV and too many movies growing up.

Season 4 he worked for the Sec. of Defense, but helped out CTU.
Season 5 he was outed as being alive and helped to bring down the bad guys
Season 6 he was brought back from prison to help stop the threat.
Season 7 he was pulled out of court to help stop the threat.
It is getting rather old that Jack is always "I want nothing to do with you, so dont involve me. But DAMMIT I cant let innocents die!"
The only time it was really interesting was Season 2, when he was basically a sociopath on the loose, killing terrorists with little regard to his own life.

US, July 1, 2009 - As reported by Scifiwire.com, Battlestar Galactica-alum Callum Keith Rennie, who played the insightful yet off-putting Cylon, Leoben, will be joining up with the cast of 24 next season. Depending on who he plays, which we are still unsure of, this might lead to a Galactica reunion with Katee Sackhoff, who will also be on 24. (You can read her 24 casting news here!).
Rennie will most likely not be a series regular, but he can currently be seen on Harper's Island on CBS. Sackhoff herself was ecstatic about the news, as evident by her Facebook post "How cool is that? I have missed my Battlestar castmates. We all should just be on 24!"

Katee Sackhoff would be a good Kiefer Sutherland replacement/partner in future 24 seasons.
She did torture pretty well in BSG season 1 and of course all the shooting and getting in people's faces.
The thing is she'll probably get killed off midway through next season of 24.

All I know is that with Annie Wersching, Elisha Cuthbert and Katee Sackhoff, 24 will have the most OM-NOM-inest cast in all of TV land.
